What a transformation during this short period of time. All the staff show great care and attention to my husband; which gives us peace of mind when we leave him, knowing he is more settled and content in himself.

Throughout the five years Mum has been a resident at Highgrove, she has received first-class care and has been treated with dignity and respect. The staff are kind, caring and supportive to family members. We wouldn't have wished for Mum to be in a better place and would have no hesitation in recommending to others.

The professional standards are exceptional. The home is always bright, clean and welcoming. The care of people is to be applauded, where nothing seems to be too much of a problem.

I think Highgrove is very sensitive and do their utmost to make sure you get what you want. They have been very patient with my dad, and it is the best care home he was in. I have already told people about Highgrove. They were very patient until the end with him, and the care was 100%.

My relative was very well taken care of at Highgrove. Prior to her admission, she was very independent. She was admitted to Highgrove following a fall.
During her stay, she was treated with dignity and one member of staff worked hard with her to help regain her confidence. She chooses to remain at Highgrove and was very well looked after; for her remaining days.
She received excellent care.

Thank you.

My mother sadly passed away in August last year 2019, leaving my dad desperately lonely, vulnerable and unsafe. My parents had been married for 64 years and deciding which care home to use for Dad was a concern. But I can honestly say that Highgrove have done everything to make my dad feel settled, safe and at ease. The staff are friendly, loving and warm-hearted, even going to the trouble of framing a picture of my mum and dad and putting a rose underneath the picture for Valentine's Day. Just lovely!

My father was admitted to hospital after a fall. On discharge, he was sent to Highgrove for 2 weeks respite as he was not coping too well at home after my mother passed away last year. After the two weeks, he wanted to stay, which we never thought he would. When I visit I can see why the place is so welcoming and all the staff are so friendly and speak well of my father. Everyone is so professional and there for you if you need to chat. The fittings and decor are clean and fresh and room sizes good. We have bought in personal mementoes for Dad and his room feels cosy and homely, as the care home does. From first point of contact, we were welcomed and I am happy and relieved that my Dad is in a safe, friendly, welcoming care home, free of worry and stress. I personally can't thank all the staff enough as I know Dad is in a really good place now and he has become more chatty, in fact, I feel I have my Dad back, thank you to all the team at Highgrove.

I would like to say this care home - Highgrove is amazing.
As soon as I came through the doors, it felt so warm and welcoming. The decor is magical and lovely to look at all areas are clean and no clutter on corridors which could confuse residents.

My nan has been looked after so well where all her needs have been met by staff, who are kind, caring and considerate. Staff wanted to know extra things about my nan so they could start meaningful conversations with her. I've never witnessed a more lovely environment or staff in a care setting. Thank you to all the staff who are fantastic, it made us family, feel relaxed.

We looked after our mum for a number of years with Alzheimer's but after further illness, she was discharged from hospital to Highgrove at Stairfoot Barnsley. From the first point of contact with the manager we found the staff extremely professional, courteous and very supportive. We were offered an open visit to the home to see the care home without any pressure. The staff and the home were well organised and ready with all the equipment needed to receive Mum from hospital, what they did not have they prior they liaised with the Care Co-ordinator at the hospital. The open visiting was great with no restrictions it was lovely for the grandchildren to visit in the privacy of her room and meant we could come and go at will or stay as long as we wished.
We can't thank the staff enough as the care was second to none and they were also so supportive at the end of life care. Lots of cups of tea and kind words made what was a very difficult time so much easier.

Thank you all.

Mum came into Highgrove to recuperate. She always said she wouldn't go into a care home. From the minute she walked in, to her passing away, she loved every minute. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff for mum's care and she was treated with the utmost respect and love. The staff came to be like her family. She was cared for 110%. I cannot thank them all enough for what they did. First class in every respect.

We entrusted our Mother to this care home initially for 2 weeks respite care. This meant we could check how well she coped with a care home in general and also assess the standard of care. She was in for 12 days and we brought her home. We found the communication with carers quite poor. I would not recommend this care home for anybody. Did not see much interaction with residents who in the main all sat in the same small sitting room for the majority of the day.

My mum came into Highgrove for respite care but nearly six weeks later has been unable to leave because of her health. My mum has been treated with care and dignity in her last few weeks of life. The staff are amazing here and I can't praise them enough. Nothing has been too much trouble and they have kept us informed of everything.

I will be recommending Highgrove to anyone I can.

The staff are very pleasant and helpful but I can see that there is not enough staff on the ground floor. You go visiting on weekends waiting for somebody to open the entrance door. There is not enough seating in the bedrooms and no chairs for visitors. You have to stand or sit on the bed.

Thank you for your review of our care home, it is important that our relative's experience reflects the residents' experience, therefore we will look to resolve the issues which do not meet your expectations. My mum has been at Highgrove since May 2018 and the standard of care is considered excellent. The home is very clean and kept in excellent decorative order. Mum is pleased with both the food and the activities offered and she really likes the staff who do everything to make her stay a happy and healthy one. We have no intention of changing her care home. Keep up the good work!
