Overall Experience

My husband spent two weeks respite care at Grappenhall Manor Care Home. He seemed to settle in well, although he has dementia. The staff all seemed very helpful and friendly, particularly when it came to looking often his diabetic injections etc. The home was new and well decorated, light and airy with a lovely garden behind it. In all, I felt relieved that my husband was being well looked after and would recommend the care home to anyone who needed it.

Overall Experience

My dad went in to Grappenhall Manor for respite care following his discharge from hospital. Immediately from my dad’s arrival at Grappenhall Manor, we were very impressed with the personal nature of the care. The staff soon assessed my dad’s specific needs; in particular his medication, mobility and nursing requirements. The continuity of care is excellent with staff having knowledge and access to events and medical interventions even if they were not on duty at the time. The staff/resident ratio is very good. The facilities are first-class; new and modern (the centre opened in May 2023). On our visits, my sister and I have had very thorough updates from the staff as well as telephone updates. We’ve been incredibly impressed with Grappenhall Manor and would highly recommend it. It’s been a source of comfort to us that he’s in a safe environment cared for by a professional and high-calibre team, led by the manager, who have a good understanding of his personal circumstances.

Charlotte
Charlotte Job Title:Home MangerJoined: 2022

I’m Charlotte Sherrocks, and I have worked in the health and social care since leaving education, qualifying as a registered nurse in 1996. My N.H.S. ward experience was gained in general medicine, trauma and orthopaedics. I also hold a BSc Health and Social Care degree, mentoring, management and clinical qualifications.

I left the N.H.S. and joined the private sector, where I have undertaken roles including that of General Manager, Clinical Services Manager, Clinical Development Nurse and Regional Support Manager. These opportunities have given me a wealth of knowledge and vast experience in the care of older adults. My passion is to deliver high-quality standards and a person-centred, individualised approach to care.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the cinema and going to the gym.

Jessica
Jessica Job Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2023

I joined Grappenhall Manor when we first opened our doors in 2023, beginning my journey here as a Registered Staff Nurse. Since then, I have been delighted to have accepted the position of Deputy Manager, working alongside our Home Manager, Charlotte.

I am genuinely grateful for the support I’ve received from our residents, colleagues, relatives, and the wider Lovett community throughout this journey.

My career in health and social care began in 2013 as a Care Assistant. I later qualified as a Registered Adult Nurse in 2020, graduating from the University of Salford. Since then, the majority of my post-registration experience has been within nursing home settings - an environment where my commitment and enthusiasm continue to grow.

Our team at Grappenhall Manor is exceptional, and I am proud of the compassionate care and consistent support we provide to our residents, their families, and one another.

Leah Job Title:Wellbeing CoordinatorJoined: 2023

I have worked as a well-being coordinator for a number of years and loved every second. At university, I studied dance, and for one of my modules, I looked at how dance can benefit people living with dementia. That was when I knew what career path I wanted to follow. I want to make sure everyone is able to have fun and look forward to what is on our wellbeing programme.

Outside of work, I am a member of a dance crew where we have gone to competitions around Europe and are currently working on getting a place in Worlds in America. I also enjoy running and recently completed the Great North Run, which I'm super proud of. Grappenhall Manor is a lovely place to work, and I can't wait to spend many more years here.
