Despite my husband being a challenging resident, having good cognitive powers to make known his wishes, but minimal movement, the staff at Anjulita Court show immense patience in delivering his care to a very high standard.

I was under pressure to find respite quickly after my mother had fallen at home and was in the hospital, I was booked to travel to Australia for a long time and made arrangements to visit our son. The staff could not have been more helpful and kind in the speed with which they accommodated us in this endeavour.

Reply from Ernie Botley, Home Manager at Anjulita Court

We are glad to have helped at reasonably short notice. I hope the respite stay is positive for all the family and you enjoy your holiday. Many thanks for taking the time to provide the great star ratings.

My mother has dementia. The care at Anjulita is excellent, the staff do genuinely care about her and as she has deteriorated and become more difficult they have adjusted very well. They have also supported us as her relatives when we have been distressed by her behaviour.

The modern building is ideal and the garden a bonus as Mum needs to get outside often, she has had individual care for this and we appreciate that. I cannot express how lucky I feel that we have found a care home where we feel happy that she is well looked after and that she is as happy as she can be in her present state.

Thank you for the lovely feedback and ratings; we have shared them with the care team. As you say we are very lucky to have this fabulous space for our Anjulita family to live and work.

My husband's care has been second to none. In addition, I have also been supported and cared for during a difficult time in our lives.
All the staff are considerate, kind and understanding.

The cleanliness and the food are wonderful and personal laundry is very efficient and carefully delivered daily.

As I watched the preparations for Christmas taking place the atmosphere at the home was excellent in so much that everyone wanted to ensure that the residents enjoyed the festivities provided by the local rock choir, the traditional Carol concert, the Christmas jumper parade and the excellent food cooked and served over the Christmas and New Year period. The home was decorated beautifully and Christmas certainly came to the home. A wonderful time was had.

Reply from Ernie Botley, Home Manager at Anjulita Court

I visit every 6 months and live abroad - I call every weekend and whether I visit or call I always receive a great reception - when I visit I can see how well Mum is looked after - she's happy - content and loves the care staff and hospitality team - the staff and management team always take time out to talk to the residents and treat them all as a family - I feel the same way when I visit or call - it's home from home - amazing caring staff making the home safe for my mum and clean and tidy throughout - The food is great and the atmosphere all very welcoming.

During the past few months my mother's health has deteriorated and she was put on end-of-life care. Due to the good quality of care and communication with various members of the family, we have been reassured that she is in the best place!
The staff have been accommodating to our needs and have liaised well with different parties to ensure she has been comfortable at all times.
Recently Mum's health has improved again and the carers have made sure she has fluids and food suitable for her needs.
We are pleased with both their efforts and communication during a difficult time.

Thank you all.

My mother has been here for 20 months now and is very happy. She is well looked after and needs increasing amounts of support. All the staff are very friendly, and if I notice anything amiss that they may not have spotted I just need to mention it and it is looked at straight away. The management of the home is good, food seems to be good (although my mother has dementia and doesn't remember eating it most of the time). Mum doesn't really take part in the activities, but that is her choice and she is asked but never forced to. We visit as often as we can and she's always happy to see us (even if she's not always sure who my brother is). My husband and I have started doing some singing for the residents every couple of months and that is appreciated, but we're happy to help out. We only charge tea and biscuits! I am so pleased Mum went here as we've never had any complaints and feel like part of the Anjulita Court family!!

I am very pleased with the care my mother receives. The staff are kind and caring, and take the time and trouble to respond to her needs. The rooms and facilities are excellent, modern with plenty of space. The feel of the place, right from the large open atrium, is welcoming and is clean, it does not smell of ‘ old people’! There are nice gardens and courtyards for the residents to use.
It is good to see that the manager and key staff stay, which is the sign of a well-managed unit. The chaplain too is super and provides whole family support if needed.

I am very satisfied with the care given and that my mother is well supported and cared for and would highly recommend Anjulita Court.

I find all staff are caring and friendly, and are always ready to help. The regular carers in the Mill Unit are brilliant with residents and deal with difficult jobs sensitively and with good humour, and I find they are always ready to go the extra mile.

My mum and dad are residents at Anjulita Court and are well looked after and cared for. My dad struggled to settle in when he first moved there, but all staff have gone out of their way to make adjustments to help him. He now seems really happy and clearly gets on well with the staff.
The staff have arranged for Mum and Dad to eat their lunch together in an area which works well for both of them, even though they have different care needs.

It is sometimes difficult to call the home, particularly after office staff have left for the day, and there have been occasions when I have noticed that I have been called and not been able to get in touch when I call back.

Since my mum and dad moved into Anjulita Court in December 2023, the staff have been nothing but helpful with their transition. The care that all of the staff and volunteers show to the residents is so lovely to see, and since my mum sadly passed away last April, my dad is still settled and comfortable living there.

My brother and I could not have found a more wonderful place for our parents to be and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for themselves or a family member/s.

I’m always impressed by the welcoming atmosphere and the friendly staff. I really enjoy spending time with my close friend, sharing afternoon tea and chatting about our lives. She is very well cared for and is encouraged to do as much as she can for herself. I occasionally take her out, and this is well-planned and organised. I like attending some events with my friend.

I am so impressed with Anjulita Court Care Home. All the staff are so friendly, those who do the laundry, cooking, carers and managers. I would never have believed my father would be so happy not being in his own home and he has thanked me on numerous occasions for choosing such a good care home. The standard of care is very high and the weekly calendar of activities provide something for everyone. The purpose-built building is of a very high standard and very attractive in a beautiful setting. The residents can enjoy a lovely garden, next to a country park. The food is also of very high quality and the staff take considerable care to listen to individual’s requests and to consult the residents on improvements to the menus. Another great bonus is the indoor physical therapy pool. I would thoroughly recommend this care home and it has attentive, quality nursing support if needed with excellent links with the local GP surgery.

Mum loves living at Anjulita Court. The staff are fantastic - not just the care staff but everyone; admin, cleaners, kitchen, maintenance. This is what is so incredible about the care. Everyone cares! Mum's favourite activity is swimming in the therapy pool and she gets to do that quite regularly. Our lives are all made so much easier by mum's love for her new home - and we're always made to feel welcome when we visit too!

Thank you for the positive comments and ratings about the team at Anjulita. These will be shared with the staff. We are pleased to be able to offer access to the pool on occasion. After a year without "nursing care", Mother had a fall, a spell in hospital, and even moved to the "nursing unit"! (I totally appreciate that the care sector is finding recruitment difficult). After several months bed-bound, Mum decided she wants to try to build her strength to try to walk. A physio gave her exercises, which need support staff. She rarely gets help - even after asking repeatedly, and so is quite unhappy that she is not receiving assistance. I have noticed that dirty cups are not cleaned, she has occasionally been without a jug of water/teeth are not leaned during personal care.

My mother was welcomed into Anjulita Court mid April 2022 and hasn't looked back. She is well cared for and enjoys the activities which they offer on a regular basis, especially the music and dancing items. She is treated with dignity and respect and cannot praise the staff enough, from the manager, office, carers, nursing, minister, kitchen, cleaning, maintenance, hairdresser, chiropodist and activities staff they work as a team and really care about mums health and happiness. I would not hesitate to recommend Anjulita Court. I visited numerous homes, some of which were awful, but on the first visit to Anjulita Court I knew it was the right place for mum.
