I am always amazed by the loving care demonstrated by you all when I visit my dear friend
Nothing is too much trouble, It is a bright and welcoming place with superb facilities.
The care received here is second to none, everybody is treated with warmth and compassion.
I only wish that my mum could
have been taken care in her last years in such a wonderful home.

Mum has been a resident now for nearly a year and has settled in really well. She raves about the staff and the care that she receives on a daily basis. The meals provided are of good quality and the catering staff will go the extra mile to accommodate mums dietary needs. Overall the staff are kind,
friendly and generous and will ask you when visiting if you would like any drinks. We have also had a Sunday roast when visiting and would recommend it. The atmosphere of the home is calm and friendly and you can sleep at night knowing that Mum is in safe caring hands.

My mother was wonderfully looked after by compassionate staff in the last few months of her life. Every care was taken to provide medical support for her deteriorating condition to keep her as comfortable as possible. She was fussy about her food and every attempt was made to find something she would
like to eat. She was not able to take part in activities but someone always made time to talk to her and to listen to her. There were many kind little touches where staff went out of their way to support her. We were kept informed of her ups and downs. Our welfare was also considered and we were made to feel welcome at any time. Her en-suite room was a good size with basic furniture and she was able to bring in her own possessions. The home is surrounded by well-kept gardens and the ground floor rooms have an external door and a view of the bird feeders and local wildlife. I can highly recommend both the home and the staff.

Staff, administration and management are all committed to a high level of service. Care staff on wards certainly pull together and work as a team which is pleasing to see. Activities and socialisation are very good and relatives freedom of movement. Location and setting excellent. As a regular visitor,
you are welcome and relaxed. Would thoroughly recommend.

My mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer in October and we were told she had weeks to live. Mum stayed at home for as long as she could and then deteriorated overnight, and the staff at Temple Grove worked with us to move Mum into the home quickly and the whole process was smooth.
The care given
to her was exemplary. She never had support before but she said the carer was so kind and compassionate and didn't make her feel like a burden. We could stay with her for as long as possible, we were part of the Temple Grove family even though it was such a short time.
Mum was pain-free, she was made to feel so special to her very last breath, she was not on her own when she passed.
The compassion and kindness rippled through the family. We will always be grateful for all the staff for making a difficult time easier.
We have been invited to the Herons Club which I will certainly attend when the time is right and I can feel able to talk through the feelings of loss and emptiness.

Always friendly staff who offer drinks when with dad. Respond well to requests and the communication between the home and family is good.

Dad has Alzheimers, he "failed" to engage at a home nearer to us but at Temple Grove, he has improved greatly. He looks happy and is putting on weight. We as a

family are delighted and relieved to have found such a good last home for our dad.

My partner is now well on the road to recovery and that is in part due to the professionalism, kindness, integrity, humanity and dignity mixed with its flexibility, openness and overall structure found at Temple Grove Nursing Home during Aug and Sept 2017.

The staff were wonderful, friendly and

hugely supportive of both my partner and myself in allowing us to reach his goals.

The building is set in a wonderful rural location but with a modern layout and visiting hours: I was always welcome even when I left at 11pm.

Using the Heron Club I was allowed to express my feelings openly as a relative and it gave me the help to carry on when sometimes all seemed lost and, as importantly, to help others in the Club with what I had experienced.

He was told in July by the hospital that he would never walk again. He is walking and doing many other things never thought possible back in July. That is very much due to his transfer from the hospital to Temple Grove Nursing Home and then home.

My husband comes to Temple Grove for respite every 4-5 weeks. He is a complex care patient and needs help and assistance with all his needs. He finds his stay at Temple Grove very good and feels he is being cared for extremely well. The staff are very attentive and helpful and I, as his wife, have no
worries with his stay at the home, knowing that he is looked after very well. My husband is PEG fed.

