We have both parents in the home. In different areas and we are very happy with the standard of care they are both receiving. The staff are always very helpful. We have had no problems in the six months they have been there.

I find all staff are caring and friendly, and are always ready to help. The regular carers in the Mill Unit are brilliant with residents and deal with difficult jobs sensitively and with good humour, and I find they are always ready to go the extra mile.
Reply from Ernie Botley, Home Manager at Anjulita CourtThank you very much for your positive feedback on the care provided at Anjulita Court, and specifically the staff in the Mill Unit. I have passed this appreciation of their effort to the whole team.

My mum and dad are residents at Anjulita Court and are well looked after and cared for. My dad struggled to settle in when he first moved there, but all staff have gone out of their way to make adjustments to help him. He now seems really happy and clearly gets on well with the staff.
The staff have
arranged for Mum and Dad to eat their lunch together in an area which works well for both of them, even though they have different care needs.
It is sometimes difficult to call the home, particularly after office staff have left for the day, and there have been occasions when I have noticed that I have been called and not been able to get in touch when I call back.
Reply from Ernie Botley, Home Manager at Anjulita CourtThank you very much for your review of Anjulita Court. I have passed your positive feedback to all the team, who have helped your parents settle. I note your comments about phone calls to the home. Out-of-hours responding to the phones by the care team can be challenging, but we are working with staff to improve the response. As we move to a digital voice telephony system, I hope we will have a better facility to direct calls and take messages. Thank you again for your comments.

Since my mum and dad moved into Anjulita Court in December 2023, the staff have been nothing but helpful with their transition. The care that all of the staff and volunteers show to the residents is so lovely to see, and since my mum sadly passed away last April, my dad is still settled and comfortable
living there.
My brother and I could not have found a more wonderful place for our parents to be and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for themselves or a family member/s.
Reply from Ernie Botley, Home Manager at Anjulita CourtThank you for your lovely feedback. I am pleased the team have been able to support both your parents and continue to support your father. Your positive review is much appreciated, and I have shared this with the care and support team.

Very helpful staff on my last visit to my sister.
Anjulita Court seemed very clean and fresh.
The garden is a real asset, and my sister enjoys this and the activities such as poetry readings.
Very attractive architecture.

I’m always impressed by the welcoming atmosphere and the friendly staff. I really enjoy spending time with my close friend, sharing afternoon tea and chatting about our lives. She is very well cared for and is encouraged to do as much as she can for herself. I occasionally take her out, and this is
well-planned and organised. I like attending some events with my friend.

I am so impressed with Anjulita Court Care Home. All the staff are so friendly, those who do the laundry, cooking, carers and managers. I would never have believed my father would be so happy not being in his own home and he has thanked me on numerous occasions for choosing such a good care home. The
standard of care is very high and the weekly calendar of activities provide something for everyone. The purpose-built building is of a very high standard and very attractive in a beautiful setting. The residents can enjoy a lovely garden, next to a country park. The food is also of very high quality and the staff take considerable care to listen to individual’s requests and to consult the residents on improvements to the menus. Another great bonus is the indoor physical therapy pool. I would thoroughly recommend this care home and it has attentive, quality nursing support if needed with excellent links with the local GP surgery.
Reply from Ernie Botley, Home Manager at Anjulita CourtThank you for taking the time to provide the detailed feedback about Anjulita Court. As you say we are lucky to have a lovely building to live and work in. I am pleased to hear that you perceive our staff team to be friendly and considerate to the needs of residents. Mum loves living at Anjulita Court. The staff are fantastic - not just the care staff but everyone; admin, cleaners, kitchen, maintenance. This is what is so incredible about the care. Everyone cares! Mum's favourite activity is swimming in the therapy pool and she gets to do that quite regularly. Our
lives are all made so much easier by mum's love for her new home - and we're always made to feel welcome when we visit too!
Reply from Ernie Botley, Home Manager at Anjulita CourtThank you for the positive comments and ratings about the team at Anjulita. These will be shared with the staff. We are pleased to be able to offer access to the pool on occasion. We recently started a collaboration with a local hydrotherapy service whose physiotherapists will advise on the best exercises in the water. Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you on your visits.

After a year without "nursing care", Mother had a fall, a spell in hospital, and even moved to the "nursing unit"! (I totally appreciate that the care sector is finding recruitment difficult). After several months bed-bound, Mum decided she wants to try to build her strength to try to walk. A physio
gave her exercises, which need support staff. She rarely gets help - even after asking repeatedly, and so is quite unhappy that she is not receiving assistance. I have noticed that dirty cups are not cleaned, she has occasionally been without a jug of water/teeth are not leaned during personal care.
Reply from Ernie Botley, Home Manager at Anjulita CourtThank you for the feedback and our follow-up discussion. I am sorry that your mother had some experiences when she felt unsupported. I note that you feel there is improvement in her care.

