Wilton Place, in Wilton, the Ancient Capital of Wessex, is a purpose built care home delivering high-quality residential care, and care and support for individuals living with dementia.

The community is broken up into small units that provide a family feel, helping people to feel safe and comfortable. Services are based on independence, dignity and choice, supported by a person-centred approach to care.

The home resembles a five star hotel and features 66 en-suite bedrooms, beautiful lounges and dining rooms, a Bistro, Bar and Cinema room along with Spa Bathrooms and a Hair Salon.

Residential care provides a luxurious, warm, welcoming environment, with delicious home cooked meals and stimulating daily activities. Each activity is designed to enhance life skills and give a feeling of purpose and self-worth, encouraging residents to choose whether to continue with existing hobbies or try something new.

The home has a specialist Memory Lane Community, for those living with dementia. This utilises a careful blend of techniques and skills developed by leading experts in the field of dementia care, with person-centred design incorporated into its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home. Residents living with dementia are offered a range of activities to help support interactions, preserve life skills, and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.

My overall experience has been positive, the staff all displayed great care and understanding of my needs, they were proactive in caring for my wellbeing. On a day to day level the variety of entertainment was good, even if I didn't always want to engage it was done positively not patronisingly. The

My mother has come in to care due to a stroke and needs a lot more support than could be given in her own home, she has been gradually settling in, the staff have been very good with her, she does need encouragement to join in with activities , but they are working on that, this care home feels more
boutique hotel than what you perceive quite often what a care home is like, so if anyone is looking for somewhere for them self or relative I recommend going along for a tour round. There are lots of activities each day, a choice of food on the menu each day, in the dining rooms, or can have their meals in their room, there is a cinema room, hairdressing salon etc
The gardens are a lovely place to have a coffee and a chat.

From start to finish the staff without exception have been incredible at accommodating my mother. The constant theme of kindness and compassion pervades through every aspect of her care. She felt safe, included, listened to and respected. She laughed and thoroughly loved her time at Wilton Place and

The staff could not have cared for my mother any better in her final weeks. Without exception the team demonstrated the utmost care, sensitivity, good professionalism in every aspect. She felt loved and safe. I cannot thank you all enough.

Wilton Place certainly makes the most of a challenging site, on a slope with limited space for development. The exterior of the building presents clean, attractive lines with a pleasing combination of materials and colour scheme.
The interior decoration is interesting and eye-catching and the floor
plan on each level is well thought out with plenty of space on the landings and main connecting walkways. The rooms are comfortable and well-decorated with pleasant soft furnishings.
The staff are cheerful, friendly and in the main local people, which makes a great difference to ease of communication and interaction. The first impression on reception is helpful, polite and welcoming.
One could probably settle to a pleasant life at Wilton Place in one's declining years.

My mother went to Barchester Wilton Place Care Home for respite care in April 2023 and liked it so much she decided to move in permanently. She stayed there until autumn 2024 when she needed extra care. She really enjoyed all the activities and her room, she loved sitting on her patio outside and socialising
in the bistro. The staff were excellent, some visiting her on their own time while she was in hospital. It was such a special place for her that we mentioned her time there in her eulogy. Thank you to Wilton Place and their sister home for making her last years so special.

Staying for three weeks respite at Barchester Wilton Place Care Home. Wilton Place Care Home was very similar to a top-class hotel. What a wonderful experience. All the carers were such lovely, helpful, caring people. There was a wonderful, calming atmosphere and such a special place for people to spend

At the beginning of December 2024, I had to find a care home for my father at very short notice. Barchester Wilton Place Care Home was recommended to me and I was able to visit almost straight away. They made everything so easy, were kind, understanding and communicative. My father was able to move
in within a week and has settled with absolutely no problems. He is comfortable, cared for, shown respect and thanks to the staff and wonderful environment of the home, has settled very quickly.

Every time I am able to visit my grandma, who's a resident, I am blown away by the standards here. So clean, welcoming and high quality. The staff also are always so friendly and personable and I love seeing how they interact with the residents. It makes me feel happy and reassured that my grandma is

The warm welcome for all visitors is evident as soon as you come into Barchester Wilton Place Care Home. All the staff were keen to help in any way possible, it was obvious that all staff are proud to be part of Wilton Place team. The rooms are beautifully clean and every effort was made to enable my

Contrary to expectations, my husband was pleasantly surprised at how much he enjoyed his recent weeks' respite care with you at Barchester Wilton Place Care Home as I was too. I feel we have both made new friends amongst staff, management and the residents. As is probably natural, I felt slightly guilty
at not wanting my husband home too soon after his stay in hospital. As if happening, I went down with Covid so it was a blessing in disguise.
I was more than happy with the care he received and know he would be happy to return when I need a break!

I agreed to come to Barchester Wilton Place Care Home because I needed to give my wife a break (she was having a long-awaited jolly) and fourteen days was the minimum stay and I'd heard of your reputation.
I've enjoyed socialising with some of your residents and your lovely staff. Unfortunately, I
had to be ambulanced back to hospital with a serious UTI which weakened me considerably and it was two weeks before I could return to you. I was encouraged to play the harmonica in the bistro which people seemed to enjoy and would return if required at Christmas or before.

My mother had two weeks of respite care and we could not have been happier with the experience.
The care staff were very kind and considerate, nothing was too much trouble.
The food was excellent and the ambience and atmosphere of the home was comfortable, friendly and caring.
We are already talking
about another respite.

My grandma has lived at Barchester Wilton Place Care Home for over eighteen months now and she is receiving the highest standard of care.
The staff are brilliant, very friendly, kind, caring and know their residents so well.
Whenever I visit, the atmosphere in the home is lovely, there are always
homemade cakes and teas and coffees on offer.
The home also puts on lots of fun weekend events throughout the year for the residents and really encourages families to get involved, making sure there is always something for the little ones to get involved in too!

I feel that my four weeks respite experience was long enough to gain a fair and balance view of life at Barchester Wilton Place Care Home. Every aspect of my needs at the time were fulfilled. I was graciously welcomed by kind, friendly staff. This helped me to settle quickly. All the staff were respectful,
friendly and kind. No request was ever too much. Staff knew everybody's name and worked well together. As I needed to extend my stay, I had the experience of occupying two different rooms. Both were light, quiet and had good outlooks. I made a good choice in going to Wilton Place.

Mum started off with respite care but she has settled in so well that we are going to make it permanent. It really is a home-from-home. Mum is going to thrive in Barchester Wilton Place Care Home. The staff make us all feel very welcome and part of the everyday life of Mum at Wilton Place.

Hello, my name is Antoinette, and I am the General Manager at Wilton Place.


I have been managing in luxury care homes now for over 13 years and I am passionate about delivering fantastic care, within beautiful environments. I have over 25 years of management experience in the care sector.


Here at Wilton Place, our residents are able to access a full suite of life-enriching activities as well as continuing their lives as part of the wider community in Wilton.


I look forward to welcoming you to our home, to come and see everything that we have to offer and to enjoy a slice of homemade cake (or two) over a cup of tea with me and my team.
