There is always a lovely atmosphere when I visit Kirkwood Court and this can be attributed to the staff who are always friendly and welcoming. The accommodation is excellent and the grounds are lovely. My father has dementia and is unable to communicate his needs clearly but the carers have taken the
time to get to know his personality, likes and dislikes so they are able to address his needs and wishes. The well-being coordinator arranges a variety of fun and engaging activities and entertainment which Dad enjoys. I am very grateful that all family members are involved in discussing his care and the carers keep us well informed with frequent telephone calls. I feel confident that he is treated kindly and that he is in a safe environment.

Both myself and other family members, who visit my elderly father at Kirkwood Court Care Home on a regular basis, have always been very impressed by the high level of care offered and delivered. All of his carers are dedicated to looking after my father with the utmost patience and attention to detail.
They listen to both his requests, and ours, and are always on hand with a smile and a cheerful disposition. The home itself is clean and immaculate and the food served is delicious and nutritious. I know that my father is very happy and settled at Kirkwood Court Care Home and I could not wish for a safer and more caring environment for him.

My mum had dementia and was fortunate enough (after research by my wife) to come to spend her last 2 years in Kirkwood Court. It was a difficult time because of COVID. The staff at Kirkwood became her family when we couldn’t be there. They were amazing. The care, kindness, consideration, tolerance,
acceptance and understanding shown to a confused 88-90-year-old were outstanding. We, as her family in the UK and abroad, were also supported. Her end-of-life care was as good as it could ever possibly be and I speak as a very senior NHS consultant. Accepting that a parent has to go into long-term care can never be easy but I cannot thank Kirkwood Court enough for looking after my mum so well. I shall be forever grateful.

My mother received the best of care from the staff in the home. Their patience, kindness and skills helped to make her final years comfortable, safe ad positive. The home has a lovely feeling residents are well supported and treated with dignity and love. Thanks to all the staff for their care and attention.

My mam was admitted to Kirkwood Court in January and I can honestly say it was the most upsetting time for us all at home. A care home is the last place she would want to be and we were extremely anxious about what lay ahead. So far our experience has been fantastic! The staff are amazing they are so
friendly, caring and constantly interacting with her and I feel that she is well looked after. The home is clean and nice but more importantly, it has a lovely feel. There is often music playing, people chatting and the sound of laughter the staff keep me updated on how she’s been and speak to me like friends. I can’t recommend Kirkwood Court enough! 5*.

Although I was not able to visit my friend due to the pandemic I found your staff very helpful. I was able to know how my friend was when I telephoned. I was also informed of any decisions that were made. I found the arrangements for visiting were very good - when it was allowed. I was pleased to see
my friend was able to take part in the various activities through the photographs that were taken and displayed.

Our mam was admitted to Kirkwood in 2018 after becoming unable to manage in her own home. From the moment she arrived until she left just a few weeks ago to stay in a nursing home in Sheffield my sister and I have been hugely impressed by the care and commitment of every single member of staff. Not
only have they cared for our mam wonderfully well, but we have been made to feel really welcome every time we have visited. Obviously, Covid presented major challenges but at no time did we feel mam was at serious risk as the staff ensured protocols were in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all the residents. We would have no hesitation in recommending Kirkwood to anyone needing to be in a care home.

My mother spent two and a half years at Kirkwood, and in that time, which included the pandemic with all its difficulties, she was cared for with wonderful dedication. All the staff, from domestic/housekeeping to carers, administrators and senior staff, were unfailingly kind, patient, helpful and resourceful
to both my mother and to us as family and friends. I have already heartily recommended Kirkwood and will continue to do so.

I have always found the staff to be very helpful and caring towards the needs of my great Aunty. I have not been able to visit as much as I would have liked due to the current restrictions but, think it has been handled very well. I work in a different County as an officer in the fire service and the
staff have been great in arranging a through the window visit so I can be at least satisfied my Aunty is well. They seem to go above and beyond, by bringing my Aunt to the window as I return home from a shift.

Staff are professional, caring, enthusiastic well trained and all are kind and are prepared to go the extra mile to make my father comfortable, obviously, I only have very limited contact 30 minutes per week and I hope these observations continue when I'm not around. Since my relative came to Kirkwood Court Care Home he has been very happy. The staff are brilliant and engage with him all the time, they encourage him to get involved with activities and always look after his well-being.
