Lovely, clean, friendly accommodation and staff. Nothing seems too much trouble for anyone of the staff, which has made it much easier for my godmother to get accustomed to living in the home. Having worked in a care home, I can feel that this home is of very good quality, and I wouldn't hesitate to
recommend it to others.
Reply from Lisa Sutton, Deputy Manager at Oakview Care HomeThank you, Rick, for your kind review; it shows that everyone at Oakview is doing a fantastic job and that families and residents are happy with everything that we do, and thank you for recommending our home to others.

My sister was a resident here since May 2022. The care she has had was wonderful, the management and carers were so good to her. She passed away today (14th February) and everyone looked after her and cared for her with love and kindness. Also, they treated me and my daughters with love and sympathy
in the last few days, with tea and biscuits etc. I will always be grateful and I would recommend Oakview to anyone.
Reply from Lisa Sutton, Deputy Manager at Oakview Care HomeThank you, Margaret, for your kind review, it was our pleasure to look after your sister whilst she was here, she was a lovely lady and I will pass onto staff your kind words. We here at Oakview care home aim to give the best care to your loved ones and reviews like this show that this is what our staff do.
So thank you once again.

Staff are polite and respectful to residents. They are proactive in the health, care and safety of residents. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, and the resident's clothing is well-laundered on a daily basis. The overall impression is of a well-maintained care home with kind and caring staff at
all levels who have the residents at the heart of their duties. I have no hesitation ins recommending the home.
Reply from Lisa Sutton, Deputy Manager at Oakview Care HomeThank you for your kind review of Oakview Care Home; I will pass this on to the staff to show them your appreciation for all the hard work they do, and thank you for recommending our care home.

This was one of the care facilities given to us by Social Services, after an initial visit we came away comforted by the initial meeting of the staff and cleanliness. Having never used a home before for my mum, I walked away feeling that she would be cared for and she was! Mum was there for two weeks
and I would feel comfortable and happy for her to stay again if required. Thank you.
Reply from Lisa Sutton, Deputy Manager at Oakview Care HomeThank you, Andrea, for your review and kind words.
It was our pleasure to have your mum stay for respite care, and we are so glad that you were happy with our care home, the care received for your mum, and the cleanliness of the home.
And once again if ever you need respite care again we will be happy to help.

I selected Oakview Care Home after a discussion with a local NHS care professional, aware I was transferring my mother from a different Local Health Authority to be nearer to me. It helped me tremendously to ask the right questions for a loved one with advanced dementia and pending palliative care requirements.
From the initial engagement with the Oakview management team, I experienced a personal and caring approach that answered many of my questions even before I had asked them. This continued in practice and their continuity of staff and carers helped my mum settle and feel comfortable. The facilities are spacious, modern and practical, yet still provided a homely feel. When visiting we never felt unwelcome and were greeted by familiar faces, giving reassurance that there was continuity for all concerned and that everyone knew my mother by name and needs. For this I was truly grateful, along with the care she received.
I can't thank Oakview enough for supporting us as a family in our hardest times.
Reply from Lisa Sutton, Deputy Manager at Oakview Care HomeThank you for your lovely review of Oakview care home, it was our pleasure to have your mom come and live at Oakview. We are glad that we were able to answer your questions, and concerns prior to coming into our home, and that you chose us to care for your mom, as we know that it is a worry to some families when the time comes for them to be looked after in a care home.
I am glad that you and your mom felt the warmth and was comfortable with everyone as this is what we are all about here at Oakview providing the best of care and everyone to show our values of our home which are compassion, respect, and responsible.

in great service.

I cannot praise Oakview enough, my Aunt was there before she passed and then when my Mom needed a care home I enquired about a bed and thankfully they had one available. My Mom was very well looked after and cannot sing the praises high enough. The management team went above and beyond for her as did
her nursing staff and carers.
Both my Mom and us were treated as family members and continue to care about us as we do them. Absolutely brilliant.

My dad has been here now for several months and I’d just like to say how happy he seems. I go regularly to visit him and can honestly say I really enjoy going. There’s not been a time yet I’ve come away and felt he was in an “awful care home! What have I done?”!
He’s very well cared for and has settled
in brilliantly.
That, I feel is down to your lovely staff. They all seem to love their job and genuinely love the people they care for. I feel it’s just a big family and I feel part of that family. It’s so reassuring, as the last thing you ever expect is to find someone you love living and relying on other people to do the most simple things in life.
The moment I entered your home to see if there were any vacancies I could feel it was going to be “the” place for my dad.
So I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate everything Oakview does for my dad. No complaints. Just happy he’s happy! And happy he’s safe and cared for by lovely people
Reply from Lisa Sutton, deputy Manager at Oakview Care HomeThank you for your review, and we are very happy that your dad has settled her at Oakview Care Home.

My mum has settled into this care home really well. The staff are very helpful and informative and always speak to me when I visit. The staff are very pleasant and helpful to Mum and encourages her in her hobbies and interests too. Mum's personal hygiene is excellent, and the building and rooms are
very clean too. Each room has its own television and a bathroom. Overall, I am extremely happy with the care Mum is given and the facilities too. I would highly recommend this care home.

Myself and my brother were sent to many homes and were pleased when Oakview Care Home said they would take my mother. I promised my mother we find her somewhere she would like to go, which was clean and comfortable and bright and have things to do. My mother was on dialysis so there were not many homes
that could take her. The Nurses I could not thank them enough, they were outstanding. And looked after my mother very well. The staff are very caring and worked hard. The place itself is kept clean and modern. My mother's room was spacious with its own shower and toilet. The staff work hard trying to put on entertainment, games and keep fit which my mother loved when she was up for it. And having her hair done in the hairdressers they have.

Mum was a resident receiving nursing care from July 2018 - March 2020. We were extremely pleased with the care she received. With a very large family, so she had visits most days, and the staff throughout the home were friendly and welcoming to all. It was the first choice of nursing care for Mum, on
recommendations and location for the family and we feel we could not have chosen better - only wish we had made the move from residential care sooner - we were very unhappy with the previous home.

I have been in touch with the home a number of times since their passing and have always been treated warmly and felt that although my parents

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.940)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.940) out of 10 for Oakview Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 90 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 89 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.940 for Oakview Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (1021 Excellents x 5) + (39 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 1072 Ratings = 4.94
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Oakview Care Home is based on 89 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 97 registered maximum number of service users is 19.4, which has been reached with 89 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
