When finally deciding to place my son in a nursing home we visited Temple Grove and we were very impressed and felt very reassured that he would be safe and happy and that his care was of the greatest importance to the home as it is to us. He has settled in well by being made to feel welcome and included the same as we are when we come to visit him. Going forward we feel the home can accommodate all of his needs now and as his condition progresses.

Thank you very much for your kind words. I am so glad to see your son settling so well at Temple Grove. We understand that the transition from home to a nursing home can be very daunting, for both residents and family members, however, we are doing our best to make this transition as smooth as possible.

As with any move from private homes to nursing homes, this can be challenging and we were concerned as to how my mother would cope. From the first day that my mother arrived everyone has been lovely to her. She has been made very welcome and has become very comfortable in the home environment. I would especially like to mention the person who has taken mum out on trips and done all he can to help her. Thank you.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write your kind words, which I know our staff will greatly appreciate. I am glad to hear your mother has settled so well and we will ensure we do all we can to ensure she continues to enjoy her time with us. Thank you.

Temple Grove is such a wonderful place for Mum. She settled in immediately and the staff are genuinely kind, compassionate and care so much. I don't worry one bit and know when I'm not around she has fun and so well cared for. I could not recommend this home highly enough.

Review from Jon P (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 14 February 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother-in-law was becoming increasingly frail and in need of respite care. Her home was 150 miles from us, totally unsuited for her needs and her husband was no longer able to give much assistance. My daughter did a lot of research into local care homes and was impressed with Temple Grove. We were shown around by the Welfare Officer, an amazing ambassador. Everyone we met was warm, friendly and genuinely welcoming. The facilities and rooms were spotless and delightful. We moved her into Temple Grove in late January and she settled in very quickly. Her room was bright, spacious, well-appointed and overlooked delightful gardens. Sadly, within a few short days, her health took a major turn for the worse and we lost her shortly after. All of the Temple Grove team were caring gentle and kind throughout this period. We can't give enough praise for the home and its team, simply outstanding. Thank you everyone.

The staff are extremely professional and genuinely care about their residents, unlike the previous home. There is very little turnover of staff which has an extremely positive impact on the care and is a testament to the home management. I cannot the level of care high enough, Temple Grove has been a game changer for my mother.

Reply from mark ellison, Owner at Temple Grove

Many thanks for your response and I'm pleased your mother is enjoying her stay. I'm also glad you have noticed the continuity of staff. We do overstaff to ensure that we don't have agency in the home and ensure we can maintain our levels of care. Our staff ratios are 1:3 compared to the sector standard of 1:6.

Visiting my grandad here was a really enjoyable experience. The staff are extremely hospitable and always had time to talk about my grandfather's treatment. The facilities were always clean and the variety of activities offered to residents was amazing. The staff were amazing at any time of day. My grandfather seemed comfortable and people were always in and out to check on him.

My grandma receives amazing care and the people who attend to her needs are just wonderful! We are always welcomed by everyone we see and the atmosphere of Temple Grove is always calm and friendly. One staff member is wonderful and caring. Another is a joy when he pops in as is the cleaner and the entertainment ladies. The leads of entertainment are so super lovely too, nothing but good things to say.

My mother was a resident at Temple Grove from January 2023 until unfortunately, she passed away in August. Having previously been at a care home where the care was sadly lacking, from the moment my mum arrived the care she received was exceptional and went far beyond that which would be expected.
Mum's needs were fairly complex but the staff always catered for her and did everything possible to ensure she was comfortable. Most importantly, they built a relationship with her and spent time with her and were always there for her when she needed them.
During a difficult period in the weeks before Mum passed away, it was not only the care that was given to Mum that was exceptional but also the support that was given to her family during visits and at her time of passing at which we were present.
I cannot express enough my gratitude to every member of staff for the way they cared for Mum and for the support they gave all of us when she passed.

They are carers who care.

My dad has been so well looked after and supported throughout his time here. It's kept me so much calmer knowing he is being treated as the man he is, not as his disability. Thank you so much (also staff are amazing and really friendly).