I have nothing but praise for the staff at this home. My husband goes in regularly for respite and is always cared for so well. They also find time for me, a hug or a little chat makes a huge difference. They have made such a difference to our lives and have enabled me to cope better at home by giving
such good respite care to my husband and a break for me.

When you envisage a care home, it can bring a horrible memory. Temple Grove has changed my opinion as it is a wonderful place. The staff are amazing, they really care about their residents. I had a long journey and they made sure that I was Ok, got us drinks and somewhere I could rest as we stayed overnight.
My cousin was treated with dignity and cared for from the staff's hearts. Wonderful people who are professional and caring. Thank you.

I cannot tell you enough how wonderful the staff here are.
It is a big decision to choose a care home for a loved one and we spent so long visiting homes before choosing this one. The staff are all so lovely and you can see that they all genuinely care about their resident's well-being. They have gone
above and beyond to look after my dad and also all of us.
Nothing is ever too much trouble and we are always made to feel 100% welcome. Truly a home from home.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you have done for dad and all of us.

This an excellent care home, set in the countryside, in a beautiful part of the world.
As soon as you enter the building you are struck by the friendly atmosphere and welcomed by the staff.
Standards are high across the board from the support you get to the cleanliness and treatment given.
The staff
work as one big team and management is very hands on and always ready to talk to if need be.
After a short time, you come to realise it's like one big warm family, just what a home should be.
Highly recommend it.

Amazing...The staff are absolutely fantastic. The care they gave my brother was above and beyond. They were constantly checking to see if he needed anything and if he was comfortable. My brother needed extensive care and the staff at Temple Grove were more than capable of dealing with all his needs.
He was comfortable and so were we as a family. The most beautiful home from home.

Three years ago my sister moved from a nearby, more expensive 'deluxe' home, to Temple Grove.
Initially we were worried that things would not be as comfortable and care not as good.
We were so wrong.
Perhaps not quite as luxurious surroundings inside, or such fine food, but far more carers, call
bells answered immediately - always - nothing ever too much trouble, everything done with a smile.
I cannot fault the care, the way we are all greeted when visiting and the kindliness of the staff.
Lovely gardens, good, wholesome food and likes and dislikes always taken into consideration.

Emergency palliative care. The care home has been amazing. Nothing has been too much trouble. They have been considerate, caring and respectful of my step-father. They have supported our family throughout. The nursing staff are kind, professional and always take the time to discuss care needs and changes
in my step-father's condition. Each decision has been a joint decision between my step-father's wishes, medical/clinical need and the family's concerns. The surroundings are beautiful and homely. A perfect balance between clinical need and home.

My mother has Parkinson's Disease and needed nursing care so moved to Temple Grove January 2016. She has a room on the ground floor, with a private wet room and french windows out onto a patio. The home is surrounded by gardens and woodland so she has a lovely view.
Her room is clean and comfortable
and she has many of her own pieces of furniture, pictures etc.
Mum was, of course, apprehensive about moving to a care home but she settled in very quickly and this was helped by the staff who are kind and caring. The nursing staff ensure that she always takes her various medications on time and the carers check on her regularly, often stopping for a chat or bringing her a hot drink.
Mum can stay in her room if she wishes or can join in the regular activities in the communal dinning room. She can also choose whether to join her friends for lunch in the dinning room or she can have it served in her room.
In summary, I know that my mum is safe and happy and is receiving the best care.

I live 300 miles away from a family friend who has been a resident at the home since January 2017.
As I was coming to support her 'end of life', Temple Grove did all they could to make the four days I was there as easy as possible.
I had plenty of time to see the staff at work, and I can truly say
that I was impressed by the friendly staff, the hard work and dedication of staff and the willingness to accommodate both my needs and their residents' needs. I only have one regret, and that is that we weren't able to get my friend to agree to go there earlier. She would have both enjoyed and benefited from it.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.802)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.802) out of 10 for Temple Grove is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.827 for Temple Grove is calculated as follows: ( (187 Excellents x 5) + (37 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 225 Ratings = 4.827
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Temple Grove is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
