We have had a very positive experience with all aspects of Temple Grove since our mother moved in, in September. She has been made to feel very welcome and every staff member has gone out of their way to make her feel comfortable, relaxed and a member of the community at T.G. She is greeted by name
whenever she passes anyone in corridors or communal areas and is treated with respect. We would highly recommend Temple Grove to friends and family.
Reply from mark ellison, Owner at Temple GroveMany thanks for taking the time to write a review, its always lovely to hear positive feedback. I'm glad to hear your mother is fitting well at Temple Grove, I known the staff are extremely fond of her.
Many thanks

My father is currently a resident at Temple Grove. The care he is receiving there is nothing short of brilliant. We had a difficult time convincing him he needed to move somewhere for full time care, but as soon as he moved to Temple Grove he loved it. The staff and all involved running it are amazing,
kind and caring people. They keep myself and our family updated regularly about Dad, with everything from his medical needs to what he has been doing. Him being there has made our lives a lot easier knowing he is somewhere that he's properly looked after by trustworthy people.

My Mum has been in Temple Gove now for about 6 months. She could not be happier. My sister and I can see a real difference. The staff have been lovely to us, always smiling and chatting. They are all a real credit to the caring profession.

A post Christmas lunch for 7 of us was carefully laid

out in the dinning room. We were not rushed and it was delight to have my Mum at a dining table for a couple of hours. I cannot remember the last time that happened.

On the medical side Temple Grove have taken away all the stress and anxiety relating to Doctor and Hospital stays. This has allowed my sister and I to be her children again, not her carers. Thank You.

My mother has been living at Temple Grove for nearly 2 years. She has received excellent personalised care during this time and the staff have always kept me informed about her condition and any treatment required. She is very settled and content in this home and the care staff are attentive to her
needs. There seem to be a lot of activities provided for residents but my mother has not been keen to participate. I visit once a month and often book to have lunch in the dining room with my mother. When making these bookings, the information has not always been passed on from the reception staff to the catering and care staff, which at times has meant that my mother was not ready to go to the dining room or that a table had not been prepared for us. On these occasions, both the care and catering staff have always been quick to accommodate us at short notice, however I think that there is room for improvement in the internal communications between admin, finance, care and catering staff.

My husband with Alzheimers/Dementia came to Temple Grove in January 2025, following my looking after him for two years at home. I have total peace of mind that he has the best care here. The staff in his unit and all at Temple Grove are Compassionate, incredibly kind, very professional with no corners
cut. I did visit perhaps five others beforehand but on my first visit to Temple Grove I knew this was Perfect!

My father has been at Temple Grove Care Home for nearly a year and has received exceptional care. The staff have been incredible; they genuinely care about the residents. The home is absolutely beautiful and spotless! My dad's room has a lovely vista over the garden. There is entertainment every day
in the communal areas and lots going on. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Temple Grove. My father is so happy there and we are happy that he is safe and being cared for so well.

Mum has several medical issues which are going to result in end of life care. She has had several awful trips into hospital recently and her condition worsened. Due to the comfort and care she has received at Temple
Grove she is now improving daily. This is due to attentive and reactionary staff, balanced
nutritional meals that are home cooked and appetising.
The staff have put us as a family at ease. We were struggling to cope with her at home, and this has been a weight lifted so we can now concentrate on the nicer things with mum. We know that her time is limited but have faith in the processes put in place that Temple Grove and their staff will manage much of this on our behalf.
The staff are all kind, considerate and friendly and l would gladly recommend anyone needing care to check in .

My husband has been a Temple Grove resident now for two months, after a difficult year of us trying to cope at home with the effects of a variety of health issues as well as the early stage of vascular dementia. I have been greatly assured as to the quality of care he is receiving, delivered with
infinite care and attention to detail - and good humour. Wherever we go at Temple Grove, we are greeted by name and a smile, it makes such a difference. Everything I have experienced so far at Temple Grove speaks highly of their approach to Residential Care and is clearly reflected in staff training.

