My sister has settled in very well. She is very well cared for and enjoys the food and activities. As a regular visitor, it would be good to have the pin code to come through without disturbing the reception staff. I would like to say how wonderful I have found all the staff, from the receptionist, right through to the management, very friendly and efficient in their respective roles. I would definitely recommend Birchmere to anyone looking for a home and my sister and family count themselves fortunate to have found it.

The team put on a 'cheese and wine' evening for the residents and their relations. It was a lovely evening, one in which my mum thoroughly enjoyed. The effort and energy the team delivered and the real love shown for the residents was fantastic.

Our experience has been excellent. The customer services manager and all the staff have been professional, friendly and welcoming from the start. Nothing has been too much trouble and everything has been done with warmth, good humour and a smile. We feel very happy to leave Mum in their capable hands. Highly recommended.

I am wonderfully overwhelmed by the professional, polite, and empathetic support of all of the team at Birchmere House Care Home. This was a big decision for my nan to try another care home after some bad past experiences and we have been met with such care and understanding. Nan was really nervous about it all, and over a bit of time with help from staff and other residents, she is starting to come out of her shell. Nan looks healthier and happier and as a family, we are so very grateful.

The home have been amazing in helping my father to settle in. He was transferred smoothly from hospital and the care he has received has been excellent. He has been able to regain his strength and confidence, whilst feeling safe and secure in his comfortable surroundings. He has enjoyed the food, company and activities. I would recommend this home without hesitation.

The home is spotless and the facilities are excellent. The entertainment programme is very full with a vast array of activities to keep the community occupied. Trips out on the minibus are particularly fun with regular stops for ice cream.
Overall, the decision to put my mother in Birchmere was exactly the right one and I'm very grateful to everyone who helped my mother settle in and who has made her life such a happy one.
I would thoroughly recommend Birchmere to anyone who is considering a care home in the Solihull area.

My room was very comfortable.
My only complaint was that it took me three days to get a table to get over the bed despite numerous requests. There was no ice available to use as a cold compress for my swollen, bruised knee.
My mother was transferred here for ongoing treatment and nursing care. From when she first arrived the atmosphere was warm, friendly and the staff were caring and supportive. Her needs were met with professionalism and respect. It was nice to meet other residents who also felt the same. The family were reassured by the quality of care she was given and the genuine kindness of all the staff.

She was in a very dependent, almost bedridden state when she arrived, is now mobilising independently and starting to join in with the interesting and varied activities on offer.
She has thoroughly enjoyed the food.
The rooms, and home in general, are very comfortable and adequately equipped.
All of the staff I have met and spoken to have been caring and attentive, and are always pleasant.
All in all a far cry from care homes 30 years ago!
Mum says if she has to go and live in a care home sometime she would choose Birchmere House.

It was initially for 19-days of respite for us to take a break from constant interventions arising from my mother living in her own three-bed semi and 3 or 4 carer visits daily after a double stroke. Settling here was a traumatic experience because of her over-anxious personality; it must have been demanding for allocated staff to respond to her fears.
On our return from a restful and entertaining week in North Yorkshire, where we deliberately made no contact with Birchmere Care Home, I was relieved to be greeted by my mum's more relaxed and welcoming smile. Her anxiety had been dissolved.
Despite Covid Lockdown restrictions, staff had helped to enable our decision to establish and seek permanent residency. The selling of property is extremely stressful: I am also an only child.
Thank you to all staff for their liaising.

In our early meetings, they were very kind and extremely patient, discussing with us dad's needs and how they could best be met. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. While dad was in the hospital they liaised with the hospital to ensure they had everything in place to meet his requirements on discharge and we’re very supportive when his discharge was delayed on a number of occasions due to covid and his changing medical situation.
Dad has now been a resident for 2 months. The staff are kind, professional, and caring. Our first impressions of the home were positive, but you never quite know until you experience things firsthand. We are very happy with the decision we made to house dad at Birchmere. He feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for…they have been great.

We have had a torrid couple of years, losing Dad on Xmas Day 2020 and my Mum had a stroke on 2nd Dec 2020. Mum then had another stroke at the end of January 22. My wife found Birchmere as Mum's needs proper nursing care. I then spoke to a member of staff and we arranged for Mum to go to Birchmere. I was allowed in for a visit to take a few personal effects and Mum was transported there from the rehab centre in early April. Since then I've had nothing but glowing reports from Mum about the care. The home itself is beautiful, it feels like a proper home and I believe really helps with that transition that everyone must go through moreover the staff are thoughtful and caring, even arranging Facetime calls so I can speak to Mum (there have been a few COVID cases since she moved in). Birchmere House, its staff and the care I believe to be second to none. I would highly recommend it to anyone with a loved one in need of care.

It’s an emotional rollercoaster and a steep learning experience curve when taking the first steps from living independently at home to moving into a residential environment. My brother and I had to fast track mum into Birchmere after a series of falls and whilst we asked as many questions as we could, there were many that hadn’t occurred to us. The main thing was that mum should be safe and happy! 2 months and a room move within the home later and mum is stronger, happier, less stressed, have put on weight, made friends and thrown herself into the social activities. All of the staff are helpful, friendly and approachable, both to her and to us. There is a genuine sense that they want the residents to be as happy and fulfilled as they can be and to that end, they are proactive in inviting them to join in the various activities. There were teething issues, ours as much as theirs, but all dealt with quickly, professionally and in mum’s best interests. All-round we are very pleased.

My father came for respite care but has since become a full-time resident. Although he is struggling to come to terms with the move, my mum and I are happy with all the help and support we have given. Staff always take the time to see if they can help you.

She enjoyed her time there including the many activities that were available.
My mother arrived at Birchmere towards the end of October and has been made to feel most welcome. She has started to attend some of the classes that are offered and is enjoying meeting new people. She does comment on how good the food is. For me, it is knowing that during these unsettled times she is in a safe environment.

My mum went to stay at Birchmere for a 2-week respite break after she had broken a bone in her pelvis and had a long stay in hospital. The care she received was second to none. She enjoyed participating in the wide range of activities on offer, and particularly enjoyed the keep fit classes, ceramic painting and the concert she attended whilst in residence. She commented on how good the food was and nothing was too much trouble. She would definitely stay here again in the future if the need arose.
