My mother went into Cambridge Grove for respite care after almost three weeks in hospital, and she was made to feel welcome from the moment she arrived. The staff and carers were consistently friendly, kind, patient and supportive, and always keeping her comfort and well-being in mind. Any small issue was handled quickly and thoughtfully, and the team went beyond what one would expect when my mother misplaced her glasses twice, the staff found them, and even one staff member returned them in person after she had returned home. There was a huge variety of activities, somewhat scuppered by the heatwave. Thank you to everyone for the exceptional care during my mother's recovery.

It's heartening to know your mother felt so welcome from her very first day with us, especially after a long spell in hospital - settling in comfortably matters enormously after a stay like that. The small things you mention say a great deal: noticing when something's amiss, finding her glasses,...

This last week the home has been calm and staff so friendly and helpful. Nothing is any trouble. The home has smelt lovely and there are always little snacks available in the bistro. The home ambassador and the staff always make me feel welcome.

What a warm thing to read - it's lovely to know this last week has felt so calm and welcoming for you. Those little touches matter to us, whether it's the snacks in the bistro or simply being greeted with a friendly face each time you arrive, and we're so pleased nothing has felt like too much trouble. Thank you for taking the time to let us know.

Our dad moved into Cambridge Grove 4 months ago. He has been so happy since he arrived which has been such a relief to all of us. It is an incredibly hard decision to place a vulnerable parent in care but he is so well looked after here and we get to enjoy spending time with him, taking him out and just hanging out with tea and cake.
The facilities are excellent, the food is excellent and the staff are wonderful.

I will always be grateful that we found Cambridge Grove when we did. It has been an incredible community through a difficult time and allowed us to experience much more joy in this precious time.

As a family, we were extremely grateful to Cambridge Grove for providing a short-term respite care home stay for my mother that lasted two and a half weeks, after her live-in care arrangements fell through. The environment of the home for this type of stay was very comfortable, more akin to a hotel than a care home or other institutional setting. The café area was a lovely spot to socialise and unwind, and most importantly, we were very impressed by the friendliness, care, and compassion shown by the staff towards my mother and her needs. We sincerely thank them for making my mother's stay restorative, relaxing, and enjoyable. All her relatives who visited her during this period shared our gratitude and were equally impressed by Cambridge Grove.

The team at Cambridge Grove set a very high bar when it comes to community care home living. I am a friend of a resident who moved into Cambridge Grove two years ago and she is literally thriving, not just existing. From top level management who are approachable and friendly, dedicated and passionate about thinking outside of the box, outstanding leadership which filters down to each and every team member. The setting is beautiful and of the highest standard without losing its charm, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, feeling like home from home with that extra special touch. My friend thinks of it as her extended holiday where she can get pampered in the salon, enjoy fine dining with family and friends, take part in as much or as little as she chooses with the full and varied activities schedule. The rooms are spacious and you can add your own personal touch. We are invited to regularly join in the activities and thoroughly enjoy them, particularly the live performances: Sunset magic.

Cambridge Grove is a fantastic residential home. Every need of my mothers has been met and their care is second to none. Their attention to detail is great. Everyday the home hosts activities for Mum to join in with which are all aimed appropriately for the people living in the home. The correct balance of entertainment, physical, mental challenges, fun etc. The food at the care home is always being raved about too. The communication with us has also been second to none. Any problems at all, they contact us immediately. Any needs or requests we have are also met with immediate action and help. This provides us with peace of mind that Mum is getting the best care possible at a difficult time in her life.

Nan was a resident at Cambridge Grove and absolutely loved every minute she spent there. She always said how friendly the staff were and how much opportunity she had to join in with activities. She loved going down to the cinema with some of her friends from her floor and watching different movies every week. Nan really enjoyed the food and like how she was given different options and could request things given enough time. We also celebrated her birthday in their private dining room and the person who looked after us down there was brilliant. We were welcomed with flowers and a card from the heads of department and Nan had a lovely send off with many staff saying goodbye. Overall our experience at Cambridge Grove was amazing and I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for somewhere for their loved one to stay

Cambridge Grove is certainly not your average Care Home! The building and grounds are modern and clean, the staff are all friendly and welcoming, the residents are offered lots of activities to keep them busy and entertained, the food is great and the care exemplary.
My mum moved into Cambridge Grove mid 2025 after initially staying for respite. We knew after her respite stay that there was nowhere else that we would want her to be! She has benefitted so much from the social interaction from staff and other residents and it is such a relief to know that she is safe, well fed and cared for so well by the staff.

We visit regularly and are always made to feel welcome - it's become like a home from home for us too. My children love to visit their Grandma and are always spoilt with lots of attention from the staff and residents too. It's a great place to be able to carry on making happy memories together as a family.

A superb residential home.
My mother moved in as a resident in July following a respite trial period which she thoroughly enjoyed and continues to do so with her spacious room with garden views, good food on offer and convivial company.
The management and staff are caring, supportive and respectful. A wide range of activities are provided daily to engage with the differing interests of the residents as well as various trips out to venues such as museums, garden centres, with coastal visits in the summer. It's been a pleasure to get to know other relatives as well.

My mother chose to host her 96th birthday celebration for the family at CG for which the chef provided excellent party food and cakes for us in one of the spacious lounges beautifully decorated for the event.

My best friend's mother has recently been admitted to Cambridge Grove and we are all very impressed. The home is calm, peaceful yet still offers a huge variety of activities for the residents to do. I have visited the home and have been overwhelmed by the friendliness of staff and atmosphere of the home. They have extensive gardens, too, which I'm sure will be utilised in warmer weather!

Thank you for your lovely comments. It's great to know friends of our residents can see the positive atmosphere in our home, as well as close relatives. We will definitely be out in the garden more when the weather improves, but some dedicated residents have braved the cool weather over the last few days to plant daffodil bulbs ready for the spring! We look forward to seeing you again, soon.

My mother has really settled into the Grove since coming, firstly on respite care then becoming a resident. . The building itself allows lots of natural light in, which is uplifting. There is a pleasant garden to walk or sit in. The staff are so lovely and caring and go over and above at times. The activities are interesting ones and really enjoyable. The staff are very good at helping residents mingle with like minded people. The food is also delicious and nutritious and we can join mum in the dining room at times too...

we moved our mum into the grove residential care home in September of this year and it wasn't an ideal time for her due to the recent loss of her partner and moving from her home she shared with her partner of 26 years so we had a lot of emotions to deal with .

The Grove has been brilliant and the overall picture for us is of a home that is an amazing 5 star residential care home that have been so caring and kind to our mother .

Management are great and everyone on the whole team are kind and caring .

Residential care homes are not ideal for lots of the residents that stay there for all sorts of reasons but The Grove is very good in our opinion and i would have absolutely no hesitation in recommend it to others in a similar situation to us .

Well done The Grove !!!
