The attention and care that my stepmother has received from the staff at Temple Grove have been outstanding.
It’s very reassuring to know she’s in such a safe and caring environment in these difficult times, and my stepmother also has nothing but praise for the staff that care for her.
Thank you,
Temple Grove.
Highly recommended.

I have visited on many occasions to see my mum and have always enjoyed my time. I cannot speak highly enough of the dignity, care and respect my mum receives. My mum is very happy here, and if she is - I am too; it gives me great peace of mind!

My mother has been a resident at Temple Grove since 2014. She moved there with my father - we chose this home as they were happy to take both parents with their very different needs. Mum had a stroke and was physically disabled and lost her speech, and my father had Alzheimer’s. Dad sadly died a couple
of years ago. We have been very happy with our choice; the staff are wonderful and really care about their patients. It has been particularly reassuring recently during the various lockdowns to know that Mum has been so well looked after with her emotional needs being met with grace, humour and dignity, as well as receiving all the medical care she needs.

My wife has been a resident at Temple Grove for over four years now, and previous to March 2020, I visited every day. Every member of staff I have encountered has treated me with such a warm welcome; I feel like one of the family.
My wife has advanced Alzheimer's, and the care she receives is second
to none. She is treated with the utmost respect and dignity.
I could not wish for a better environment under very difficult circumstance's.

My mother was moved into Temple Grove in October 2020 and has been looked after with great care and professionalism during this terrible time. It is likely she will remain a resident, and we are very happy that she is in their care.

I have been extremely impressed by the level of care my mother has received at Temple Grove. The staff are very kind and caring, and medical attention is top rate. They have managed the pandemic remarkably well, combining practical care with humanity.
I would not hesitate to recommend this care home
to anyone whose family need it.

Have been impressed by the regular updates on the care of my mother - who comments frequently about how happy she is at Temple Grove. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Regular FaceTime calls during the pandemic have been efficiently arranged.

Since my daughter moved into Temple Grove last July, she has received nothing but exceptional care, consideration and friendship from the nursing and care staff. Her general health and wellbeing have improved considerably. She has very complex needs due to her condition and can only be moved using specialist
equipment, which has been carried out with dignity and care. The food is good, and it seems that nothing is too much trouble for the kitchen staff. Since my daughter entered the home during the lockdown, we have not been able to visit her as much as we would have liked, but she seems quite satisfied with the cleanliness and attention to detail by all the staff. They have assisted her in using her iPad and Skype us, which was something very new to her. She is also able to telephone us on a daily basis using the home's landline.

My mother moved into Temple Grove (Care Home) over two years ago after an extended period in hospital following a bad fall, and very quickly settled in and recovered. The home is in a beautiful setting, and the staffing to resident ratios are excellent.
Mum has dementia and can no longer walk, she
is very dependent on 24/7 care. She is very well looked after and remains cheerful and well, despite the awful difficulties of lockdown.
The management and the staff have been absolutely brilliant in keeping Mum safe. The home has been largely free of Covid-19 infection - an extraordinary achievement, compared with many other care homes, and we are so thankful for this.
The home has a very good record of staff recruitment and retention, and all of the staff really do care about all of their residents. Our family can thoroughly recommend Temple Grove.

My grandmother has been a resident of Temple Grove Care Home for the last five years, and in all that time, I can only say that her care has been exemplary. All the staff have been excellent, especially in the trouble times with Covid-19, and the care she has received is second to none.

Temple Grove has consistently provided the highest quality of care for my father since mid-2018. The staff have remained largely the same over this period, which enables them to understand in depth the needs of the patients and develop strong relationships. The home is in a beautiful and peaceful setting,
very well maintained and good food. Throughout the time of Covid, Temple Grove has provided regular updates and has facilitated weekly Skype calls with me and my father. I highly recommend Temple Grove, and I am very grateful to them for the care provided to my father.

