It wasn’t easy looking at care homes for the respite care mum needed during Covid, but the manager and staff at Flowers Manor have
Respite has turned into residency because mum is so happy at Flowers Manor and that makes us happy too. I feel that we are building very positive relations with the staff alongside mum. If you take on a resident you also take on their family!
The staff ensure that healthcare and liaison with doctors and community nurses are paramount, no little things are ignored or belittled.
Mums appetite has returned and she looks forward to her meals which are very good and well tailored to the elderly. Her likes and dislikes are well catered for.
The rooms are well appointed and we look forward to seeing the newly planted garden develop.

Esther moved from Ireland when she was 18 years old and has been working in the care industry for the last 17 years. She started as a care assistant and progressed to General Manager. Esther has been a Registered Manager since the age of 28 and has managed many care homes providing residential and dementia care. Kerrie has over 20 years’ experience in the care sector, working across a wide range of services including residential care, nursing, supported living, hostels, and outreach. She has a proven track record of transforming services, most notably turning a care home rated Inadequate in 2017 into an Outstanding setting within three years, demonstrating her strong leadership, regulatory expertise, and dedication to service improvement.
Recognised for her natural strengths and passion for compliance, Kerrie was promoted to Quality & Compliance Lead, where she oversaw audits, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Her extensive experience includes managing twelve services nationally, from Devon to Liverpool, supporting managers and teams to enhance standards and outcomes.
Originally from Devon, Kerrie has lived there most of her life before relocating in recent years. She served as Operations Manager for Domicillary Care, helping the service prepare for its first CQC inspection, which resulted in a Good rating. Her desire for more direct involvement with residents and care teams led her to secure the position of Care Manager here at Flowers Manor, where she continues to make a positive impact.
Kerrie holds a degree in English and Psychology and is currently learning Spanish. She is a dedicated mum to twin boys—one working for Devon & Cornwall Police, and the other with the British Antarctic Survey, managing the build of the new Discovery Building. Kerrie is married and lives on a smallholding in a beautiful farmhouse, where she and her family enjoy adopting dogs.
Erica began working in the care industry when she was just 17, working as a Kitchen Assistant for a Residential Care Home. She soon became fond of the residents she met in the home and wanted to work her way to becoming a Care Assistant. Over the years, Erica has progressed through the different care roles and is now working as a Deputy Manager here at Flowers Manor Care Home. Debbie is an experienced Care Home Chef with over 18 years of culinary expertise, having joined Flowers Manor Care Home in 2025 as Head of Dining. She has been leading high-performing kitchen operations since November, successfully overseeing the kitchen team in delivering high-quality, person-centred meals that promote residents’ wellbeing and uphold their dignity.
With a strong focus on individualised care, Debbie develops and implements tailored menus designed to meet diverse dietary, medical, and cultural needs, ensuring an enjoyable and inclusive dining experience for all residents.

Marnie joined Flowers Manor in October 2021 and is the head of housekeeping. Before joining Flowers Manor, Marnie was a healthcare assistant for 4 years. “I have a brilliant group of staff who keep the home to the highest standard and enjoy keeping this beautiful home clean and tidy”
