I like living here. All staff are very friendly, helpful, kind and caring. The manager pops in to see me daily and is always interested. The home has good food, it is always clean, and I feel safe and happy at Highgrove.

My mother was a resident for what turned out to be only a short period of time, however, the staff were extremely helpful, caring, considerate and were always there when needed. They were willing to help in every situation and basically could not do enough for us.

The past year has been a testing time for all, especially for staff and residents working and living in care homes. At Highgrove, staff were exceptional - caring, cheerful and always ready to help. They are a genuine team, which are very well-led. When Mum's condition deteriorated, the care and support
offered were exceptional. We have always found the manager, to be honest with us, and as a result, trust her judgement when required. In conclusion - the staff are very caring and committed to giving residents the best possible quality of life, which we found very comforting.

I'd like to thank everyone in the care home who looked after my mum, they couldn't have been more caring. I knew she was in good hands. Everyone went above and beyond. They also looked after me and my sister at this difficult time everyone was so kind and caring towards us. I would highly recommend

Mum is 97 years old and has been at Highgrove for one year. During this time, she has received exceptional care. The carers are kind, understanding and empathetic, always treating her with respect and maintaining her dignity. Mum always says she is well looked after and is happy. They have encouraged
Mum to join in with activities with residents and carers, yet have supported her when she would rather not. When Mum has been ill, they have acted quickly to seek expert help and have informed family with compassion. Overall, excellent and professional care.

My mum has been in this care home for nine months; they are extremely caring. They cannot do enough for her. As a relative, nothing is too much trouble no matter what time of day you ring, they are they for you and your family. All the staff are polite and helpful. The care home is of a very high standard,
and I cannot praise them enough.

My mother has been a resident at Highgrove for over three years, she lives on the dementia section and is now at the end of her life. Her conditions have been increasingly challenging for herself/myself and the staff who look after her. She has always been treated with respect and patient by all the
team at Highgrove. The restrictions imposed on visiting during the pandemic must have made the providers tasks much more difficult as the patients do not understand why loved ones have not visited them. My mum has recently recovered from covid-19, which I attribute to the excellent care she has received. Mum is no longer able to speak coherently, has poor hearing and poor eyesight, but from observing her interaction with the regular carers, I'm sure she feels loved and safe.

Throughout the five years Mum has been a resident at Highgrove, she has received first-class care and has been treated with dignity and respect. I think Highgrove is very sensitive and do their utmost to make sure you get what you want. They have been very patient with my dad, and it is the best care home he was in. I have already told people about Highgrove. They were very patient until the end with him, and the care was 100%.

My relative was very well taken care of at Highgrove. Prior to her admission, she was very independent. She was admitted to Highgrove following a fall.
During her stay, she was treated with dignity and one member of staff worked hard with her to help regain her confidence. She chooses to remain at
Highgrove and was very well looked after; for her remaining days.
She received excellent care.

My mother sadly passed away in August last year 2019, leaving my dad desperately lonely, vulnerable and unsafe. My parents had been married for 64 years and deciding which care home to use for Dad was a concern. But I can honestly say that Highgrove have done everything to make my dad feel settled,
safe and at ease. The staff are friendly, loving and warm-hearted, even going to the trouble of framing a picture of my mum and dad and putting a rose underneath the picture for Valentine's Day. Just lovely!

My father was admitted to hospital after a fall. On discharge, he was sent to Highgrove for 2 weeks respite as he was not coping too well at home after my mother passed away last year. After the two weeks, he wanted to stay, which we never thought he would. When I visit I can see why the place is so
welcoming and all the staff are so friendly and speak well of my father. Everyone is so professional and there for you if you need to chat. The fittings and decor are clean and fresh and room sizes good. We have bought in personal mementoes for Dad and his room feels cosy and homely, as the care home does. From first point of contact, we were welcomed and I am happy and relieved that my Dad is in a safe, friendly, welcoming care home, free of worry and stress. I personally can't thank all the staff enough as I know Dad is in a really good place now and he has become more chatty, in fact, I feel I have my Dad back, thank you to all the team at Highgrove.

I would like to say this care home - Highgrove is amazing.
As soon as I came through the doors, it felt so warm and welcoming. The decor is magical and lovely to look at all areas are clean and no clutter on corridors which could confuse residents.
My nan has been looked after so well where all her
needs have been met by staff, who are kind, caring and considerate. Staff wanted to know extra things about my nan so they could start meaningful conversations with her. I've never witnessed a more lovely environment or staff in a care setting. Thank you to all the staff who are fantastic, it made us family, feel relaxed.

We looked after our mum for a number of years with Alzheimer's but after further illness, she was discharged from hospital to Highgrove at Stairfoot Barnsley. From the first point of contact with the manager we found the staff extremely professional, courteous and very supportive. We were offered an
open visit to the home to see the care home without any pressure. The staff and the home were well organised and ready with all the equipment needed to receive Mum from hospital, what they did not have they prior they liaised with the Care Co-ordinator at the hospital. The open visiting was great with no restrictions it was lovely for the grandchildren to visit in the privacy of her room and meant we could come and go at will or stay as long as we wished.
We can't thank the staff enough as the care was second to none and they were also so supportive at the end of life care. Lots of cups of tea and kind words made what was a very difficult time so much easier.
