It was a very useful respite stay having been in hospital for 5 weeks having had abdominal surgery and complications (prior to home). Overall experience was veery good, thank you. The staff were all pleasant although I was self-caring and not in need of day-to-day care. The main downfall was the nutrition and food. The menu was mediocre sometimes with no protein or minimal protein present. The kitchen is upstairs from the main dining area and hot portable ovens are used, however, the food was sometines lukewarm. The serving staff were very pleasant and good at their job. The environment was kept very clean & tiday as well as being very pleasant for residents. Thank you for allowing me an honest review - the only reason to do so is to make quality improvements.
Thanks for taking the time to leave your review, and your kind words about our staff at Snowdrop Place. It's great you found the home environment very clean and tidy and our members of staff to be pleasant. The team will be pleased to receive these comments. We are however disappointed to hear you...
It turned out to be the best decision we could have made. I cannot recommend Snowdrop Place enough. The amazing staff are professional, kind and happy; the home has a real upbeat vibe and sense of community.
The facility is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, and it is clear that the residents are the top priority. The team treat the residents with dignity and kindness; all our mother's needs are met with kindness & professionalism. Snowdrop Place is a truly supportive environment that has provided our family with much-needed peace of mind, we thank the management & all the staff for this.
Thank you for your feedback, we are absolutely delighted to have encouraged your Mother's independence and wellbeing since arriving with us at Snowdrop Place. We strive to maintain high standards, with our residents being well cared for and feeling safe as a priority. We will ensure your lovely words are shared with all of the team.
From the moment we nervously stepped through the door on one of their "open days", through the paperwork to secure Mary's place, the very difficult day when we moved her in to all the on-going help & support, I cannot fault the care & service given to all of us!
It is also a real pleasure to go in for a visit - the welcome is always friendly, the coffee & cake shared with Mary in the Strawberry Fields" cafe is delicious and just to see her smiling & happy is really the only assurance we need!
There's so much more to say but I would recommend just paying a visit and see for yourself - I promise you won't be disappointed.
We're absolutely delighted to hear how your Mother in Law has settled into Snowdrop life so well, and its reassuring you all feel happy with the care and service for your loved one. Your comments will be shared with all of our team.
My father has been at Snowdrop Place since August. He seems very happy and has received excellent care from the staff. He receives 3 good meals each day with good variety. Wine is also available with meals. Residents are able to Personalise their rooms with photos/pictures/and furniture and a TV is provided. The ensuite bathroom and room are regularly cleaned. Staff often pop in to check they are ok. I feel my dad is safe and well cared for.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback, we do appreciate this and will share with all of our team. I am pleased to hear your Dad feels safe, well cared for and the home is clean and of good standard.
The only negatives are that communication between the staff is lacking at times, and the garden really does need some better care taken of it. Laundry do a great job, mum is always kept in nice clean fresh clothes, however I do notice that some clothes, especially her cardigans and tops, often get shrunk in the wash.
I had always wished for my mum to stay in her own her, but given the struggles we had before she went to Snowdrop , I now I feel that she is in the best place. I have peace of mind now, knowing that my mum is being so well looked after, with wrap around care, day and night. Keep up the good work Snowdrop!
We really value all of your feedback, and thank you sharing the positive along with ways we can improve. Its wonderful to hear how happy your Mum is living here at Snowdrop and how reassured you feel too. We will pass all of your comments onto our teams.
Snowdrop Place Care Home truly stands out as a wonderful place. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted by friendly staff who create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and their families. The home is clean and modern, making it a comfortable environment to be in. Every member of the team is helpful and consistently goes above and beyond to provide caring support tailored to each individual needs. I feel treated with dignity, kindness and compassion. Thank you.
Thank you for your lovely feedback and hearing how pleased you are with the home is wonderful to hear. We really strive to create a caring environment that really feels like home, and our residents are centre to all we do. I will make sure that all of our team share in the praise you have given
We highly recommend Snowdrop Place, our family are so grateful to everyone for taking that time to listen to us and reassure us at every stage at a very difficult time. Thank you.
