As usual, all the staff and management at Roseberry Court continue to support my wife. She is always tired due to her medication. But is happy at the facility. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here, and each time I leave her. I know she is in safe and caring hands.

My Dad came to Roseberry after two weeks in another care home. The difference in him is immeasurable. He is more like his normal self (I've got my Dad back), which is a relief because I love more than 3 hours away. The difference is purely down to the Roseberry environment and the fantastic staff. Nothing
is too much trouble.

My parent was a resident here for 18 months and the staff who looked after her day-to-day were lovely. They do a difficult job but are always friendly, kind, and approachable. At times they are understaffed and because of that, things sometimes lapse. I struggled to get my parent regular showers, sometimes
it was 4 to 5 days and for someone used to having a daily shower, this caused anxiety. I found the management to be more concerned with moving people to unsuitable areas to free up space for new residents, than caring for what was best for the individual. This also caused distress and anxiety to my parent.
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Roseberry Court Care HomeThank you for taking the time to leave a review regarding Roseberry Court and your kind words you have said about the staff. I am sorry to hear that you felt that the home ran understaffed which impacted on your loved one’s daily living of care including not being able to have a shower daily. Our staffing levels are reviewed regularly, and these are based upon the dependencies of all the residents living in our care, we work hard to ensure that our staffing levels do not go below the agreed establishment hours. We have had a positive recruitment drive in the home and can inform you that the home is currently fully staff with experienced colleagues and the home has not used any agency staff for several months. The management regularly review the needs of the residents who reside within the home and ensure that the correct levels of care are provided. We always ensure that we communicate with relatives when we notice changes to their loved ones needs and may possibly need to move to a more suitable area of the home.

My mother has spent her first year in a care home. The year has had its very difficult times, predominantly when her husband died. They entered the home together and were at the beginning of a new period of huge adjustment. My mother and all her family lent very much to all the staff at Roseberry Court.
We depended upon them all to look after our mother. They all totally respected her grief and offered her comfort and understanding. Each staff member have shown genuine professional affection and she has developed a fondness for them all. The home offers the opportunity to socialise with residents during different activities throughout the year. There is an excellent hairdresser which my mother appreciates. All staff members work extremely hard to make this care home ' a home ' on every level. She is treated with dignity and respect.
My mother tells me she likes everyone and is very happy. We can ask for no more. Thank you all.

I am being well looked after by the staff. Most of the carers are helpful and devoted to the job. The rooms are cleaned every day (hoovering etc) There is a large sitting room and a pleasant room for meals. The food is good and the menu varies. This is a pleasant care home.

Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Roseberry Court Care HomeHello and thank you for your feedback. At Roseberry Court, we strive to deliver the best and kindest care possible to our residents. As part of our quality assurance checks, we regularly look at the risks that may be posed to the individuals living in our care and also calculate staffing monthly based on our resident's dependency scoring gained from their dependency calculator. This is reviewed as soon as there are any changes to ensure we are staffed safely. If you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact the general site manager or care manager at the home.

Both of my parents have lived at Roseberry Court Care Home for almost a year. They recently moved onto a different floor within the home, which I was extremely anxious about. The manager and staff were so supportive and made sure their new rooms were prepared and the transition has been remarkable to
say the least. The care, compassion and kindness shown to the residents and their family/ friends is exemplary.

I cannot fault this care home. It is always clean and tidy. The residents are well looked after. All the staff are most kind and friendly and always willing to help in any way. No complications regarding meals, my husband enjoys them. I visit every other day and am always welcome, as are other members
of our family. Carers should have a substantial pay rise!

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.761)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.761) out of 10 for Roseberry Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.761 for Roseberry Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (284 Excellents x 5) + (67 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 360 Ratings = 4.761
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Roseberry Court Care Home is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
