Kirkwood Court Care Home

Been visiting a friend who stays here for a few months now. Each and every time I visit, every single member of staff offer a warm welcome and genuine positive attitude, which always makes it so I look forward to my next visit. In the review box below I haven't ticked the value for money box as that's not something I am privy to but I can honestly say I look forward to my next visit

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the staff involved in my fathers care throughout the recent fall and stroke diagnosis.The kindness, compassion and professionalism shown by each individual have been exceptional.The staff continued to support him with remarkable empathy, patience and dignity every day. What particularly stands out is seeing staff take the time to sit with my father when he was feeling anxious and confused following his stroke. The reassurance, kindness and patience they showed were invaluable. Not only to him but also our family. These small acts of kindness and genuine care make such a difference knowing he is being cared for by such dedicated individuals gives great peace of mind. Please pass on our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. Their commitment and compassion are truly appreciated and make a real difference to my father's wellbeing.

This is my first visit/experience of a care home. I am extremely impressed by the hard work and dedication displayed by all members of staff. They do care and have empathy for people that I could not match. They are dedicated to help. The residents here are, in my opinion, very fortunate to be here. I never write excellent for anything but regarding Kirkwood Court - I feel I have no other option. My only comment for improvement is that Ifeel more of the "green stuff" - salads be provided

My Mam has been at Kirkwood court for over ten years now and I honestly couldn't ask for better care, The staff are kind, professional and care about the residents. Its clean, welcoming, and she's happy here - which gives us real peace of mind.

Kirkwood Court is an amazing place, I couldn't thank the staff enough for everything they do for my nana. The residents are always happy & staff are amazing. There are always plenty of activities for the residents to be entertained. I love hearing about my nana's day and what she has been up to. My nana adores all the staff Speaks so highly of them. This home has given my nana her life back again. x

Very happy with the way Pat is being looked after and all the staff are great to me and I have no complaints at all.

My mum has been at Kirkwood Court Care Home for nearly 2 years now. I have found all the staff and carers very kind and helpful. It is always clean and fresh. Obviously my mum wants to come home, but I know she finds it has a nice atmosphere. Food is of a good quality, also it's great there are always activities going on nearly every day.

My mother has been in the care home for almost 3 years. She settled in well and the staff were always courteous & helpful. However, more recently, I have had a concern regarding a lack of communication with regards to issues with Mam. I have not been informed of medical issues and previous requests for appointments to be made for Mam in relation to opticians and hairdressers have not been actioned. I do feel Mam receives good care and there are many activities to join in with.

I feel great knowing I can leave my nana here and she is well looked after and safe.

My step father has been in the home for 2 years now, and we were happy to leave him here, knowing he was going to have the best care needed. The staff are amazing and treat everyone with dignity and care. He enjoys the food, only thing he complains about is the battered fish and chips. So overall 5 star. Thanks to everyone for taking care of him its much appreciated. xx

Coffee morning excellent, very nice food staff really good as always. Mam enjoyed herself.

My father became a resident at Kirkwood Court at the start of February 2025 and as a family we couldn't be any happier with the care he is receiving within the care home. The staff and management always have a welcoming smile on their faces, the building is always spotlessly clean and my father, who is now 93 years old is being looked after with the utmost compassion and care by such wonderful, friendly caring staff. Thank you!

I would just like to say the quality of care for the residents at this home is first-class. My dad has been a resident for over 18 months and the staff are brilliant with him. The home is beautiful and gardens are lovely. The activity coordinator is fabulous (Dad baked his first cake, he's 90 next year). Nothing is a problem for the staff and they're always there to help. Thank you for caring for my dad as it's so reassuring knowing he is well looked after.

The big issue for our family was getting my aunt settled. She had lived alone for 40 years and coming into residential care was a very big change. Now in April, she is quite well integrated and starting to appreciate the activities and the companionship of other residents. In particular, she feels safe and comfortable.

Kirkwood Court is a fabulous care home. Staff are always courteous and kind. Noticeably a particular staff member always works her magic as an activity coordinator keeping everyone entertained. Never had an issue of any kind with my dad in this home.

The floor where my mum now lives at Kirkwood Court is a unique place. It is somewhere where one feels safe, can grow in different ways, have fun, enjoy friendships or be nurtured during challenging times. All the staff are exceptional. As Mum tells me every day when I call from Canada, where I now live, "everyone is so kind". Being here allows one to be the best version of themselves. Celebrating Mum's 100th Birthday here was the best.