Karen, thank you for taking time to share your thoughts and comments. We were pleased to help you feel supported as a family at such a crucial time, and that Mum felt well cared for. Please be assured we shall share with all of our team your lovely words. We wish you all well in the future.
I came to Snowdrop Place in September. I was made very welcome by the staff and other residents. The food is excellent. It is a lovely for family to visit.
We are delighted you have settled so well since September, and its a pleasure to see you have become a valued resident in our Snowdrop community. When families feel welcomed too that's lovely to hear. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, we look forward to many happy years and will pass your comments onto all of the team in the home.
The staff were all amazing, the food was great and my Mum did more activities in the two and a half weeks that she was there than she has done in years.
My Mum was in tears when she had to leave to go home and still talks about it fondly. Thanks you for taking such good care of my Mum and I'm sure she will be back permanently one day.
Thank you so much for taking time to let us know your thoughts from Mum's stay. It was down to our team we were able to welcome Mum at short notice, and so glad to hear she found her time enjoyable, she really became part of our community. We hope both Mum and Dad are well at home, and welcome back for a cuppa and cake anytime. I will pass on your comments to all of our team here at Snowdrop.
Very friendly and professional staff. There is always someone available to assist with any enquiries - nothing seems too much trouble. On every visit there is a very upbeat feeling from all members of the team. Cleanliness is of the highest standard. Residents are highly important to the staff who ensure their needs are met. Daily entertainment is organised for those who wish to participate allowing residents to interact with one another should they wish to do so. Would definitely recommend this care home .
Thank you for your really kind words, we are delighted your Uncle has settled into Snowdrop and our community so well. The elements you have mentioned are all essential to each resident feeling valued. We will also pass all of your comments onto our teams within the home.
Such care, love, kindness and compasion.
I feel blessed my husband ended his final day here. Bless all the staff.
We were delighted to welcome your husband, and family to our Snowdrop Place community. With lots of fond memories created whilst he was were here, and to look back on and cherish. To offer comfort, care and support to you all in those final days was also important to all of our team. Thank you for your kind feedback we shall pass onto all at Snowdrop Place.
My mother came for a 2 week respite stay. She has thoroughly enjoyed it and would be happy to come and stay again in the future. The whole experience for both her and myself has been very positive. The home is beautiful, spotless and very comfortable. It is like a hotel was my mother's review. All the staff are friendly and cheerful and always on hand to help. We could not fault our experience. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback, we're delighted Mum had a wonderful stay with us and the planning and peace of mind was positive for you too. We look forward to welcoming you back for coffee anytime.
My mother in law has improved in leaps and bounds with the wonderful care provided. The food is excellent and she is encouraged to go to the dining room to eat. It is like a 5 star hotel, the decor is stunning. The staff are always warm and welcoming and are very attentive.
I feel one of the greatest attributes (there are many) is the incredible activities offered, the residents are encouraged to participate, she has already had an outing to the local hotel for a drink and the promise of a trip to an Edwardian house and estate in the future which will bring her great joy as she was a volunteer there for many years.
Any issues are addressed quickly.
We are absolutely delighted to hear how well your Mother in Law has settled, and her health and wellbeing positively improved. Thank you for taking time to give your comments it really is important to us. We shall share with all of the team at Snowdrop Place and look forward to many happy memories being created.
The care, kindness, patience and consideration shown to my mother over the last three months has been amazing. She is treated with compassion and we are truly grateful the Snowdrop team demonstrate the very highest level of care each and every day. Thank you to every one of them.
Thank you for taking time to give such wonderful comments to our team and our home. It is a pleasure to have your Mother as part of our Snowdrop community and enrich her life each day in the ways we can. I will pass your lovely words on.
