Oaklands Care Home is a truly wonderful place that provides both comfort and high-quality care. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts residents and visitors at ease.
The staff are exceptional-kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. They take the time to get to know each resident personally, ensuring that everyone feels valued and respected. It's clear that they go above and beyond to create a supportive and friendly environment.
The home itself is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed to be both safe and comfortable. Residents are encouraged to stay active and engaged, with a variety of activities and social opportunities available.
Overall, Oaklands Care Home stands out for its compassionate staff and homely feel. It's a place where residents are not just cared for, but truly looked after with dignity and warmth.
Thank you for your kind words, we really appreciate your feedback.
So understanding of her needs.
Really dedicated team.
So much support also given to Mum's family.
Great friendly calm atmosphere in all areas of the home.
Would highly recommend.
Thank your very much for your kind words, they meant a great deal to us. We will continue to strive to do our very best for those we care for.
Such a lovely care home, very friendly staff and very helpful, keep you informed with whats happening
Thank you for your wonderful review. We're pleased to know that you're happy with the care your father is receiving. It means a great deal to us.
2. I continue to be amazed at the 'efficiency' of the home, from manager to carers & nurses, to kitchen, cleaning & activity staff - a well oiled-machine. This is what matters.
3. Ease of visiting, space, calmness as always.
4. Emotionally, of course, much more difficult; no-one can like their loved-one in a care home, even one as good as this. Julia is kept safe, but I can't forget that I'd want her to be nearer.
Thank you for your positive feedback. We're delighted that you are happy with the care we are currently offering in our home. Your support and encouragement mean a great deal to the team and we look forward to your visits.
My husband became a resident of Oaklands Care Home in February 2025. I have been impressed by the care and dedication of the staff and I feel reassured that he is well looked after. Relinguishing the responsibility of caring for a close relative is not easy; the manager and staff recognise this and have been a great support to me over the these last three months.
I chose Barchester Oaklands for all that it offered (after a very disappointing experience in his first care home) - safety, care, stimulation, engagement, dedicated - long serving staff and the promise of being person-centred & I have not been disappointed. From day one of dad moving in he has been happy & settled, which is a true reflection on the caring & compassionate relationships he has with all members of staff & residents. Not only has dad been welcomed into the home, but I have too. From the moment you step through the front doors you are always greeted with a warm welcome from reception and management. It really feels like everyone is all part of dad's extended family. The care staff are amazing - it is always a calm environment, they are so helpful in having dad ready to go out on the days I take him to groups and welcome him home with such warmth. The activities are endless and vary to ensure everyones needs are met. I am kept involved informed & updated. Thank you!
Sadly I have had other family members in care homes with dementia so I have other homes to compare Oaklands's with and I can't fault the care my husband receives all staff I see are very professional that's across the board
Thank you so much for your very king words, they mean a great deal to us.
Lots of activities to keep entertained.
Thank you for your thoughtful feedback, I will pass on your kind words to our team.
Barchester Oaklands has welcomed Dad with so much respect, support and every day there is a variety of onsite and offsite activities and events planned to engage the minds of the residents and bring smiles to their faces.
The home feels like a safe and engaging community with residents, staff and visitors all respectful, friendly and welcoming.
Thank you for your kind review. It has been a pleasure caring for your dad, he brings so much warmth and joy into our home.
My husband is very comfortable, clean, well-fed and chatted to. It has taken years of worry off my shoulders.
Very helpful. A very difficult time for the family, leaving a relative in full-time care is awful and the staff here have been supportive and the whole team have been really helpful.
My dad has recently arrived at this care home and our family cannot fault the care he is receiving. All of the staff - nurses, carers, maintenance, cleaners - everyone has been so friendly and attentive. Dad is in a spacious and well-maintained room and we have been encouraged to bring things in from home to make it feel like his space. The staff have made a real effort to get to know us, as a family, and also learn about Dad's interests and history so that they can talk to him about those things. The food options are great and have been tailored to Dad's own requirements and preferences - he certainly never goes hungry! The care, attention, respect and empathy he and us, as a family, have received has been fabulous. Dad is comfortable, happy and settled. We couldn't ask for more.
Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. We are delighted that you are happy with the current service in our home.
Mum has been here since February and I am very pleased with her care. The staff are lovely and the rooms are very spacious and nicely decorated. The food is good and Mum enjoys the variety. We are also very happy with the activities here. We have enjoyed pudding clubs, a classic car show and look forward to this weekend's fete. This care home is a vast improvement from the previous home my mum was in. Excellent.
We appreciate your feedback and are delighted to know that you are happy with the care we are currently providing your mother.
Despite the obstacles in the road of caring, the Elms Unite team get around them.
Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. We are pleased to know that you are happy with the care we are currently providing and will pass on your feedback to the team.
Warm and welcoming when you enter Barchester Oaklands Care Home in reception. Staff in the reception area, activity coordinators, carers, cleaners, caretakers are all friendly and cheerful and helpful. Flexible visiting hours are a plus. Cafe area in reception is good for meeting others in a similar position. It provides a forum for support from peers. My husband seems settled and I feel he's in a safe place.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. We look forward to seeing so many of you in the afternoons.
Barchester Oaklands Care Home continues to offer a friendly and warm, happy atmosphere for residents and visitors. The standard of care and attention to residents' needs are comprehensive. The fabric is well-maintained by the maintenance staff and by the housekeeping staff - again, always with a cheerful and helpful approach.
Thank you for your kind words and positive feedback.
Excellent care and attention given to my husband throughout the month.
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback, it is much appreciated.
I have really enjoyed my time here at Barchester Oaklands Care Home. I never expected it to be this good however the care I received was great from both nurses and care staff. Whilst staying with you, I had an appointment come up for the hospital and without giving it a second thought, Oaklands organised transport for me with your staff which was invaluable to me. The activity team are excellent at finding time to chat with me and also finding activities for individuals and groups.
We are so pleased that you enjoyed your short stay with us and look forward to seeing you on your next break.
All the staff are so caring and helpful, they have looked after my mum excellently. Everybody has made us so welcome, it's like one big family. My mum's care has been the best. Every single need she has wanted they have fulfilled and cannot thank them enough.
Thank you for your kind words, they are much appreciated.
Since my dad became a resident at Barchester Oaklands in 2021, our experience has been very positive. The staff members are not just professional but also exceptionally friendly, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere every time I visit. They welcome my input greatly, always encouraging me to share my thoughts and opinions to tailor my dad's care to his needs and personality. I have been particularly impressed with how the unit manager's proactively seek feedback. They regularly check in to ensure I'm satisfied and address any concerns I might have. This level of attentiveness is a real strength. What also stands out if the varied range of activities on offer. The activity coordinators are full of energy and enthusiasm, always eager to listen to new ideas and bring them to life. Their commitment to caring to individual interests and needs is truly commendable. Overall, our experience at Oaklands has been hugely positive and I'm deeply grateful for the wonderful care and attention my dad receives.

