Overall Experience
My mother was transferred to Tunbridge Wells Care Centre from Tunbridge Wells Hospital upon discharge having suffered a life-changing Acute Stroke.
She remained at the care centre for her last 4 months.
In that 4 months, I saw professional, competent, compassionate, respectful nursing care carried out to a very high standard by supportive, dedicated, committed, caring staff, and community support services working in partnership to provide the best possible care, maintaining dignity at all times and continuing to encompassing a friendly, happy, environment.
Although my mum struggled to communicate her needs, I believe the staff did everything they could to make her comfortable and to find ways to communicate with her.

As a relative I found the staff of all grades to be approachable, transparent, informative and reassuring.

Being a nurse myself I find the care and attitude of Tunbridge Wells Care Centre to be nothing short of exemplary.

Overall Experience
As a family, we came to realise how fortunate we were that my Mum was able to spend the last 4 months of her life in such a peaceful, calm, loving and supportive home environment. All of her individual needs were met with compassion, professionalism and medical expertise from day 1. A diagnosis of Dementia can result in the bereavement process beginning very early on and as a family, our needs were also met by all staff, in particular, the strong leadership team who were excellent role models, knowing and caring for each resident, family members and their needs.

Daily greetings from everyone, a beautiful garden to sit in, welcoming dining rooms, personal care organised and provided, for example, visits to the Hairdresser in the Home and the Chiropodist enabled my Mum to enjoy her life as much as she was able to. A very sad time for us as a family but we felt very well supported and as a result were able to have a better understanding of the preparations we had to make.

My husband was transferred to the centre following a cycling accident. The services/compassion provided was amazing making the whole experience easier to cope/deal with. As his wife, it was peace of mind for me when leaving after a visit knowing he was safe.

I arrived in the late evening, was immediately taken into my bedroom and made at home.
Thereafter have been looked after by the staff and whenever I needed help or things was immediately helped by the staff.
The food was interesting and have been on a boat trip with others here and have had a singing day.

Cannot complain about anything here.

The staff at Tunbridge Wells Care Centre are excellent. They are headed up by a fantastic care manager who I cannot praise enough. Her compassion, insights and general running of the care centre are second to none.

The staff always greet you with a smile always happy to talk about the care and being able to visit whenever one wanted shows true transparency. The care centre feels homely but also like a very nice hotel. The dignity that is shown to the residents at all stages of their lives is wonderful. The care manager is always on hand and accessible to talk things through. I am most impressed.

My mum has just passed away here and I cannot fault her care over the past 2 1/2 years. She has been looked after with compassion, kindness and indeed love by everyone. The carers work so hard to look after everyone so wonderfully and the nurses are trained to care for our loved ones to the highest levels. Cleaners, laundry, reception, admin, activities, kitchen staff - everyone is friendly and extremely caring. Management should be very proud of the team here at Tunbridge Wells Care Centre and I will be forever grateful for Mum being cared for so well.

Management, nursing staff and carers very attentive to our needs. Great empathy and understanding and our wishes carried out.
Activity staff do a great job as do the cleaning staff.
Food is varied with good options available.
Also happy to prepare foods not on the menu that day.

Some agency staff need to smile more. More male carers would be good. Reception staff are charming.

I visit the home on an extremely regular basis. At all times the staff and management go above and beyond just caring. A recent sunny day provided the opportunity for the clientele to have lunch alfresco, everyone joined in. Carers, activities staff and kitchen staff all worked extremely hard and you could feel the happiness and enjoyment it provided. They have my limitless respect. Well done Tunbridge Wells Care Centre (TWCH).

My husband has only been in the home a week, having been transferred by the hospital. I find the staff friendly and caring both to myself and my husband. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them, I am confident all the staff I have met have his best interests in mind. The rooms are spacious and clean. The garden is a lovely haven to relax and enjoy the fresh air.
