Ashley Court Care Home staff have looked after my mum for nearly three years. Mum is very well cared for by the team of professional staff, who have also taken time to get to know the whole family which is very much appreciated! We don't know what we would have done without the team's support!

How wonderful is this nursing home? My husband is a resident and due to his dementia will not settle to eat. Due to this the staff are being very vigilant - making sandwiches and providing fruit and cake throughout the day to give some encouragement. I am aware of this, as this has happened while we
are visiting.
Reply from Gigy Johnson, Manager at Ashley Court Care HomeThank you for this great review! It is lovely to hear that our staff are attentive, and your husband is getting the extra support with his dietary requirements.

I cannot praise highly enough the care my mother receives at Ashley Court. From the office staff to nurses/carers and domestic staff. The level of care and attention is outstanding, making a difficult time for our family a lot easier with the knowledge that Mum is being so well looked after and cared
for. She really could not be in a better place.

From the moment we enter we are always welcomed and made to feel safe and secure with all the testing. Very efficient reception. One member of staff in particular always answers our questions politely and is very informative. The newsletters are a great idea. The home is always clean and warm and the
staff are very friendly. I couldn't ask for a better home for Mum to be in.

My father was cared for for 4 1/2 years. The care was excellent and constant even through the covid time when visiting was limited you could Facetime at any time. This showed the quality of care and dedication of staff who treated him as family. Thank you so much.

GP surgery and Ashley Court have a close working relationship.

My mother was extremely fortunate to spend her last few weeks at Ashley Court, where she received excellent nursing care from professional, kind and sympathetic staff. Nothing was too much trouble, and communication was very good at all levels. The nurses were skilled, knowledgeable and always had time
to talk. Whenever my other wanted to chat or have her handheld, someone was there for her. But it is far more than that; it is a place where my mother died peacefully surrounded by people who gave her wonderful, loving care. I am eternally grateful for that. Thank you.

My husband and I recently celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary and because of COVID couldn't have the party that I had hoped for but the staff went out of their way to make it a special time for us. They made an area in the garden where myself, my husband, son, daughter-in-law, and 2 grandsons could
meet. There were banners, balloons, pictures, and snacks. It made the day very special. I would like to say a huge thank you.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.835)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.835) out of 10 for Ashley Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 64 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 64 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.835 for Ashley Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (644 Excellents x 5) + (105 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 759 Ratings = 4.835
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashley Court Care Home is based on 64 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 64 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