Temple Grove has over the last couple of years provided absolutely brilliant care for my parents. The staff have been extremely efficient, friendly and helpful both to my parents and to our family. An amazing effort over the last 12-months to keep the place Covid free. Nothing has ever been too much.
Great atmosphere, great staff and really superb nursing care when it is required. I would happily recommend Temple Grove to anybody looking for residential care. Staff turnover is extremely low, with few, if any, agency staff. Whether management, nursing, cleaning or catering remarkably high standards!

Without exception, we have found the staff to be caring, compassionate and professional. This includes medical observations, activity provision, personal hygiene and high quality of food provision. In addition, we, as a family, have had the support and understanding from the staff and management, which
we have really appreciated.
Temple Grove is set on unique grounds giving peace, tranquillity and the beauty of nature which can be viewed from my husband's room.
Communication is excellent from all quarters of staffing.

My mother has been a very happy resident at Temple Grove for the last two years. Now, aged 100-years a birthday, which she celebrated during the lockdown without her family, but caringly celebrated with the staff of the home. A lovely birthday cake was made for her, and she certainly will remember the
day of happiness.
The staff from carers to handyman, cooks, entertainment girls and management are always kind and efficient. Every special request she has is handled with care, and every effort is made to provide quickly.
The rooms are spacious, and in my mother's case, furnished with her own possessions. The country position and accessible gardens are lovely. There are always a lot of birds to watch, and on one occasion, a deer.
There is a good relationship with the local surgery.
Altogether, my mother and her family are completely happy with her care and cannot recommend the home highly enough.

The staff at Temple Grove are totally dedicated to the care, happiness and well-being of my father.
My father suffers from Parkinson’s and dementia. The staff provide me with regular updates on his health, what they are doing to support him, from medical updates to what social interaction he is receiving.
During this Covid period, I could not wish for him to be in a better place. Temple Grove really is an exceptional care home.

My father moved into Temple Grove in March 2020 just before lockdown. Despite the extremely difficult circumstances and being cut off from friends and family, he has been happy, comfortable and well cared for.
As his daughter, I have had no need to worry that his specific needs aren't being met. Communication
from the home is regular and informative. If I ever have a question, it is always easy to speak to someone, and the staff are always helpful and courteous.
The staff really do put my father's needs first and foremost, from how he would like his room to seeking new medications to alleviate his physical symptoms.
The home itself is well laid out and sits amid beautiful grounds. The rooms are comfortable and of a good size.
Both I and my father are really pleased with the all-round care he receives.

My aunt came to Temple Grove in June 2020 after a month in hospital following a stroke. I had been very worried as I really didn’t think she would be happy anywhere other than in her own home. We hadn’t been able to visit her in the hospital or visit Temple Grove before she was transferred, because
of lockdown restrictions, but she settled in very well and when we were finally able to visit, we were impressed by everything we saw. It’s a calm and welcoming place, with a friendly atmosphere and capable staff who took the trouble to get to know my aunt and make her feel at home.

Her various nursing needs are dealt with very professionally, and her diet is adapted to her particular requirements. Visits have sometimes had to be suspended because of Covid rules, but we are always able to telephone each other for a chat. My aunt is comfortable and feels safe, and I’m happy to know she is being looked after with kindness and dignity.

My mother became very ill with cancer last year and stayed at Temple Grove for the last few months of her life. This is a CQC rated outstanding home, and I can certainly see why. Despite the exceptional pressures Covid has caused, the staff were like angels; not only did they spend time getting to know
my mother, they were also incredibly understanding towards me. My mother would continually tell me how incredibly kind and attentive both the carers and nurses were, not just during the days but also at nights when she couldn’t sleep. I could not fault their professionalism in terms of how they handled my mother’s end of life care. My mother died peacefully and with dignity; I could not have asked for more.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.878)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.878) out of 10 for Temple Grove is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.878 for Temple Grove is calculated as follows: ( (209 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 237 Ratings = 4.878
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Temple Grove is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
