Chase Park, is a CQC registered care home located in a beautiful and tranquil setting in Whickham, Gateshead, minutes away from Whickham’s shopping centre.

The care home provides specialist nursing care, therapy input and rehabilitation for individuals aged 16 and over who have nursing needs or have an acquired brain injury, neurological condition, learning disability or complex physical disability.

Uniquely the specialist centre has an NHS trained therapy team including physiotherapists and occupational therapists on-site. There is also a hydrotherapy pool and gym making this a high standard rehabilitation centre.

Chase Park offers both long- and short-term nursing placements, as well as respite care. The building has wide corridors, elevators and the majority of rooms have en-suite wet rooms as well as tracking hoists allowing a range of conditions to be cared for.

Service users also have access to a comprehensive rehabilitation programme, high-quality nursing support, as well as holistic therapy and treatments in the health club, designed to be accessible to people of all ages and abilities.

The care provider ensures people are supported to maintain and develop daily living skills and social interests. A wide ranging activities programme has been developed and the centre has beautiful gardens and access to local parks. The centre is also within walking and driving distance of shops.

Neurological care and rehabilitation is a major focus and the specialist nurses are supported by NHS trained occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech and language therapists. Consultant neurological review and neuro-psychological input is also available in specific cases.

A wide spectrum of younger and older adults can be cared for with a range of nursing needs and neurological conditions in a beautiful and tranquil setting in the North East.

Mam has come on amazingly since being here; her progress is brilliant. The staff are all lovely, friendly and very helpful, they take really good care of her, and she likes being in here. Can't thank them enough for taking care of her as it's not always easy to get here, living so far away from here.

My father was a resident at Chase Park Neuro Centre for the past couple of years or so, receiving palliative care. He sadly passed away in August.
The care my father received was great. He was treated with kindness and compassion.
The clinical lead and family liaison officer were exceptional and
truly cared for my father and his well-being which meant a great deal to our family. His best interests were always at the forefront.
Towards the end, we were able to visit my father 24 hours a day and my mother stayed with him through the night.
At such a difficult time we could rely on Chase Park to meet my father's medical needs so we could focus on keeping him as comfortable as possible and creating a calm and loving environment for him.

Today I said goodbye to my husband, who had lived at Chase Park for seven years. Throughout my husband's stay, the staff became my friends, people that I could talk to, and I knew pretty quickly they would give my husband the best care and attention that he needed. He came to the nursing home chair-bound,
bed-bound, and later peg fed, so his existence was pretty miserable. Every day my husband would have many staff coming into his room just to say "hello" as well as deal with his everyday needs. They didn't just come in to say hello; they came to show that they cared, and this is why I would recommend anyone who is looking into placing a loved one into specialist care to seriously consider Chase Park. The staff are the kindest, friendliest, caring, and most wonderful people that were my pleasure to meet. This is not just a job for them; they are there because they want to be there, they want to give, and they want to help. The biggest hearts are found at Chase Park. Thank you so much.

All staff are very helpful and cheerful and always happy to listen to my concerns although sometimes don't carry out my recommendations which I repeatably ask, i.e. not to be in a wheelchair for over 4 hours.

I live in Derby and am the only relative. I keep in contact with my sister-in-law via an arranged Facebook call every week through a member of the administration staff. Thus I am able to see and talk with my sister-in-law.
The staff looking after her needs are mainly known to me and I find them all
great. They are caring and during my discussions with them have always been useful and informative so I get a feeling of what is happening to my sister-in-law!

