We love the friendly, warm and welcoming atmosphere. Everywhere we visit, staff greet us, know who we are and who we are visiting. The home is very well maintained and tastefully decorated. We like to see the continued improvements, for example plants, landscaping etc. Mum likes the companionship and
enjoys the activities on offer. The food is excellent and Mum likes the way it's served and presented.

We have all been so impressed with the care that my mother-in-law has received. We cannot fault the staff in any way. They are caring, friendly and professional at all times. 'Homemakers' sums the staff up perfectly. We would not hesitate to recommend them.

All the staff here at Verwood House are angels. They cannot do enough for the residents. They have made the place into a second home and I cannot thank them enough. The place is always happy, with lots going on, and even the cleaners are friendly and seem happy in their work. I cannot praise everyone
highly enough. Mum is always talking about the wonderful food too.

I can only say what a wonderful place Verwood House Care Home is. Since Mum's arrival a few months ago, everyone has been so attentive and caring. Mum arrived with a broken knee cap and the level of care has been superb. Supporting her with her hospital visits and providing the support she needs to
get back on her feet again. I'm full of praise for the carers, nurses, homemakers, kitchen staff and maintenance team for all that they've done to make her feel at home and encouraging her to join in with all the activities, of which there are lots. Well done to everyone and thank you. It's very reassuring to know Mum is in the best possible hands.

I was so pleased that my auntie has settled into Verwood House Care Home because I was worried at the time when I had to move her. It was definitely the right move for her as she seems so much more calm and happy. The staff are all lovely and always ask you if you need anything. My auntie does seem
to join in with the activities which is also nice to see.

Very welcoming staff who are always polite and friendly when I visit. Everyone is happy to help and answer any questions at all times.
My friend has settled in very well and also speaks highly of the care and attention she receives and I am sure she is being very well looked after. She is very comfortable
in her new surroundings and seems relaxed. She has also commented on the food which she enjoys.

My wife has Alzheimer's and was diagnosed twelve years ago. I looked after her until September last year, at which time she went into respite care at Verwood House Care Home. However, after a short period, it was decided to make the arrangement permanent. She is now looked after extremely well by excellent,
caring staff and nurses on-site. The whole site is welcoming, from the manager to the caring staff, and I am happy for my wife to be a resident.

Respite care for sixteen weeks. My mother enjoyed her stay and formed good relationships with staff and other residents. She was sad to leave. The standard of care was generally very high. My mother's only complaints were regarding a lack of fresh fruit and vegetables in her diet and some ongoing problems
with the water supply that led her to miss her evening shower on a number of occasions. Standards seemed to go down at weekends, apparently, due to short staffing and no management presence.

Unfortunately, we had encountered emergency plumbing issues which led to your mum missing some of her evening showers, however, there were other bathing facilities available but we fully appreciate that this wasn't her first choice. Our chef and his team endeavour to use local suppliers wherever possible and the menus are seasonal, however, your comments have been taken on board and they are always looking for areas in which to improve, wherever possible.
Thank you again and we hope to welcome your mum back sometime in the future.

Always very friendly and helpful. Mum is very happy and likes to join in the activities. They manage Mum's confusion and only suggests she does something, so she does not get agitated or aggressive. The manager and well-being coach are exceptional.

A huge thank you to all the staff at Verwood House Care Home who treated our dad and the family with kindness and respect in his last days. We wish we could have gotten him to you sooner. Nothing was too much trouble, the care provided was of the highest quality and the staff were friendly, patient
and happy. The room was light and airy and furnished to a high quality. We would highly recommend this nursing home for your loved one.

All staff here are terrific, caring and staff are responsive to any issues or concerns raised. Overall, the level of care that my mother-in-law receives, is excellent. The home is purpose-built and as a result of that, it confirms the level of care that is being provided and makes it a pleasurable environment

I love everything about Verwood House. My mum (and I) have been made incredibly welcome. The loving attitude, care and attention shown to my mum by homemakers and other staff alike, have been amazing. Everyone has helped her settle in and ensuring she is happy and safe during what is a big transitional
phase in her life. I cannot speak highly enough of everyone I have met, from my first tentative phone call, to the moving-in day. The support for me, as well as my mum, has been excellent and our journey has been the best it could possibly be.

The staff at Verwood House are always very friendly and helpful. Sometimes the food does not look appetising eg the brownie was so hard without cream you would not be able to eat it, just simple chocolate cake would be a much better choice for older people. Otherwise a good choice for Mum.

My dad is at Verwood House and I can say with my hand on my heart, that he has the best care and the staff are all amazing and it's clean and professionally run and each team member truly cares about all residents, so I wish to say a huge thank you. Dad has been there many months now and I never worry

Very pleasing environment, kept well. Staffed by caring and considerate carers with the ethic emanating from the top. Care was shown to residents and visitors alike. Everything was done to make the residents feel as comfortable and content as possible. Ours was only a respite stay, but if the day comes
when it has to become permanent, then happy days are ahead.

The home is very clean. The staff met us at the door. We were tested for covid. Our friend was treated with great care and dignity. The rooms are of a generous size and have their own ensuite. We were offered tea, cake and biscuits, which were very much appreciated as we had travelled from London by

Job Title: Registered Care Home Manager Joined: 2024

Julie has over 10 years of experience in the care industry, starting as a part-time cook and care assistant before progressing to senior care assistant, deputy manager, and eventually managing her first home. She has since gained extensive experience managing a variety of care settings, including residential, dementia, and nursing homes, where she has successfully improved and commissioned homes before joining the team at Verwood House. Julie holds a Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership and a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management, both of which support her role as a Home Manager. From her very first day in a care home, Julie felt a deep connection with caring for the elderly and has been dedicated ever since to fostering a warm, homely environment where residents and their families can live, love, and laugh together. Julie is proud to be part of the Verwood House team, where everyone is committed to going the extra mile to brighten someone’s day.


Outside of work, Julie enjoys walking in the New Forest with her dog, Ted.
