My mother has been at Oakview for a number of years and I have been delighted with the care provided during the whole time. This was highlighted recently when she became unwell, it was so moving to see carers and domestics from across different units that know her, come to wish her well and support
us. My mother spent most time on Beech, where she enjoyed singing and dancing activities. When she reached her 80th Birthday, everyone made it so special when our family visited to celebrate with her. Following expected deterioration due to her condition, my mother was moved to Ash, as a nursing unit met her needs more. As well as the outstanding care she has received, the team are caring and considerate to us, ready with a hug if upset. I would not hesitate to recommend Oakview looking for a caring environment for their loved ones.

Night and day difference from the last care home Dad was in. Staff are fantastic and plenty around at all times when I've visited. Dad seems to be more settled and is now joining in with the activities with some encouragement from the carers. Management are on the ball and easy to reach if you need
and all staff I have encountered are warm, friendly and appear more than happy to help. Dad has only been there since 1st September '25 and we have zero complaints or concerns so far.

After a disappointing experience at the previous home, Mum is now more settled and has confidence that Oakview are able and competent to look after Dad and his needs. Thank you to Pal and Angela especially, who have restored our faith!

Reply from Lisa Sutton, deputy manger at Oakview Care HomeThank you for taking the time to write a review we really appreciate it, and we are very happy dada has settled well at Oakview care home, and you and mom are happy, as always we are always here if you need a chat.

I have wanted my husband to be admitted to Oakview for several months, but unfortunately, due to medical issues, he was only admitted 3 days ago. I came for a visit in March to look around and knew this was the right place for him. These last few days have proved my instinct was right. I have received
nothing but kindness from the staff, and my husband has been made comfortable and settled. Thanks to Pal, the manager who cares, even though she never met me in person, she was so supportive and kept a bed free for him until he was admitted.
Reply from Pal Grewal, Manager at Oakview Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your review. I know the journey has not been easy for you both. It was a real privilege to finally meet you. I'm truly glad to hear that we were able to meet your expectations and that you felt treated with such kindness at Oakview. Your thoughtful words mean so much, and I will be sure to share them with the whole team.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.941)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.941) out of 10 for Oakview Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 93 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 92 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.941 for Oakview Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (1056 Excellents x 5) + (40 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 1108 Ratings = 4.941
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Oakview Care Home is based on 92 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 97 registered maximum number of service users is 19.4, which has been reached with 92 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
