Aire View Care Home in Kirkstall is one of two Avery homes based in Leeds. It has been serving Yorkshire for the past ten years with residential, dementia and respite services and has gained top quality status from Leeds City Council.

The home warmly welcomes couples or companions to continue their care journey together.

The standard of excellence is reflected in the one-to-one care and holistic attention given to all residents, whatever their needs.

Families are also offered support and encouraged to join in the life of the home.

The home offers a variety of facilities open to residents daily. They can catch a film in the home's cinema or pamper themselves by having their hair and nails done in the hair salon and nail bar. If it's a bit of downtime that the residents require, then they can take full advantage of the relaxation room. The café offers the perfect place for residents to catch up over a coffee or a cup of tea with relatives or fellow residents.

A minibus enables residents to get out and about. Residents visit the local theatre, pubs, garden centres and can even make a trip to the Leeds Liverpool canal.

Mum really enjoyed her two-week respite stay. Second visit since staying here in June 2023. Staff were professional and caring and treated Mum with dignity and respect. She had a very pleasant stay, and I had a nice rest knowing she was being well cared for and kept safe.

Aire View has been really supportive with the whole family over the last few months. We are very happy with the lovely staff team and the friendly atmosphere on floor 2. Questions are always dealt with professionally and appropriately. We love the activities and the chance to see what everyone has been
up to on social media, which helps keep the family up to date with Mum.

Looking for accommodation for my mother who was diagnosed with dementia and required full time support. I contacted the home and the manager who invited me to visit, which I did. The manager was lovely, knowledgeable about dementia and care that people need. She was very responsive, informative and
very caring. The staff were very polite and the overall experience I felt was this was a homely, safe and happy place for my mum.

My mother-in-law has been a resident since January 2023. At first she found it hard to settle but is now well-used to life in care.
I have always been impressed by the staff and their treatment of residents. My mother-in-law has a great relationship with them. The staff treat the residents with dignity
and respect. The welfare of residents is always a priority. Staff will engage with relatives in discussions about their loved ones. Nothing seems too much trouble for them.
I do like the photographs of the various activities which are posted on social media. It's always reassuring to know that residents are continually provided with things to stimulate their mental health and well-being.
On the dementia floor things do sometimes go missing but that's only to be expected.
I rate this care home very highly.

Aire View Care Home is fantastic! From the very first time my brother and I visited the Care Home we felt it had a homely, welcoming atmosphere. We were impressed by the quality of the facilities and the beautiful gardens. We knew it would be a good place for our mum and dad to receive respite care
following dad's long period of illness. Unfortunately, things did not go according to plan, dad went back into hospital whilst mum remained in the care of Aire View. Sadly, dad's return to Aire View two weeks later was to receive palliative care. The professional nursing care given to our dad allowed him to pass away with dignity and peacefully four days later. Throughout this difficult time, all staff provided an outstanding level of care so that mum felt safe, well cared for and she thoroughly enjoyed joining in various activities including keep fit, singing, Bingo and of course getting her hair done. We would not hesitate to recommend Aire View Care Home - thank you!

Thank you again and we look forward to hopefully having your mum to stay with us again soon. Best wishes, Paula.

I have been very pleased with how the care home at Aire View has catered for my mum's needs. The carers have all been supportive, kind and gone the extra mile with regard to the care of my mum. Mum's room is a very pleasant one, and Mum is always keen to tell me how much she enjoys the food and the
friendliness of the staff. So overall, it is a very satisfactory home for my mum.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.722) out of 10 for Aire View Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.747 for Aire View Care Home - Avery Healthcare is calculated as follows: ( (175 Excellents x 5) + (43 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 225 Ratings = 4.747
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Aire View Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 84 registered maximum number of service users is 16.8, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
