Collinson House is situated in the centre of Luton and aims to create an atmosphere which is calm, relaxed and reassuring for older people and those living with dementia.

The home provides residents with a secure, familiar and homely environment including spacious accommodation and modern facilities.

A dedicated team of staff are trained and supervised to provide the highest standard of care while responding sensitively to the evolving needs of the residents within a cherished community.

Residents, care staff, the resident’s doctor and relatives are all given the opportunity to contribute to an agreed care plan. This outlines what the particular needs and wishes of the resident are and establishes the appropriate level of service required.

The home also employs a skilled group of support staff, including cooks, domestics and laundry personnel to enhance the quality of life for each resident.

Residents are encouraged to participate in the activities programme which is organised by the activities co-ordinator.

Mum has been at Collinson House for more than two years now and the staff know and understand her needs. She has a good relationship with her main carers and management. I feel I can always talk to management about any concerns that I have. I am also confident that they will keep me updated on Mum's
condition and I feel she is safe and cared for.

First experience of residing in a care home, welcomed with care and kindness, soon aware of busy routine but have own room so minimum disturbance. Pleasant room, clean and fresh decor - restful view from room of the garden and trees.

The staff at Collinson House have gone above and beyond for our loved one. Our loved one can be extremely difficult and resists any assistance, and can also be verbally and physically aggressive. The staff are patient, kind, tolerant and understanding. They have tried many times to put things in place
that might enable our loved one to be happier and less resistant to help, and even though nothing was working, they never gave up trying.

My Mum has been a resident at Collinson House for 3 years and I'm very happy with the level of care she gets. The team are all very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I believe that wherever you go, in most cases, it's the people who make the difference in how a place feels, the team do that
here.
I always feel confident that Mum is being well looked after when I'm not there.
I would recommend them to family and friends.

Most staff are helpful and friendly. Not a very good choice for meal times. Would be nice if we could stay when it is meal time as mum is confined to her room, understandably meal times are protected but she can’t be moved into the dining room.

My aunt was a resident at Collinson House for nearly 3 years. I found the managers and staff to be very caring and easy to talk with about any concerns I had about my aunt's health and welfare.
My aunt suffered from dementia and other health issues. The staff knew her well and would contact us if
and when the need arose to let us know if she was not well. We visited her and were always made welcome. I would recommend this care home.

My mother-in-law was a resident here from December 21st 2022 - 27th January 2023. All the staff were very approachable, polite and very welcoming. She was pretty happy here (my mother-in-law) and she was 98 years old whilst in here. Her room was clean and tidy too. Thank you very much to all.

I am delighted to say that this is the perfect care home and setting for my dad. All care provided from personal to social skills and sensory - I can't confess that if my father was in this situation again, I wouldn't hesitate to choose Collinson House again, from great communication with staff, all
concerns dealt with promptly and in good time from all. Hospital visits attended with a member of the team if I can't go. Meals are properly given, and activities are unbelievable. Dedication from the care manager and her fantastic team of carers. Total dedication from all.

Collinson House Care Home have cared for my nan from February 2020. Staff took the time to get to know my nan and her needs and Nan settled well. It was a very difficult time for the whole family and with Covid but Collinson House always kept us informed on how Nan was doing and the care and service
has been of a high standard. Management and staff go above and beyond and are always friendly, approachable, communicate well and listen to the family to provide the best possible care for Nan. My grandad also stayed here for a short time and I want to thank everyone at Collinson House for all the care and dedication they provided and continue to provide for my nan.

My nana needed respite care for two weeks to give my granddad a break, it was such a difficult time due to Covid, we were unable to view the home before admission and was going on feedback from others who had stayed in the home.
We were continually updated on how she was doing, we could call daily
and FaceTime and even see her through the window, she was clean, happy and smiling, it was very difficult to put Nana in the home but the staff were excellent and put the whole family at ease during her stay.
Can not fault the management and staff, they went above and beyond to ensure Nana was happy and we were updated at all times.

My dad stayed here for six weeks after being in hospital for a long time. The staff were brilliant with helping rehabilitate my father and get him back up on his feet. The staff were amazing and my father was always so positive about the staff and how great they were. He thoroughly enjoyed the food
and stated how friendly and loving all the staff were. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

My dad is very comfortable here, he knows the layout and all the carers and residents very well and is well looked after, although he can at times be challenging, he enjoys a game of dominoes and gets to play often.

I had my great-uncle come to Collinson House Care Home until he passed. He was particularly difficult to manage at night time, the manager assured us that his needs will be met. The staff were patient and friendly and made him happy and comfortable in his last days.

My mum, who is in her mid 90s, has dementia and has been cared for at Collinson House Care Home since July 2020. Throughout this time she has received excellent care and the staff make Mum as comfortable as she could possibly be. Additionally the Collinson House staff have treated me and my father with
the utmost consideration and friendship. I cannot speak too highly of the care and service they provide.

Hello, my name is Mandy and I am the manager of Collinson House. Having started my career in Nursing I transferred my skills to Health and social care and have over thirty years of experience.


I am a focused and driven manager with a strong belief in developing our team in order to provide exceptional care delivery. I love to spend time with family and friends and enjoy swimming, reading and cooking in my free time.
