We currently have two vacancies for care. Please contact The Manor House Barnard Castle for further information.
I have worked at The Manor House for 13 years. I started as a care assistant and progressed to a senior, principal senior, and deputy manager, and now I am the interim home manager, covering Sharon’s maternity leave. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to work with the elderly, as I have always had a passion for care, and I especially find it very rewarding to look after people with more complex needs.
I live in the town with my husband Dean, our son Olly and our family dog, Rufus. In my spare time, I enjoy meeting up with my family and going abroad for a bit of sun.
I have worked at The Manor House for 10 years, I started as a bank care assistant and have worked my way through the ranks to become a deputy manager. I moved to Barnard Castle with my mum in 2008 from Leeds to start a new life, I have a partner named Simon and two children Ethan and Lexi-Mae. We also have a dog named Scamp. I like meeting new people, and am a very friendly outgoing person, something that helps when meeting new residents and their families when they first come to The Manor House. My ambition has always been to work with the elderly, I have a passion for supporting those living with dementia.
I have worked in social care for over 30 years and have spent 12 of those years at The Manor House.
I started as a night care assistant I then became a senior carer and then a principal carer. When our home manager Sharon went on maternity leave earlier this year, I had the opportunity to become a deputy manager.
I have been married to a sheep and beef farmer for 35 years and I work on our farm when I’m not at The Manor House caring for our residents. I have two grown-up daughters and two granddaughters – who are my world! My granddaughters are my world. I have three house dogs and five outside sheepdogs, taking these for long walks with my granddaughters, helps me unwind after work.
I have worked at The Manor House for nearly 5 years as an Administrator and have 20 years of experience working in this role in different care settings. I have also previously won an award for Administrator of the Year.
I enjoy helping families from the initial enquiry/admission process right through to discharge solving any issues/problems they may have in what can be a very stressful and emotional time for all concerned.
I have 2 grown up children, my Son is a self-employed Electrician and my Daughter is an Administrator also in a care home in Durham. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time at our caravan and spending time with my Husband Leo and my dog Kevin who also visits the The Manor House on a regular basis.