My mother was welcomed into Anjulita Court mid April 2022 and hasn't looked back. She is well cared for and enjoys the activities which they offer on a regular basis, especially the music and dancing items. She is treated with dignity and respect and cannot praise the staff enough, from the manager,
office, carers, nursing, minister, kitchen, cleaning, maintenance, hairdresser, chiropodist and activities staff they work as a team and really care about mums health and happiness. I would not hesitate to recommend Anjulita Court. I visited numerous homes, some of which were awful, but on the first visit to Anjulita Court I knew it was the right place for mum.

My Dad was welcomed into Anjulita Court by several cheerful members of staff in February 2022. He has now made this his home enjoying the company of other residents. There are several daily activities for all residents to get involved in, Church services, Quizzes, Baking, Art and Crafts, and recently
a dedicated time for the male members to meet up and reminisce. Everyone got involved with the Jubilee Celebration, Singalong, Afternoon Tea, Disco, all organised by the wonderful Anjulita Court Team. We are very happy with the care Dad is receiving, the home is very clean and well maintained with attentive staff and always available for you to chat too.

At the start of 2021 and still in lockdown both my parents' health deteriorated and it became obvious they each needed dedicated care in a safe environment and this was found at Anjulita Court. For my parents, it meant a wrench from their home 200 miles away in order to be closer to me, their daughter.
Anjulita Court was so accommodating and welcoming and ensured that my parents had their own rooms close to each other. The dedicated care and attention to detail of the wonderful staff soon enabled my parents to feel at home, safe in the knowledge they were being looked after. Initially, I was their designated visitor but as restrictions lifted more family members were welcomed and encouraged to visit which was important for my parents' mental health. Throughout the pandemic, Anjulita Court has kept pace with government guidelines and I have never been made to feel unwelcome or denied access unless it was unavoidable. My mum now receives end-of-life care and I have been granted ECG status.
Reply from Ernie Botley, Home Manager at Anjulita CourtThank you for the lovely feedback about the care provided at Anjulita Court. It has been a difficult time for visiting through the pandemic but we were happy to enable essential family carer visits to keep families involved with the support of residents.

Anjulita Court is a superb care home. All the staff are caring and work tiresomely to make residents have a great stay. The pandemic has been such a difficult time for all and Anjulita has and continues to be excellent in keeping up regular communications with family members. I would especially like
to thank the member of staff who has been caring for my Mother-in-Law since 2016 and the Administration Manager who is very helpful in sorting out any queries and of course the General Manager. In addition to the excellent care that is provided, the staff are always mindful of what would be in the best interests of the residents and have recommended music therapy to my Mother-in-Law who responds well. I thoroughly recommend Anjulita Court.

Mum moved into Anjulita Court in August 2020, a difficult time for everybody and at short notice. From the start, the whole team were incredibly flexible, understanding, and helpful. Whilst she has lived here all the staff, care staff, and administrative, have provided excellent care for her and have
really got to know her. They really appreciate her likes and dislikes and respect her preferences and personality. I don't live locally but they could not have been more accommodating enabling me to visit whilst maintaining infection protection rules and keeping the residents and staff safe. I feel very well informed and have full confidence in the care team, and I am impressed with the management team who seem to be constantly looking for ways to introduce initiatives to keep their residents and families happy. I can recommend this facility wholeheartedly.

Obviously, it’s been a difficult year for everyone with restricted visiting for relatives but Mum appears to be well looked after and well cared for during these tough times. Visits have been facilitated in line with government guidance whenever possible. Activities for residents have, sadly, been very
restricted because of the pandemic.
Reply from Ernie Botley, Home Manager at Anjulita CourtThank you for the feedback to the Anjulita team. Your feedback is very encouraging for the staff team who as you say have worked through the stressful year to maintain safety and care for all residents and each other. We are very conscious of the reduction in activity, especially communal activity in our central foyer as we have kept residents on different units apart for infection prevention reasons. We will be focusing more effort on meaningful activity for residents and hope that we can also involve relatives more as the restrictions ease. Thank you again.

Mum has been in Anjulita Court since December 2020 when it became necessary, at very short notice, to find her full-time care. At a very traumatic time in our lives, particularly as a result of lockdown, the staff at Anjulita have been supportive, attentive and caring. Since Mum has lived there, she
has had a couple of bouts of ill health, the most recent being in February. The staff identified the issue quickly and dealt with it efficiently and professionally. I was kept in touch with all developments and at all times, I have had peace of mind that Mum is being well looked after.
Reply from Ernie Botley, Home Manager at Anjulita CourtThank you for your ratings and comments about the responses, support and care that the staff have provided. Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.894)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.894) out of 10 for Anjulita Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.894 for Anjulita Court is calculated as follows: ( (291 Excellents x 5) + (28 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 322 Ratings = 4.894
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Anjulita Court is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 registered maximum number of service users is 12.4, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
