A superb residential home.
My mother moved in as a resident in July following a respite trial period which she thoroughly enjoyed and continues to do so with her spacious room with garden views, good food on offer and convivial company.
The management and staff are caring, supportive and respectful.
wide range of activities are provided daily to engage with the differing interests of the residents as well as various trips out to venues such as museums, garden centres, with coastal visits in the summer. It's been a pleasure to get to know other relatives as well.
My mother chose to host her 96th birthday celebration for the family at CG for which the chef provided excellent party food and cakes for us in one of the spacious lounges beautifully decorated for the event.
Reply from Amy Milburn, Home Ambassador at Cambridge Grove Care HomeThank you so much for your wonderful review. We absolutely love having you all as part of our Cambridge Grove family. Mum's fabulous sense of humour and stories are brilliant! Our trips are popular and we're delighted that mum has been able to participate in some of these. We're proud of the team we have established; so thank you for recognising their hard work.

My best friend's mother has recently been admitted to Cambridge Grove and we are all very impressed. The home is calm, peaceful yet still offers a huge variety of activities for the residents to do. I have visited the home and have been overwhelmed by the friendliness of staff and atmosphere of the
home. They have extensive gardens, too, which I'm sure will be utilised in warmer weather!
Reply from Amy Milburn, Home Ambassador at Cambridge Grove Care HomeThank you for your lovely comments. It's great to know friends of our residents can see the positive atmosphere in our home, as well as close relatives. We will definitely be out in the garden more when the weather improves, but some dedicated residents have braved the cool weather over the last few days to plant daffodil bulbs ready for the spring! We look forward to seeing you again, soon.

My mother has really settled into the Grove since coming, firstly on respite care then becoming a resident. . The building itself allows lots of natural light in, which is uplifting. There is a pleasant garden to walk or sit in. The staff are so lovely and caring and go over and above at times. The
activities are interesting ones and really enjoyable. The staff are very good at helping residents mingle with like minded people. The food is also delicious and nutritious and we can join mum in the dining room at times too...
This is no ordinary care home.
Thank you for helping my mum feel 'at home and cared for' ..
Reply from Amy Milburn, Home Ambassador at Cambridge Grove Care HomeThank you so much for your kind words. It's good to hear that mum find sour activities interesting - we do aim to cater for everyone's hobbies and to keep minds active, too...our quiz mornings are very popular! We love that mum feels at home and that you are more relaxed knowing mum is cared for.

An exemplary home.
My mother in law has found things difficult after her partner passed away, and she needed to relocate. But she has been full of praise for the staff, food and facilities.
It is always a pleasure to visit and spend time with her in such comfortable surroundings.

we moved our mum into the grove residential care home in September of this year and it wasn't an ideal time for her due to the recent loss of her partner and moving from her home she shared with her partner of 26 years so we had a lot of emotions to deal with .

The Grove has been brilliant and the

overall picture for us is of a home that is an amazing 5 star residential care home that have been so caring and kind to our mother .

Management are great and everyone on the whole team are kind and caring .

Residential care homes are not ideal for lots of the residents that stay there for all sorts of reasons but The Grove is very good in our opinion and i would have absolutely no hesitation in recommend it to others in a similar situation to us .

Well done The Grove !!!

Since my mother moved into the Cambridge Grove Care Home, the care and kindness she has received have been outstanding. The staff are genuinely caring and thoughtful, always taking the time to make sure she feels comfortable and valued. It's been such a relief knowing she's in safe hands, and the support
they've given has lifted a huge weight off our family. We're so grateful for everything they do.

My father absolutely loved The Grove! The staff are so helpful and attentive, nothing seems too much trouble. As a son, living 300 miles away, I have been confident he was cared for. In his later days, Grove staff have helped me personally by offering me food, accommodation and even lifts to the hospital.
Wow!!

My mother became a resident at the Grove in October 24 with advanced dementia, it took a little while for her to settle in, along that journey the staff and management have been great, we began with regular online meetings and updates on her progress until we were all happy she was "at home" in the
Grove.

Now nine months later she has settled in extremely well and very much feels part of the community at the Grove, taking part in many of their really good activities along with enjoying the facilities it has to offer including a lovely garden.

The Cambridge Grove is a little more expensive than some care homes, but as the saying goes you really get what you pay for, thank you to all the team at The Cambridge Grove for all you do for my mother.

On the 1st April of this year my mother celebrated her 99th birthday at the Grove. All the staff were wonderful and made it special for her. We were able to have an excellent meal with her in the private dining room and her godson and his wife were able to join us which made the day even more special
for her. Following on from this my mother was treated to a 'This Is Your Life' presentation which I had helped put together alongside the staff as a surprise, this was I believe to be the first of many for the residents and what a lovely way to find out about someone's life, after all they haven't always been old and I'm sure most were trend setters in their time!
Following the 'This is your life' episode we all went to the Bistro where the chef had produced a birthday cake to share with the other residents, sadly only one candle, the other 98 were deemed to be a fire hazard!
Well done to all the staff for making a special day that much more special with your wonderful care.

This is my first experience of care homes in relation to placing a loved one in one for permanent residential care. I visited a few care homes and found that Cambridge Grove was exceptional and far above any of the others that I saw, in terms of the facilities, the rooms with ensuite shower rooms, the
decor, the space, the food, the number and frequency of activities, and the gardens. I also found the people working there to kind, caring, knowledgeable and supportive. I have no connection to the care home or anyone working there, other than my loved one staying there, but I couldn't be happier that I managed to find this home for my loved one.

We look forward to seeing you again, very soon.

This was the first time I had been to a care home and not only was I impressed by the kindness of the staff. I was also impressed by the kindness of the staff. I was also impressed by the design of the home, the decor and the architecture. The home provides that perfect basis for many activities, none
of which are forced on the clients. All in all a wise choice for a residential or respite stay.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.889)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.889) out of 10 for Cambridge Grove Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 75 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 75 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.889 for Cambridge Grove Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (802 Excellents x 5) + (79 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 891 Ratings = 4.889
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cambridge Grove Care Home is based on 75 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 registered maximum number of service users is 14.4, which has been reached with 75 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
