This is Nan's third visit and she seems to be quite happy. The staff all say hello when they pass by. The home is clean but getting a bit tired in the open arears. The residents are given plenty of activities to do and there are plenty games to play. I haven't had experience of other homes but there
is always a happy atmosphere when I'm here.

Very clean and hygienic. The vibe you get when you walk in is very vibrant. The care for my father was very professional and all care staff are reassuring and always ask/tell what they are doing to assure it's correct. Very good. Thank you.

After a uncomfortable stay in hospital, mum came to live at Broxbourne Nursing Home. In her 3 weeks of being a resident we could see a significant change in our mums demeanor and how happy she now was. Every member of staff at the nursing home are kind, caring and attentive to all of the residents.
They all welcomed mum and put her at ease as soon as she arrived. Thank you all for your kindness and for making mums last few weeks happy.

My father went into this nursing home and we were very reluctant, as a family, but I must say, from the first time we stepped into this facility, we were very happy.
My father wasn't there for very long as sadly passed away late November but the time he did spend here he was happy.
The staff were
truly amazing with him and all the other residents that I saw them dealing with.
The staff made my father's last few months very comfortable and the respect they showed him was lovely to see. I would highly recommend this nursing home.
Thank you, once again, to all the fantastic and caring staff.

My nephew was only at Broxbourne Nursing Home for palliative care for approximately 10 days before he was re-admitted to hospital. However, in that time, he was given everything possible to make him comfortable in calm, friendly surroundings. All the staff were utterly professional and we are so grateful
that he was in the care of the team at Broxbourne Nursing Home in his twilight hours. And, more importantly he was too!

It was obvious to both my aunt and myself that she could no longer be in her sheltered apartment after a recent fall and hospital admission.
On her return home, she was cared for by a company that came 4 times a day with two carers each time as my aunt was not able to move out of bed.
I then contacted
a company who have lists of care homes and after visiting a few local ones l chose Broxbourne Nursing Home. It was clearly the nicest, friendliest, and reassuring. It is a huge decision and after just one weekend we know we've made the right decision. Nothing is too much trouble and when on the day of admission we arrived with furniture a small table, a mirror and pictures! It met with a helping hand from the staff! My aunt is very happy and impressed with her care. Thank you to the staff for welcoming my aunt and making the transition so easy. I would highly recommend this retirement nursing home look no further!
Reply from Roja, Deputy Manager at Broxbourne Nursing HomeThank you so much for sharing your experience of our home. We are thrilled that your aunt is settling in well and that she is pleased with the support we are providing. Do let us know if there is anything else we can do to support either of you. Best wishes.

This is my husband's second stay at Broxbourne Nursing Home so that I can have a break. For me, the most important fact is that everyone here is lovely, it's as if they have all been hand-picked. Through all the management team, front office team, medical team and carers - they are all lovely. You are
always greeted with a smile, everyone has time to talk to you, everyone is helpful and caring. The home itself is beautifully designed, light, airy, spacious and so prettily decorated, such attention is paid to detail. I have witnessed such patience, such kindness and caring to residents in my visits - I feel my husband is safe here, which is so important. And finally, each resident's room is also light, airy, spacious and well-equipped. We have already booked my husband's next visit. I would heartily recommend Broxbourne Nursing Home. I hope they keep the respite beds so that we can book for him again next year.
Reply from Mable Gogo, Home Manager at Broxbourne Nursing HomeThank you for your heartfelt review! We're so glad your husband feels safe and comfortable with us. We look forward to welcoming him back next year.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.792)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.792) out of 10 for Broxbourne Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 49 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.792 for Broxbourne Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (501 Excellents x 5) + (50 Goods x 4) + (13 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (8 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 576 Ratings = 4.792
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Broxbourne Nursing Home is based on 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 77 registered maximum number of service users is 15.4, which has been reached with 47 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

I have worked in the care industry for 17 years in the UK. I come from a long line of doctors and nurses in the family, and seeing my uncles and aunties help people in different ways when they need support and care has inspired me to do the same.

I started my carer in care by being a medical technologist in the Philippines and then a medical surgical nurse. I came to the UK to completed my supervised practice training with City University London and my student nursing placement was at a care home in Winchmore Hill , London Borough, then registered as an Adult Nurse.

I understand the emotional and physical needs of our elderly residents and treat them, their families and staff with kindness and dignity, and I have genuine concern for the elderlies wellbeing. It has always been my priority to create a compassionate , safe and vibrant home where every resident is treated with dignity and respect, staff empowered and supported and families feel confident and connected, ensuring quality of life, not just care.
