The staff at Temple Grove are totally dedicated to the care, happiness and well-being of my father.

My father suffers from Parkinson’s and dementia. The staff provide me with regular updates on his health, what they are doing to support him, from medical updates to what social interaction he is receiving. During this Covid period, I could not wish for him to be in a better place. Temple Grove really is an exceptional care home.

My father moved into Temple Grove in March 2020 just before lockdown. Despite the extremely difficult circumstances and being cut off from friends and family, he has been happy, comfortable and well cared for.
As his daughter, I have had no need to worry that his specific needs aren't being met. Communication from the home is regular and informative. If I ever have a question, it is always easy to speak to someone, and the staff are always helpful and courteous.
The staff really do put my father's needs first and foremost, from how he would like his room to seeking new medications to alleviate his physical symptoms.
The home itself is well laid out and sits amid beautiful grounds. The rooms are comfortable and of a good size.

Both I and my father are really pleased with the all-round care he receives.

My aunt came to Temple Grove in June 2020 after a month in hospital following a stroke. I had been very worried as I really didn’t think she would be happy anywhere other than in her own home. We hadn’t been able to visit her in the hospital or visit Temple Grove before she was transferred, because of lockdown restrictions, but she settled in very well and when we were finally able to visit, we were impressed by everything we saw. It’s a calm and welcoming place, with a friendly atmosphere and capable staff who took the trouble to get to know my aunt and make her feel at home.

Her various nursing needs are dealt with very professionally, and her diet is adapted to her particular requirements. Visits have sometimes had to be suspended because of Covid rules, but we are always able to telephone each other for a chat. My aunt is comfortable and feels safe, and I’m happy to know she is being looked after with kindness and dignity.

My mother became very ill with cancer last year and stayed at Temple Grove for the last few months of her life. This is a CQC rated outstanding home, and I can certainly see why. Despite the exceptional pressures Covid has caused, the staff were like angels; not only did they spend time getting to know my mother, they were also incredibly understanding towards me. My mother would continually tell me how incredibly kind and attentive both the carers and nurses were, not just during the days but also at nights when she couldn’t sleep. I could not fault their professionalism in terms of how they handled my mother’s end of life care. My mother died peacefully and with dignity; I could not have asked for more.

My mother-in-law was struggling to cope at home, at the relief she felt on entering the supporting environment of Temple Grove was enormous. The staff treat her with such compassion and dignity, and it is clear to see for them, it is not just a job but that they care greatly for all the residents.
It is not just the careers, however, from the management to the nurses, activities and housekeeping there is a real family feel at Temple Grove, and everyone works so hard to ensure that all the residents are happy and that Temple Grove is a proper home.
The home is rated outstanding by the CQC, and it easy to see why, it is so reassuring to have my mother-in-law living where I know she is getting such excellent care, and it is obvious when speaking to the manager and nurses that clinically they are excellent.

Whilst I have not eaten there myself, my mother-in-law raves about the food and has found great comfort in the activity programme and the friends and bonds she has formed at Temple Grove.

I would just like to say thank you to all the Temple Grove staff at every level, particularly the staff of Elizabeth Unit, who nursed and assisted my mother whilst she was a resident.
Mum was severely disabled with Multiple Sclerosis, and as a result, required a high level of care and support, which she received throughout her stay. Mum always spoke very highly of the staff, of their professionalism and their kindness.
When visiting, we were always made to feel very welcome and built a positive relationship with staff.
We have been particularly impressed with how Temple Grove has kept us informed and supported Mum during this very difficult period of Covid.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Temple Grove to others.

Dad was admitted into the home as an interim arrangement from hospital between 8th and 26th March. The fact that it was short term made no difference at all to the way he and the family were treated. The day after admission Dad was up and dressed in his own clothes and sitting in a chair and we were overwhelmed by this improvement. All the staff were caring, respectful and supportive at this very difficult time, nothing was too much trouble for clinical and managers alike. A special shout out to the catering and housekeeping staff who were an absolute joy! Keep up the good work and if you had been nearer to Dad’s home town we would have stayed. Thank you all so much.

Temple Grove is a fantastic care home and probably the best in Crowborough/Uckfield area and surrounding villages and I would recommend it in a heartbeat.

My grandmother has been a resident for 4 years now in the private section although everyone is treated the same with extreme care, dignity, empathy, patience, friendliness and fun. They have respect and are helpful. Nothing is too much trouble plus the manager has turned it around to make it like their home.

We cannot thank all the staff enough for all their kind help in looking after our father. We came away from Temple Grove feeling he is in excellent hands.

Thank you for all your patience and kindness in dressing, caring for his every need, keeping him clean and smartly dressed with excellent personal care. Thank you for all your patience in sitting chatting to him when things have been difficult for him to understand and laughing with him when things have been funny. Thank you all for his superb care. It has been a relief to us all.

My mother is a very independent person and, despite being disabled with Multiple Sclerosis she continued - at 74 years of age - to work every day until very recently. She had lived alone, with visiting careers, since my father passed away five years ago. The decision to move into a care home (and it was HER decision) was not made lightly, but it was clear that she now needs more care than was possible at home. My wife and I looked at Temple Grove for her and were struck by the competency and loving attitude shown by all of the staff there, whether management, care, nursing or facilities. We have never seen one of them without a smile on their face, and we visit every day.

Mum moved in just days before Christmas and was made to feel at home from the very start. We are absolutely confident that she is safe, comfortable and happy, but her words sum up Temple Grove best "Everyone here is lovely. I'm so lucky that you found this place for me, you couldn't have found anywhere better."

I spent a week at Temple Grove for recuperation and recovery following an acute foot operation.
Nothing was too much trouble.
My privacy was respected, whilst there was immediate response to all my needs.
Residents and staff enjoyed a happy atmosphere at all times, which was conducive to my speedy recovery.

I would not hesitate to recommend Temple Grove to friends and family.

Mum was a resident at Temple Grove for six months. From the beginning management and care home staff made the transition from home to care home very smooth. Mum was made extremely welcome by the caring and compassionate staff. Staff were also approachable and friendly to relatives who were obviously anxious at this time. During her time here mum was unable to participate in the many activities available, but she did enjoy going to the dining room to eat her delicious meals. The personal and nursing care she received during her time here was exceptional and she was made very comfortable during her last days. The staff couldn't have been more caring and helpful when she died.

We never wanted my husband to go into a home but walking into Temple Grove, I knew that this was the right place for him. The staff are friendly, full of fun but professional and caring. Since entering the home, my husband's health has improved and severe bed sores are almost healed due to the timely and careful ministrations of the nursing staff. He is eating well, sleeping well and is happy. My family are grateful that they are welcome at any time and no one seems to mind when five of us all turn up at once. As I have told my friends and family who watched us care for him...If I was really poorly I would like to be looked after at Temple Grove.

My mum has been at Temple Grove for 3 and a half months and the care she receives is first rate. Everybody from management to the cleaners has mum's best interests at heart and not only just mum but they care for me and my sisters too. We are kept fully informed to mum's medical treatment with us being involved and having our say in her care. All the staff are very friendly and have time for us and if we have a worry, they have time to discuss it with us and help us work it out. We couldn't recommend Temple Grove highly enough.
