Nick (my husband) has been here at Temple Grove since January 2025. I have complete peace of mind with this Care Home knowing Nick is happy and very well cared for. The staff in the Victoria Unit are all so compassionate, caring + always have time to talk to me. The staff generally I've always felt are first class and brilliant at dealing with dementia patients.

I can't recommend Temple Grove Nursing Home highly enough. They made my client's move as smooth and stress-free as possible, showing kindness, patience, and understanding every step of the way.
The care she has received so far has been absolutely fantastic. Every member of the team has gone above and beyond to meet her individual care needs and make her feel comfortable. They took the time to set up her room exactly how she wanted it, and nothing has ever been too much trouble.
From the maintenance team and activities staff to the carers, office staff, and the wonderful nurse on her unit, everyone has been so caring, supportive, and professional. The nurse in particular is incredibly understanding and always takes the time to listen to my client's needs and concerns.

It's reassuring to know she is in such capable and compassionate hands. Thank you to everyone at Temple Grove for making such a difficult transition such a positive experience.

Mum enjoys being able to relax and not having to do anything. She enjoys going out in the garden and loves the flowers which Carol arranges for her to brighten up her room.

The staff are helpful and caring and she feels well looked after. She likes it here very much and enjoys watching the birds from her room & listening to music on the radio. She thinks the food is delicious.

I've given Temple Grove 'excellent' for every catagory as they have provided impeccable service throughout my mum's stay. My mum has dementia and isn't always the easiest of residents but the team on 'Victoria' ward have without fail treated her with kindness respect and dignity. I would recommend them without hesitation. Thank you for taking such good care of my mum.

Review from Stephen R (Partner of Resident) published on 9 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My partner is well cared for by a team of caring and hard working carers. The unit manager in particular is conscientious, empathetic, organised. And quite clearly genuinely cares for my partner. The number of staff to patient ratio is very good also. They do genuinely try hard to create a safe and caring environment and the entertainment programme is given a lot of thought.

Reply from Eileen Allison, General Manager at Temple Grove

Thank you so much for taking time to write this wonderful review. The team who care for your partner will be so pleased to read this and I am proud of them all. They certainly do work hard to provide an excellent standard of care. I will be very happy to share this feedback with them.

Staff excellent, friendly, efficient. There has been cost-cutting in several areas, without consideration for residents. The garden needs more gardeners.

Reply from mark ellison, Owner at Temple Grove

Many thanks for taking the time to review our service. We are surprised you feel there has been cost cutting. We have just completed an extensive refurbishment of the interior and exterior of the home. We have not reduced our headcount and indeed continue to staff substantially above other homes....

This is an exceptional care home, a loving, joyful place where residents are treated with understanding and an excellent level of care. Residents are never just placed in a room in front of a TV, but are provided with a daily programme of fun and stimulating activities. Residents appear to feel happy and safe.

Prior to my mother coming to live at Temple Grove I lived with a level of constant anxiety that something concerning her health or care would need my assistance. Since living here, I feel so supported by all the staff. They look after my mother's every needs and I walk away reassured that she is safe and properly cared for. The staff keep me fully informed and both my brother and I are so pleased we chose Temple Grove.

My wife was diagnosed with Alzheimers four years ago and, after several falls which left her severly disabled, she was welcomed as a resident of this care home some 2 months ago. My answers to the review reflect the opinions of both me and my wife but also our 3 children. Everyone is delighted with the home, its staff and surroundings and the way in which my wife has been smoothly integrated into this new way of life. Temple Grove fully justifies its outstanding rating.

Overall Experience

My mother has been at Temple Grove for 3.5 years. She is very happy there, enjoys chatting with the staff and I am delighted with the care and support she receives. She loves her room that looks out onto the garden and watching the wildlife. I am impressed by the friendly welcome from reception, unit staff, senior management and all you pass in the corridors. Being privately owned, Temple Grove has a personal feel with the owner Mark being a visible presence and taking a personal interest. The Activities Team work very hard and provide a packed programme. The level of care is first class and I am contacted/updated if my mother has any health issues. Once, when looking to discharge, hospital staff were surprised at how keen Temple Grove was to have my mother back. Another time, an ambulance crew said that they had never experienced such a range of tests/checks pre-arrival and thorough handover from a care home. It is reassuring to know that my mother is being cared for so well.

Reply from mark ellison, Owner at Temple Grove

It's lovely to hear that your mother is so happy, she is a much loved member of the community. I will pass on your kind words to all the staff who will be delighted to hear you value their hard work. I cannot fault the home for the amazing care and attention given to my mother! It means we as a family can be more relaxed about frequency of visits and worry less about her. She seems really happy and that's the best thing we could wish for

I have nothing negative to say at all about the home which is truly exceptional in my view. Well managed with without exception fabulous staff (who are a constant presence i.e. little turnover) and facilities and lots of activities & good food.

Placed mum there initially for respite care, after 2months she said 'I'd like to stay can you ask them if I can keep this room'

A recent comment to me by the Manger says it all really 'we always say we work in their home'

My Grandmother is a resident at Temple Grove and I can't say enough about how kind, compassionate and professional the team looking after her are. They seem to strike the right balance between being attentive to her needs but still giving her space when she wants to be alone. I fully trust them to keep her safe and happy.