My mother moved to Barchester Snowdrop Place Care Home in February 2024 and loved her new home and all her 'helpers'. As the year progressed, she became unwell and needed more support. As relatives, we never needed to worry, she was looked after in every way possible to make sure that her quality of life, dignity and care were never in question. Mum passed away at Snowdrop and the staff were just incredible and we truly don't know how we would have got through it without them.
Thank you for taking the time to give such lovely feedback, it really was our pleasure to look after your Mum during her time as one of our residents. She was a wonderful part of our community, as families also become and I know missed by many. We will make sure all of our team have these comments passed on.
My Mother stayed at Snowdrop Place for just over a month for respite. The initial welcome was warm and caring. On the whole, Mother seemed happy in the environment. Family were impressed when they visited. Mother appeared to be well looked after and the care team seemed well-trained and very approachable. The negative for me was the emphasis on finance. It's a shame as towards the end of Mum's stay, it felt more like the caring side was overshadowed by the money. I fully appreciate it is a business, but this felt more like an enterprise! As an outsider looking in, who visited a few times but at different times of the day, the upstairs seems a huge waste of space. Several smaller, more intimate lounge areas which you could use when visiting would make more sense to me.
Thank you for taking the time to feedback, we find all aspects valuable to us at Snowdrop Place and continually aim to improve both the service we provide and the process regarding preparing to arrive, during the stay and the administration with our team. We're glad that your mother was happy...
Barchester Snowdrop Place Care Home is a welcoming, friendly home, the staff are kind and caring and always ready to help. The rooms are warm and clean. All the residents seem very happy and content to live there.
Thank you for taking time to give feedback, we're really glad your sister is happy at Snowdrop Place and you feel that our home is friendly and welcoming to all. We will pass your lovely comments on to all of our team here.
Our mum had two weeks respite care at Barchester Snowdrop Place Care Home following a spell in hospital. All the staff were so friendly and caring and she made great progress, both physically and mentally, and was able to return home to live independently with the support of carers. She really enjoyed socialising with the other residents and attending all the excellent activities that were on offer. We were made very welcome every time we visited and nothing was ever too much trouble.
Thank you for your feedback, we're so glad to hear Mum enjoyed her stay and made progress successfully to return home. It was lovely your mum was able to be part of the social aspect too during her stay, we hope she'll feel welcome to Snowdrop Place anytime.
I am very happy with the overall care my mum has received at Barchester Snowdrop Place Care Home. The carers are very kind and helpful. The management is very proactive, arranging numerous events, particularly this Christmas. They are always willing to listen to any comments and we have a good relationship with them. Since Mum moved into Snowdrop, she seems happier and her health needs are catered for. She is well dressed, well fed, clean and loves having her hair done and regular bubble baths. An area for improvement is better telephone access for family. Family have tried to contact Mum on numerous occasions without success. Mum thrives on hearing from her family.
Taking time to write this review is really welcome, thank you. We're delighted Mum has settled and is socially benefiting with other residents and our team at Snowdrop Place, she's a very lovely part of our community. The events and festive build-up were fabulous, it's great you were able to be...
My mum and family love the home, it is more like a posh hotel. My mum has put on weight because of the excellent food and so are we because of the gorgeous cakes, we are always made to feel welcome by the lovely, friendly staff. Mum is encouraged to join in with activities which she does enjoy, I would give Barchester Snowdrop Place Care Home ten out of ten.
Thank you for your lovely comments. We pride ourselves on the care and service we provide to all of our residents and we are glad that Mum has settled so well.

I have worked in the healthcare sector since 2015, in both public and independent services. As an experienced General Manager, I qualified as a registered Adult nurse in 2006 from the University of Southampton School of Nursing and Midwifery and then began my nursing career in the social care sector. My love for working with the elderly came like many, from looking after my grandmother in my teenage years.
I am extremely passionate about delivering exceptional, person-centred care to residents and ensuring high standards of support. Residents should have the opportunity to live their lives to the fullest. I enjoy working with residents, their loved ones and the staff team here at Snowdrop Place.
