I come regularly to see my husband. Everyone is friendly and look after him so well. Thank God everything is fine. I'm glad he is here, well looked after.
He laughs a lot here. We have no problem with his care. Everyone helps me too. We are grateful for the carers who look after him.

He likes the food here and likes it when staff come t care for him or clean the room. Thank you to all here.

Reply from Nilufa Somani, Director at Roebuck Nursing Home

Thank you for the positive comments Stella. We shall share your message with the staff. It is rewarding to look after our residents and positive comments are always appreciated. I am glad there are people here who can communicate with residents and families in languages other than English too. It shows how diverse our Roebuck community is. It is always a pleasure to see you too.

My husband has been on end-of-life care since June 2022. He is bedridden and can do very little for himself. The staff are wonderful and always treat him with dignity. He is always clean and shaven. I believe we would have lost him months ago if it wasn't for the amazing care he receives here.

Since my dad has been a resident he has had and is still receiving, excellent care. All the staff related to the home have always been courteous and go above and beyond to ensure that my dad is looked after to a very high standard and always ensure he keeps his dignity. I could not ask for a better home for him to be looked after in. Thank you so much.

Since moving into Roebuck I have settled in very well. Most of the staff are very friendly and help out whenever they can. I have made progress here and have lots of friends. As being the youngest in the home I have given my help and support to other residents. If I had to rate this place I would give it a 5-star 100%.

My father spent the last ten weeks of his life at the Roebuck Nursing home. A fiercely proud and independent man, he had previously refused care of any kind until near collapse. So after prolonged stays in hospital and when it became clear he could no longer return home to live, we were concerned he would struggle to settle at the nursing home. However, it was quite the contrary. During his time there he was happier and more at ease than I had seen him in a very long time. The managers and staff work daily miracles in my opinion, nothing too difficult for them, no request refused. With the enormity of the added extra burden of Covid and its restrictions, this highly experienced team were always kind, patient and sensitive with both my father and my family at this very difficult time. I cannot praise them highly enough.

Reply from Nilufa Somani, Director at Roebuck Nursing Home

Thank you for your review and positive comments. We shall pass these on to the staff who will appreciate it greatly. We miss dad and it really was a pleasure to look after him; a kind, gentle and lovely man. I wish he could have completed a 1000 piece puzzle whilst with us! You were obviously very close to him and we hope you, mum and your sister are keeping well. All the best.

My Dad came to Roebuck Nursing Home on discharge from hospital. He was very frail and depressed following the death of my Mum two years ago and we did not think his health and well-being would improve. How wrong we were! The kindness and care demonstrated by all the staff is excellent. He was assessed almost immediately by the excellent GP allocated to the home and communication and discussion between her, ourselves and Roebuck was clear and professional.
My Dad has continued to thrive on the care, kindness, and good food at Roebuck. The staff have gently encouraged him to go to the dayroom and engage with other residents. Both his physical and mental well-being has improved.

The staff continues to put the residents first under very difficult circumstances complying with Covid regulations and procedures. As my sister and I are essential carers we have been able to see my dad regularly as long as we do a lateral flow test and wear PPE. We take weekly PCR tests as do all the staff.

Reply from Nilufa Somani, Director at Roebuck Nursing Home

Thank you for the lovely comments. Your dad is a lovely gentleman and is very popular with the staff and residents alike. He is a pleasure to look after. Thank you to you too for all your support to the Manager and myself recently. Much appreciated. We will cascade the review to the staff. All the best.

My Dad has received excellent care from all the staff and I could not be happier with the level of care at Roebuck House. Everyone has been so welcoming and have done their absolute best to settle my Dad into his new way of life, nothing has been too much trouble. All the staff work incredibly hard and are on hand to deal with any questions or queries. My dad has received top quality food, excellent personal care and is extremely happy. This is a massive relief to us. I cannot recommend Roebuck House enough and thank every single staff member for everything that they do to keep the high standard of care, cleanliness, food and administration at Roebuck House.