I find the staff very friendly and helpful, always help me with my son's bags. They seem to know my son's needs and what he enjoys and doesn't enjoy (likes to spend time alone without too much noise) depending on his mood. Every day is different so he can be quite challenging and hard work until you

Attended Jubilee celebrations June 2022. Lovely, relaxed environment with live music outdoors, tea party with residents, family, friends and staff. Good selection of foods and drinks and tombola with a good selection of prizes. Staff are always very friendly and welcoming and try to engage as many residents

My brother has been in Chase Park Neuro Centre for many years and has always received excellent care. Whenever we go to visit, the staff and other residents are always friendly and happy, they would go above and beyond to help you. My brother always looks clean and well cared for and loves all the staff.
We never had to worry throughout the Covid-19 pandemic as they kept in touch and let us know how he was doing. They recently had a Jubilee party which was excellent, lovely food, a live band and raffles. You feel like you're part of a big family when you go to visit and are always made welcome.

Over the six years my brother has been a resident at Chase Park Neuro Centre, the staff have learnt to adapt and respond to his specific needs and have also made us feel as though we are part of the 'family', that is Chase Park's strength. We are so very grateful that they all kept my brother and all
residents and visitors safe and cared for during the pandemic. It has been a very hard time for carers, taking the place of family when we could not be there. Yet they are still smiling! Thank you all for the super Platinum Jubilee party - getting us all back together in happiness and fun. You're stars.

My husband, who is a resident in Chase Park Neuro Centre, had his 60th birthday. The family liaison person made the experience for me, my husband and family a lovely experience. She went above and beyond making it an enjoyable time. It meant a lot that my husband could celebrate his birthday with us

Since my friend arrived at Chase Park Neuro Centre in November 2021, the staff involved in his around the clock care have been outstanding. All of the staff, including physios, support workers, one-to-one support workers and management, are always approachable and go over and above to give my friend
the highest level of care. The progress I have seen over the past five months in my friend is remarkable. The physiotherapy has without a doubt helped him and having the offer of hydrotherapy several times per week has also played a key part in his recovery.

My Dad has lived at Chase Park Neuro Centre for over ten years now due to a brain injury and as my dad needed specialist care, I can honestly say that I am so pleased I chose Chase Park Neuro Centre for him to live. Chase Park Neuro Centre excels in every way and they have made my dad's journey as comfortable
as possible. Not only do they care in a practical sense for their own client and give them the very best of care but they also care in the respect that they help to maintain family connections too and they truly understand the importance of this. In December my Dad became ill and we realised there was nothing more we could do for him. It was one of the worst experiences of my life and struggled with the whole situation until the end. Thankfully the staff at Chase Park were absolutely brilliant. They made sure my Dad was as comfortable as he
could be and gave him the best care they could. You could see how much they cared for my Dad and how much it was affecting them all. They also took great care of my brothers and I. We stayed with my Dad all the time until the end and everyone made sure we were well looked after. Anything we needed, even a chat someone was always there with us. In the most difficult situation, they made it that little bit easier and I will forever be grateful for what they did for my whole family.

My partner went into Chase Park Neuro Centre for respite care but unfortunately deteriorated due to Parkinson’s and dementia. The staff tried all ways to encourage dietary intake from chef to care staff encouraging her. The care she received was personal to her needs and nothing was too much trouble,
treating her with dignity and respect. The support for the family was very much appreciated.

Niraj Brahmabhatt

Job Title: Company Director

Niraj qualified in 2006 and subsequently worked in the NHS and at the national hospital for Neurology, Queen square. Niraj was then involved in conducting clinical trials for Multiple Sclerosis and worked in Neurorehabilitation centres both within the NHS and independent sector. Niraj is the Director and responsible individual of Renal Health Ltd which owns and runs Chase park Neuro centre. Chase park neuro centre in Whickham, Gateshead is a 60 bed specialist nursing and rehabilitation centre set in beautiful surroundings and has its own therapy team, gym, hydropool and neuro-psychological input.

Qualifying as a Registered General Nurse in 1990, Iain specialised in critical care nursing and worked in various hospital settings, specialising in trauma and spinal injuries. Iain went on to gain valuable experience working within the NHS as a Service Manager for various acute and community services. Iain has over 10 years of experience as a Clinical Director in Neurological care.
