Staff are uniformly all friendly, helpful and caring. When staff walk past you, they all smile and greet you. Sadly, my mum wasn't well enough to enjoy the facilities but when my teenage daughter came in to visit, she walked around and said, "Wow, this is fancy!" I would definitely recommend this nursing
home.

To the manager and the rest of the Broxbourne Nursing Home team
I would like to thank you for a fabulous evening last night, mum and I enjoyed it so much, starting off with getting Mum ready she was so excited and talkative, she gave me a woowoo when she saw me.
It was like a proper restaurant, the
tables were laid beautifully, the food was delicious, the waiting staff so thoughtful and helpful, and the music an extra touch. I really appreciate how much effort went into this. Well done.
I am enjoying making these magic memories with my mum, thank you all so much.
From a very happy daughter

We looked high and low for a nursing home that would be both a beautiful environment to live in and which could meet Mum’s palliative care needs. Broxbourne is it. From the moment we first called everyone was so helpful, friendly and professional. The home has worked incredibly hard to make Mum comfortable
and happy in these complex circumstances. The room and surrounding areas are beautiful. The food is great. The care is excellent. The communication has been superb. So many agencies have been involved and Broxbourne has worked so hard to coordinate all this. They’ve met Mum’s every request, and ours. It means the absolute world to know she is happy, looked after and respected.

My mother has been a resident for approximately four months having initially arrived for two weeks of respite. From day one, the support and care she received has been outstanding. The activities arranged by the home ensure that there is always something planned, should the residents wish to join in.
Overall, I am extremely happy with the care my mother is receiving. The staff engagement and support is excellent!

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.792)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.792) out of 10 for Broxbourne Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 49 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.792 for Broxbourne Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (501 Excellents x 5) + (50 Goods x 4) + (13 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (8 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 576 Ratings = 4.792
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Broxbourne Nursing Home is based on 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 77 registered maximum number of service users is 15.4, which has been reached with 47 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I have worked in the care industry for 17 years in the UK. I come from a long line of doctors and nurses in the family, and seeing my uncles and aunties help people in different ways when they need support and care has inspired me to do the same.

I started my carer in care by being a medical technologist in the Philippines and then a medical surgical nurse. I came to the UK to completed my supervised practice training with City University London and my student nursing placement was at a care home in Winchmore Hill , London Borough, then registered as an Adult Nurse.

I understand the emotional and physical needs of our elderly residents and treat them, their families and staff with kindness and dignity, and I have genuine concern for the elderlies wellbeing. It has always been my priority to create a compassionate , safe and vibrant home where every resident is treated with dignity and respect, staff empowered and supported and families feel confident and connected, ensuring quality of life, not just care.