I am next of kin for my elderly aunt and after a few years of resistance, worsening dementia several falls she agreed to go for some respite care. The manager made the whole process so much less stressful and when she and the staff visited my aunt they were wonderful with her. She has now been at Temple
Grove for 4 weeks which has flown by and has become a fully-fledged long-term resident. Every contact I have had with the team, special shout out to the staff member, has been friendly and lovely. My Aunt is so much brighter and happier. Thanks guys for your support and making it a great transition for my Aunt. I can't speak highly enough of Temple Grove. We are thrilled.
Reply from Catalin Gyulai, General Manager at Temple GroveThank you very much for your kind words; they are greatly appreciated. I'm glad to hear that your aunt is happy at Temple Grove and that the transition process has been less stressful. Moving from one's home to a nursing home can indeed be a traumatic experience, and our team is committed to ensuring a smooth transition for all residents. We take pride in being supported by our amazing staff, who consistently do an outstanding job. Their dedication and hard work contribute significantly to the well-being and satisfaction of our residents.

My mother was a long-term resident in Temple Grove. Throughout her eight years she came to be a friend of many members of staff. In the earlier years she enjoyed the activities, in her later years, she was cared for with incredible devotion and skill. We have been so comforted by the knowledge that
she being looked after so well. I thoroughly recommend Temple Grove.

At first glance, it might appear that I have completed this review without too much thought. That is not the case.
I have been visiting for eight months, I have not found anything that I have needed to bring to anyone's attention - it really is that good.
A very big plus is the continuity of having
permanent staff.

I placed my aunt at Temple Grove following a recommendation by the manager of a local care home because she needed 24-hour nursing and care following a stay in hospital for pneumonia. The overall package of care provided by the staff at Temple Grove was excellent from the admin staff, the care and nursing
staff, led from the top by the two owners. My aunt enjoyed her end-of-life care at Temple Grove, which ended today as she passed away with my wife and I at her bedside.
Reply from Mark Ellison, Owner at Temple GroveRoger My sincere condolences at your Aunt's passing. Thank you for taking the time to write your kind words. Excellent. Temple Grove has a very caring and solicitous staff, very professional, and always respectful. Importantly they are proactive, identifying potential issues and concerns and discussing them with us. Our parent's care is clearly the top priority for them. Although frequently busy, they always
have time for my parents and have provided companionship as well as professional care. We have both parents in care, both in their mid-90s - frail but competent. In many ways, this presents different challenges from other residents, but Temple Grove has risen splendidly to the challenge, for example supplementing their many social activities with personalised excursions such as local outings for tea or to visit local sights (all with support/supervision of course). Care homes are expensive; but as we have seen the level of attentiveness and care our parents have received, we do not begrudge the cost.

When finally deciding to place my son in a nursing home we visited Temple Grove and we were very impressed and felt very reassured that he would be safe and happy and that his care was of the greatest importance to the home as it is to us. He has settled in well by being made to feel welcome and included
the same as we are when we come to visit him. Going forward we feel the home can accommodate all of his needs now and as his condition progresses.

From the first day that my mother arrived everyone has been lovely to her. She has been made very welcome and has become very comfortable in the home environment. I would

My mother-in-law was becoming increasingly frail and in need of respite care. Her home was 150 miles from us, totally unsuited for her needs and her husband was no longer able to give much assistance. My daughter did a lot of research into local care homes and was impressed with Temple Grove. We were
shown around by the Welfare Officer, an amazing ambassador. Everyone we met was warm, friendly and genuinely welcoming. The facilities and rooms were spotless and delightful. We moved her into Temple Grove in late January and she settled in very quickly. Her room was bright, spacious, well-appointed and overlooked delightful gardens. Sadly, within a few short days, her health took a major turn for the worse and we lost her shortly after. All of the Temple Grove team were caring gentle and kind throughout this period. We can't give enough praise for the home and its team, simply outstanding. Thank you everyone.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.878)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.878) out of 10 for Temple Grove is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.878 for Temple Grove is calculated as follows: ( (209 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 237 Ratings = 4.878
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Temple Grove is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