My dad has been at Roebuck Nursing Home for four years and nine months until his passing yesterday. He had Parkinson’s and after a fall wasn’t able to walk or care for himself so was admitted to the home. It has been the best place for him as he was kept clean tidy and treated with individual dignified care. The carers and nurses through the pandemic, when we couldn’t visit, entertained and made it as homely and fun as possible, he was happy and had a good laugh with the staff. When you visit the home the first thing my family and friends noticed was how nice and fresh it smells, that is because they keep their residents and the home clean The receptionist is very helpful and welcoming. They encourage you to put their pictures and personal mementos in their room so they are very homely. Even this week whilst we have been visiting every day due to the fact he was deteriorating, whatever time of day or night everyone was very kind and caring to my dad and my family.

Reply from Nilufa Somani, Director at Roebuck Nursing Home

Thank you for the review. Dad was a special person and we were honoured to be able to look after him. I remember his cheeky smile/laugh. He will be sorely missed. I shall pass on your comments to the staff and the receptionist, who was particularly touched by your comment about her being so...

My father was in the Roebuck for 4 weeks following being hospitalised for 6 weeks. The home is clean and I received regular feedback on how dad was doing. The most amazing thing about the home is the staff. They are all very friendly and attentive and always worked with a smile on their faces. This is very reassuring and I would have no reservations about dad returning there in the future.

My dad was admitted to The Roebuck Nursing Home after several months hospitalisation, in April 2020. He has advanced Parkinson's Disease and now Lewy Bodies Dementia. His time of living at The Roebuck has coincided with the Corona Virus Pandemic. I have been impressed and reassured by the Roebuck's stringent hygiene and safety protocols, which have meant my dad has, so far, remained safe and covid-free. I believe they have only had one or two isolated positive tests, and these have been notified to all residents' relatives. My dad is up to date with his flu and covid vaccinations, and I am kept up to date, on a weekly basis, with all news and activities happening at The Roebuck.

Whenever I visit, I have been extremely satisfied with the care shown to my dad; the staff are kind and obliging, efficient and effective. I have been reassured at the return of the Director who has kept me completely informed of all aspects of my dad's care both daily and going forward.

Thank you for your review; I shall pass it on to the staff who will appreciate being acknowledged. Communication is key to any successful working relationship and I am glad that you find the regular emails from me and the family bulletins helpful. My mother has Alzheimer’s and went to Roebuck Care home for a week's respite care. This was for her sake and mine. I needed a break after three years of caring for her and working full-time.
The manager and the staff have made Mum so comfortable. My mum is a very difficult lady to get on with as she is fiercely independent, and has been so for thirty years plus.
But after just over a week, Mum has settled in the home, and she is doing word search puzzles and is happy. This is amazing as Mum has not been either of these for a few years now.
I can not sing their praises enough, so very kind and caring.

Would highly recommend this home.

My mother was a former resident, she passed away on the 15th of February aged 99-years-old. She was treated like a queen; she met Father Christmas, and they gave her a birthday party; they did her hair and nails, and nothing was too much for the staff. They treated myself and my sister very well. My mother came from the hospital pretty poorly, and they encouraged her to do things and she got better and survived longer than we thought. We are hoping to go to the home and meet the staff face to face. I would definitely recommend the home 100%.

My mother in law who had Dementia was cared for by the care support staff with such dignity, love and respect during her end of life care. We too as a family were given the exact same care and support throughout our time visiting and it was all the little things done we noticed that made things more homely for all.

My dad was well looked after at the home. I was a frequent visitor and always found the staff welcoming and appearing to be cheerful and happy in their work. Dad spoke very highly of them too and said he felt much better cared for by the staff at the Roebuck than he had been prior to moving in, with agency carers coming to his house.
They arranged a lot of entertainment and activities for the residents.
The home was clean and had a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere, which was also noted by other visitors I took to the home to see Dad.

It was also very much appreciated how they not only looked after Dad during his last few days but also the time and consideration they took looking after my mum and myself and making it possible for us to spend that time with him.

We fond the home to be very welcoming. The staff were lovely but not always enough of them as mum sometimes had to wait a while for help to get to the bathroom. The food was excellent mum looked forward to her meals especially afternoon tea and cake! And the few activities which we attended together, hymn singing and service, Diwali dancing were very good. We were let to believe there was a regular hairdresser in attendance but this was not the case and disappointing as Mum never got her hair done there.

Reply from Lisa Donovan, Home Manager at Roebuck Nursing Home
