From what I've seen Nan is treated kindly by the staff. She was moved to LC right before covid and her mental health has declined very significantly since being there - likely at least in part related to lack of visitors. It's been hard to arrange visits, which given this is what Nan needs and wants, is sad. When I call I'm usually passed around and often am asked to call again and again. This has resulted in me missing slots to see her, as others have been luckier. I have to take time off work to see Nan and it's frustrating then to be told there are no gaps when I've called many times and not been able to book to see her.

Generally, my overall experience has been positive. My mother is well cared for, has fitted in well with the care home routine and is happy. The home manager is cheerful, positive, supportive and always has time to discuss my mother's wellbeing. There are some excellent staff, but a small minority of staff who seemed bored at time and regress to doing the bare minimum. One staff member is a "pot stirrer" who adversely influences others.

My father who has now passed away had been treated very well and with respect and courtesy. Consideration of his needs was paramount and the staff were always polite and caring in attending to him. I am sure this made his residence more comfortable and pleasant.

Only one month in so far, but it has been an impressive month. As my mother lived 100 miles away her assessment was arranged via Skype. When I brought her to Lancaster Court 2 days later her room was ready and she like it straight away, just as she also like her kindly care workers and the meals. It is a lot of money, but I do not regard it as expensive in view of the large number of staff involved, and the quality of the accommodation. The staff were brilliant in the run up to corono virus, allowing visits from family for as long as they could, whilst doing all they could to keep residents safe.

The staff at Lancaster are friendly, helpful and smiley. It would be good if there were more activities and/or outings. Some of the rooms need shelving for residents' belongings. Quite a few of the dining room chairs need a good scrub. Some of the furnishings and armchairs look tired and need updating.

The atmosphere is homely and relaxed.

Initially, my brother in law was being cared for at Lancaster Court. The care was phenomenal.
Now my sister has been a resident at Lancaster Court for over 5 years. The care she has and still does receive, is as her husband received, phenomenal, way above standard in all departments.

The relationship between staff and relatives is exceptional. Thank you Runwood.

My mother came from a 13-week stay in hospital confused also had lost mobility. The environment at Lancaster Court is very homely and caring. Staff are long-serving and kind. She is now quite frail but the good care and food means she is now better than she has been for some years. Thank you.

In the main, we have very little to worry about because mum is happy in Lancaster Court and her carers are lovely and we know she is safe and well looked after. The food could be improved and on occasions, mum has a ready meal instead of what is offered. The temperature this summer has been an issue and we were obliged to buy an air conditioner because at one point it was 92 degrees (F) in her room. This is a problem that needs sorting out.

I have been at the care home now for nine months and I am well looked after and cared for. I have a very nice room which is kept beautifully clean and tidy. I enjoy the food and have made new friends. I would like to be involved in more activities as I am quite fit and able still.

Mum was lucky enough to be placed here in June 2018 following a very long spell in hospital. From the moment you arrive you can feel the friendliness of the home in all areas, it's just like being in your own home only better.

The staff are all excellent, very attentive and caring at all times to the residents and also to the visitors, they strive to make it a very welcoming and homely environment and totally achieve this. Activities and differing visitors are arranged for the residents plus outings for those who are able.

The rooms are a lovely size with plenty of space for your own furniture too plus a spacious en-suite. The little tea room is just lovely and to be enjoyed anytime with family and friends. Memorabilia is everywhere, perfect for those with memory problems and great also for those to just enjoy.

Would have no reservations about recommending Lancaster Court.

We can't thank them enough for helping and looking after Mum so well.

Dad (age 96) moved into this home in September and has found the staff caring, respectful and thoughtful. We were able to sort out the few initial problems, mainly to do with changes in medication, with little difficulty. We've been able to take some of his furniture and possessions, and a booster unit has been installed to give him a connection to the internet. Dad is reassured to be in a place where he has assistance when needed and it has put our minds at rest as well.
