I find the staff to be pleasant and helpful. My mum loves all the staff, she is always smiling and is very happy. She says that she feels very safe in her home.

The entertainment, activities and fun from Bingo to singing and dancing. It's all geared to the resident's needs. The activities coordinator who supplies most of what's going on is exceptional and gets on really well with the "inmates" as my Dad likes to call himself!

Reply from Mike Higginson, COO at Romford Care Home

Thank you for your review I am pleased to see you Dad enjoys the activities with as he says the other "inmates"... I hope you both and your family have a wonderful Christmas, thanks again.

My brother has been in the home for four weeks. In that period I have seen a major change in his confidence. He is communicating and joking with the staff and generally very much at home.
He is eating well and settled.

The staff are friendly and obviously taking an interest in the wellbeing of their guests 5*

My 92 year old mother has "early stage" vascular dementia and requires 24/7 supervisory care. 12 months ago, we had to find a care home to share the responsibility of looking after her in unison with her "live-in" carer. Having visited several homes in the borough, the Romford Nursing Care Centre stood out as by far the best fit for my mother's needs. She now looks forward to her time there, having made numerous friends. All the staff, from the management team to the carers and nurses have always been very professional, accommodating and they treat my mother with the dignity a lady of her age deserves. There are numerous activities, including painting, flower arranging, sensory pet visits, bingo and hairdressing. Her room is always clean and is very comfortable. We are extremely pleased with the choice we made and would not hesitate to recommend this home to others.

We have found all aspects of the care home to be very good. The adjustment for us as a family was very tough but the care staff, cleaners, office staff and all people involved have helped us to make it as smooth as possible. We can come in at any time and the staff keep in touch with us and are available for us.

Thanks to everyone for all that they do here.

My mum has been a resident here for one month and she has been shown nothing but kindness. The care she receives is very good and she really enjoyed the recent Halloween party (so did I). I can't wait for the Christmas festivities. The food is very good. I can ring anytime to see how she is. The home is very clean. I am very happy that my lovely mum is being well taken care of.

Reply from Mike Higginson, Chief Operating Officer at Romford Care Home

Dear Christine thank you so much for your positive review it is lovely when kind people take the time to appreciate what is good in care especially when sometimes there is so much negativity in the media as has appeared sadly this week again. Thank you.

My father has only been in the Romford Nursing Care Home for a short while but to see the change in him is fantastic. He had previously spent some time in the hospital. He wasn't happy and began to shut down. He had spent a week earlier in the year in the care home and had settled in very nicely but became unwell. No fault of the care home. After much negotiations with the home, hospital and social services because of outside problems, he is now back at the home which he had asked to go back to. He is very happy and is pleased to be back. The cleanliness is very good. The staff are wonderful and that's right across the board from caretaker to management. Nothing is too much trouble. He enjoys the food and has begun to put on weight. He has started to mix a little bit with other residents and is asked if he wants to get involved in some of the activities which are on offer. All in all, as long as he is happy we are very happy.

My husband spent 22 months on Manor Unit at The Romford Nursing Care Centre. During that time he had exemplary care and found all the staff to be kind, caring and extremely helpful. When my husband came out of hospital to spend his final weeks the care was first class. My husband went into hospital without a pressure sore in sight but ten days in hospital saw him return with very bad lesions. Within a week of him being back, with the vigilant care he received we saw a massive improvement, some had actually healed entirely due to the excellent care he received from all the staff. I visited almost daily and was always made to feel welcome, the staff were kindness itself.