Meet the Team (6)

Cristina's main role is to continue to strive and deliver the high standards of care at Oaklands. Her role is diverse and includes supporting and empowering all the staff, nurses and care assistants that work at Oaklands Care Home.

Hi, my name is Gabriela, but everyone knows me as Gabby. I qualified as a Registered Nurse in Romania, but over the past 8 years have worked in the United Kingdom for over 10 years, 8 of which have been in a dementia community. I joined Barchester in 2017 as a nurse and was promoted to Unit Manager and then home clinical lead in 2019. I work with great patience and empathy, ensuring the best quality of care is given throughout our home.

I have been working as a nurse for over 20 years. I have experience in ICU, mental health and elderly care. I am currently working in Willow Drive, which is a unit for younger physically disabled residents. I love my job and my brilliant team.

Jane joined Oaklands as a receptionist in 2009. She began taking on Administrative roles within the Company and now holds the post of Administrator, leading a team of Administrative Assistants.

Rebecca joined the company in August 2022. With her attention to detail and commitment to her job, it was evident from the start that she had a promising career ahead of her. In August 2023 she was promoted to head of the housekeeping team in Oaklands Care Home. Although she's young, she has strong leadership skills and has managed to build up a solid team who have tremendous pride in their work.

Peter joined Oaklands in May 2022 and is striving to deliver the right first-time impression for all the residents, their families and their friends by giving them the home and garden they deserve; one where they can feel relaxed and at home.
