Everyone at Sycamore Grove was helpful and friendly from our first viewing, Mum went for 2 weeks of respite, her first stay in a home. She was well cared for and with slight dementia has come home with better faculties, and coordination and enjoyed numerous activities including painting, singing, Ascot and pizza making. She has eaten more than usual including a more varied diet which benefits her too. We all hope she will return for another stay soon.

Overall Experience
My 90-year-old mother is staying for a few weeks of respite care. In her own words “They can’t do enough for me, everyone is so friendly”. It's spotless with great facilities and the attractive decor feels homely.
I have seen Mum's demeanour change to become brighter and more engaged with the wealth of personalised activities on offer.

The welcome when we arrived was outstanding, there was attention to detail in settling her into her room. The food is wonderful and we celebrated her birthday with a delicious family meal and the chef made a special cake for her. As family visitors we are made welcome, it’s a lovely family atmosphere where she is being well cared for while retaining her dignity, making new friends and having fun. The staff have been professional, patient and reassuring in answering our numerous questions. Thank you.

Overall Experience

“Wow” sums up my first impression and experiences of Sycamore Grove Care Home, it is the first and only care we viewed for our 91-year-old mother and to be honest did not need to see anymore! 5-star hotel comes to mind. Everything has been carefully thought out with the residents in mind, including a spa bathroom, cinema room, lovely lounge, activity areas, big garden, lovely bedrooms with en-suite wet rooms and hairdressing /nail bar, cosy social dining rooms. All the staff are amazing and very professional in their varied roles especially the manager and home service advisor, activities lady, who have all gone above and beyond in answering any questions and reassuring us as this is all new to the family. Mum went for 2 weeks of respite and has since become a resident after living independently for many years and all the staff have treated her with dignity and respect, she is happy every day and she has made a best friend also 91. Chef/food is 5-star amazing!

Overall Experience

My mother who is 100 years old moved into Sycamore Grove today. The manager, assistant manager and all staff made her feel so welcome. They all put Mum at ease on what could have been a very stressful day. The chef spent a lot of time with her to find out her food likes and dislikes. The housekeeper made sure all her clothes were labelled and fresh to wear. The handyman put up pictures on the walls to make her room home from home. The activities coordinator spent a lot of time chatting with her to assess her preferences. The care staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Overall, without a doubt, this is the best care home my mother has experienced.
