I think what makes this care home special is the staff, I have seen how much they really care about the residents of the home and want to ensure they are happy and have the residents well being as a priority. I love when visiting my grandma seeing how everyone makes a fuss over her as I know she loves
the attention! The home is super clean and just feels like a nice place to be.

My mum moved to Hatton Grange in February 2020. Considering residential care for our mum was the most difficult situation that we ever faced as a family. Over the years Mum had spoken about what she wanted from a care home should she ever need one and I feel that all her wishes have been met above
and beyond any of our expectations. Thank you so much!
Prior to lockdown, we were free to visit Mum whenever we wanted; we were always made so welcome. We have been free to decorate her room to her taste and style. The home is kept scrupulously clean at all times, it is always clean and fresh.
The staff take time to do loads of different activities with Mum, art, makeup, hair, nails, games, etc. My mum has lots of fun with the staff and lots of giggles.
The impression that we get is that she is really special to the staff and we love that.
Mum loves the food and sitting with others at mealtimes. I feel involved in my mum's care. Communication is excellent.
Absolutely wonderful!

My Mum became a resident at Hatton Grange in February 2020 and settled in very quickly. The building is purpose-built and very light, airy and clean.
Mum's room is on the ground floor and opens up on to the gardens. There is ample storage space with wardrobe and drawers. There is an en suite with
shower, toilet and washbasin.
The carers are absolutely amazing providing the very best care for my Mum. They treat her as an individual having taken their time to get to know her. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
They are also extremely supportive to other family members making the transition from home to care home as worry-free as possible.
I write this review during the COVID 19 pandemic. During this time Hatton Grange have facilitated contact for Mum with all family members.
I would highly recommend Hatton Grange.

Both my parents have been cared for at Hatton since the end of February. Within two weeks they were on lockdown. The care they have received has been wonderful. One of the carers has kept us informed of our parent's progress and health. She has got to know their needs, likes and dislikes very quickly.

My Mum has been a resident of Hatton Grange for over two years now.
The staff have always been helpful and friendly, and the home is exceptionally clean.
I would just like to pass on my thanks for the care and dedication the staff have shown through this pandemic. They have shown kindness and understanding
to both my Mum and myself through such a difficult period, and have gone the extra mile to ensure the residents feel safe and happy.

My husband became a resident in Hatton Grange Care Home in April 2019. I found it extremely difficult that due to my health I was unable to continue to look after my husband. Once I saw how happy he was, also how welcoming the staff made our family, most welcome.
The staff are very warm, friendly
and caring, I can not recommend Hatton Grange Care Home enough. Families are encouraged to join in with their loved ones regularly when they have entertainment.
I wish to thank all the staff, not only the carers, the manager, assistant manager, the secretary, the domestic staff, the chiefs, the handyman, also the hairdressers. They are all so friendly and make you feel at home.
If I ever need to go into care I certainly would request a place at Hatton Grange Care Home.

My mum has been looked after by the dementia team at Hatton Grange for five years, until she sadly passed away recently. From the very first time she was a resident in your care home, we could tell she was extremely happy and settled and also very well cared for. The staff have been delightful and have
given her the best care we could have wished for. Nothing has been too much trouble and we are so grateful as a family that her last years were spent in happy surroundings and she was looked after by a team of amazing, caring staff. Thank you to everyone at Hatton Grange. We highly recommend your services to anyone looking for the ultimate in long or short term care.

When my wife needed a care home, I was offered the choice of two. I selected Hatton Grange and it has all the care and comfort my wife needs. I was her carer for six years but when it became too much, Hatton Grange delivers a level of care I could not. Thank you.

Really happy with care both on a personal and mental level. Mum has really settled well. She is always clean and well dressed. Staff are real carers, only problem the paperwork they have to do sometimes leaves them unable to attend to residents and this does have a knock-on effect as sometimes the floor
is understaffed anyway. Where possible, the same staff are allocated to the same floor which helps residents gives consistency. All staff caring and helpful and inform relatives what is going on.
Reply from Angela Brown, Home Manager at Hatton GrangeFirstly I would like to say thank you for your positive review, regarding the paperwork, when colleagues are completing essential documentation they do this in the communal lounge or dining room, and at these times other colleagues are available to support residents where needed.

Our staffing hours are always at or above the number of hours indicated as required by the dependency levels of the current resident group.

Staff are always very welcoming and happy to help with whatever you require. Residents always look happy and well cared for. The home itself is spotlessly clean. The Manager and all staff are extremely caring, supportive and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they always respond promptly to any concerns or requests. My Mum has been here since December 2014 and has always been treated with respect, dignity and care. We, as a family, couldn't
recommend the Hatton Grange care home enough. Excellent.

My Mother is a resident at Hatton Grange, I phone every week or two as I live in South Australia My mum sounds so happy when I call and Mum loves all the staff. I sometimes chat with Mums carers they sound so nice plus have a passion for their job.

My Sister had to explain to your staff that my

mother only remembers me as her son. I was born with Gender Dysphoria so had Gender corrective surgery some 16 years ago. So when I phone I tell the nurses I am her daughter from Australia. Then mum tells your staff I am mums son.
So my Sister told your staff what is what. I just would like to thank your staff who look after my Mother so much. It makes me feel so much more comfortable. Please Thank them all from me.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.578)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.578) out of 10 for Hatton Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.578 for Hatton Grange is calculated as follows: ( (186 Excellents x 5) + (44 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (10 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 249 Ratings = 4.578
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hatton Grange is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 registered maximum number of service users is 14, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
