My mother has been in Anjulita Court a few weeks and is still settling in. She has found the experience of having to have 24-hour care quite upsetting but the staff have been very good with her and my sister and I.

We have found this adjustment difficult too and the care team have been very supportive when we visit. Anjulita Court has a happy, friendly and caring atmosphere.

Anjulita Court and its staff have made my mother's transition to living in a care home as smooth as could possibly be hoped for. The staff are always very kind, personable and patient to all residents and visitors. They have been cheerful and understanding and my mother always says she cannot fault them. Bravo Anjulita - thank you!

I have been in this unit for almost 7 years. I sleep well, eat well and have as much freedom as my physical condition allows. We have an excellent Chaplin and carers. I am allowed to play the keyboard at any time and that gives me great pleasure, even if I don't always play the notes in the right order. So I say three cheers for MHA and NHS

The staff are very caring. The rooms are very comfortable. There are plenty of activities to take part in. The food is good and if you don't like the options on the menu an alternative will be provided. There are plenty of opportunities to socialise.

This home is misrepresented on their website by stating its a care home with nursing and having a specialist care category with Alzheimer's. Please note this is not the case! Be very careful when looking at placing a loved one here in the dementia unit as the manager suggested my mother needed a nursing dementia unit after having to go to hospital with a UTI! Very disappointed with the standard of care at this facility and lack of management skills.

Reply from Roda Williams, Area Manager at Anjulita Court

Thank you for your feedback which is much appreciated. I am sorry you feel that Anjulita Court was misrepresented on our website. I am hoping that following our meeting we were able to clarify that Anjulita Court is registered for Nursing and Residential Dementia Care. We do not offer a Dementia Nursing service.

Anjulita Court is a well run and positive place. There are plenty of activities to keep the residents engaged and my mum especially enjoys the hydro pool. The staff are very professional and helpful and there is a good community feel.

My mother has received excellent care from teams of carers who genuinely seem to enjoy looking after her. Any concerns raised by family members have been swiftly addressed.
My father spent his 'end of life' time and passing away at Anjulita and the care/love shown to us all was very special. We are so grateful for the determination of staff to see Mum through that difficult time.
The managers a wonderful team and have always made themselves available to meet with family and engage with Mum too.

Anjulita Court is an amazing provision for Bedford and I feel privileged to have been involved with this care home.

My mother was in Anjulita Court for 21 months. She really enjoyed her time there, made many friends and was happy to join in the activities on a regular basis. The facilities were very good and the staff always helpful and caring, even as her health deteriorated due to Alzheimer's and Dementia.

We were pleased that the managers and staff were able to make it possible for her to return from hospital to spend her last days there in a peaceful and caring environment.

Anjulita Court is a care home set in a modern well-designed building with an attractive garden. The staff are welcoming and caring, treating residents as individuals. The food is good with residents sitting in the dining area or eating in their rooms. Daily activities are provided and services are held 3 times a week.

A well kept care home with caring staff. Turnover of staff is a problem but I believe this not unusual with care homes.

Reply from Kath Bagnall, Home Manager at Anjulita Court

Thank you for your comments regarding Anjulita Court. I note that you feel staff turnover is high and would reassure you that there have been 8 leavers within the last three months. Please be assured that this level of leavers from the large staff team we have is not unusual. Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.

When looking for a home for my mother, we were fortunate to get a room at Anjulita Court.
From the moment they assessed her needs, through to arrival and her stay, the staff and management could not have been kinder or done more.

She is well cared for, safe and happy, and so am I.

Our mother has been a resident in Anjulita Court for almost 7 months and we have been delighted with both the home itself and the care she is receiving there. She was reluctant to 'give in' and accept that she needed a greater degree of care than we could provide for her at home, but she settled in very quickly due largely to the welcome she given by the carers, activity staff and even the kitchen staff who came to introduce themselves. She is very happy and well cared for, always looks smart and clean and enjoys all the activities and entertainment offered in the home. Food is good, rooms are spacious and clean and, far from this being the 'institution' one imagines a care home to be,she is enjoying a new lease of life. Her words '"I don't think I could be in a nicer place". Nor do we!!!

My father has been a resident in Anjulita Court for approximately 4 months. He is incredibly happy in this home, as are we his family.
The carers are always polite, kind, caring and compassionate with all the residents in my father's section. They are always willing to answer any questions we have and very approachable as is the manager.

The home is incredibly welcoming and feels like a home from home for my father. It's not clinical so had that comfortable home appeal. The team across the board are always very chat and friendly which makes a great difference. Overall, we are incredibly happy so far with Anjulita Court - well done team :)

My mother went into the home in March and it is perfect for her in every way. The staff are friendly, caring and they now feel like extended family to me. The activities are frequent and varied as well as adapting to residents capabilities. The building is light, airy and maintained well. I have no criticisms.
