My relative has been a resident for nearly three years. We love the staff, the amenities, the level of care, the food and the way the staff have handled the last difficult year. Lancaster Court has a caring and friendly atmosphere and you always feel welcome.

All through the pandemic the team from Lancaster Court has kept us up to date with phone calls, emails, newsletters and introduced a Zoom call for residents families with the manager. This has been especially important for those of us that live a long way from the home. My family and I are impressed
with the resilience, professionalism and first-class care that has been given by the team 24/7. It was with great excitement and support that the senior team helped me plan my first visit in over a year to see my mum, and I was able to see first hand the high standards in place to ensure a covid secure environment.

My mother has been extremely well looked after by Lancaster Court. The home itself is managed extremely well.
All the staff work very hard always approachable and readily available.
They are kind and considerate and always treat my mother with dignity.

My mother moved into Lancaster Court in January 2016 and has always been very happy there. She praises the staff telling how well she is looked after and how much she enjoys her meals. Before the pandemic, we used to visit Mum regularly. The staff were always very welcoming and approachable, and the
home always very clean. During the pandemic, I have seen Mum with window visits, so can see she is still happy and I can always contact the home and ask how Mum is. I am always contacted promptly if there are any concerns. We could not wish for a better home for Mum.

Dad only spent a short spell in Lancaster Court and we had limited access due to COVID-19. However, we could see that he was well looked after. The staff is wonderful and we will be forever grateful for the care they gave him.

From what I've seen Nan is treated kindly by the staff. She was moved to LC right before covid and her mental health has declined very significantly since being there - likely at least in part related to lack of visitors. It's been hard to arrange visits, which given this is what Nan needs and wants,
is sad. When I call I'm usually passed around and often am asked to call again and again. This has resulted in me missing slots to see her, as others have been luckier. I have to take time off work to see Nan and it's frustrating then to be told there are no gaps when I've called many times and not been able to book to see her.

Generally, my overall experience has been positive. My mother is well cared for, has fitted in well with the care home routine and is happy. The home manager is cheerful, positive, supportive and always has time to discuss my mother's wellbeing. There are some excellent staff, but a small minority of
staff who seemed bored at time and regress to doing the bare minimum. One staff member is a "pot stirrer" who adversely influences others.

My father who has now passed away had been treated very well and with respect and courtesy. Consideration of his needs was paramount and the staff were always polite and caring in attending to him. I am sure this made his residence more comfortable and pleasant.

Only one month in so far, but it has been an impressive month. As my mother lived 100 miles away her assessment was arranged via Skype. When I brought her to Lancaster Court 2 days later her room was ready and she like it straight away, just as she also like her kindly care workers and the meals. It
is a lot of money, but I do not regard it as expensive in view of the large number of staff involved, and the quality of the accommodation. The staff were brilliant in the run up to corono virus, allowing visits from family for as long as they could, whilst doing all they could to keep residents safe.

The staff at Lancaster are friendly, helpful and smiley. It would be good if there were more activities and/or outings. Some of the rooms need shelving for residents' belongings. Quite a few of the dining room chairs need a good scrub. Some of the furnishings and armchairs look tired and need updating.
The atmosphere is homely and relaxed.

Initially, my brother in law was being cared for at Lancaster Court. The care was phenomenal.
Now my sister has been a resident at Lancaster Court for over 5 years. The care she has and still does receive, is as her husband received, phenomenal, way above standard in all departments.
The relationship

My mother came from a 13-week stay in hospital confused also had lost mobility. The environment at Lancaster Court is very homely and caring. Staff are long-serving and kind. She is now quite frail but the good care and food means she is now better than she has been for some years. Thank you.

I would like to thank all of the staff at this home for the fantastic way they looked after my mother last year. They are all very caring and helped to make her time in the home as pleasant as possible. The kindness and care in her final days were exemplary and meant such a lot to all her family.

Job Title: Home Manager

My name is Francesca Fosu, and I am a registered nurse with nearly 15 years of experience across a range of care settings, including community care and nursing homes.


Before entering nursing, I worked as a court clerk, but the call to nursing was too strong to ignore. Almost 20 years ago, I made the easy decision to train as a nurse, a decision I have never once regretted. Nursing is not just my profession; it is my passion.


I am deeply committed to ensuring that residents are always treated with the utmost kindness, dignity, and respect. I see it as both a professional duty and a moral obligation to advocate for their well-being at all times.


One of the greatest privileges of my role is meeting remarkable people whose life stories could fill the pages of any book. Their experiences inspire me every day.
