My grandfather was admitted last January to Waterfield House after a lot of prompting and encouragement from the family. I couldn't believe my eyes when I visited him last week. The home is now opening to garden visit and grandad is really happy there. He said his wife should also come and live there with him! He said the place is safe and that the staff check his temperature every day and get medical help for him in an event for minor issues. It was a good visit and we left with a profound peace of heart. Waterfield House is a beautiful place.

She was not the easiest of patients and even when her behaviour was at its most challenging she was met with unflappable and unfailing kindness. The staff showed extraordinary levels of care as her life reached its end, for which her family will be forever grateful.

This is a really lovely care home, amazing people, residents, carers. Would recommend to anyone.

Mum was at Waterfield House over 4 years and received the best possible care and respect. In the early years, mum fully enjoyed all the activities - knit and natter, gardening, painting, singing etc. She loved her room, especially her bathroom (which she showed us every time!) Waterfield House is light and airy, the garden peaceful, the café a great place to bring your loved one.
Over the years and progression of mum's dementia, the staff and management became her extended family. They are very experienced, genuinely caring people and many have been there a long time. The manager was tremendous to talk to, particularly through the difficult times - the loss of dad, the ups and downs of mum’s health and finally mum’s passing. I live away, so emails, photos and phone calls were invaluable.
Having a loved one with dementia is a rollercoaster of emotions, but we knew from the start that mum was in the best hands. Thanks Waterfield House! You made mum’s autumn years the best they could possibly have been.
Enjoyed my stay. Staff very helpful.

I think the care was excellent. They treated me well but I was on my own too much because a lot of the people have been here a long time and did not know me, but the staff were wonderful.

Management encourage communication with their staff and for me, that is vital.
I am a self confessed "high maintenance" daughter and yet, without exception, I am always greeted with beautiful smiles and offered complete support.
I know how difficult it is to be a carer, so it is with sincerity that I say this group from Waterfield House are to be commended.
Wonderful caring staff. Very professional care home.

My mother has lived here for over a year now and is very well looked after in the upstairs dementia wing. Staff are welcoming and respectful. Staff encourage residents to participate in a range of activities and mum enjoys these. The staff are always prompt in contacting us if there are any health...
This is a very calm, well run home and I am pleased we found this home for mum.
When the care home my grandmother was resided in closed in May 2016, we took the opportunity to move her to Waterfield House to be closer to her grandchildren. The home has been excellent, everything we could want for our grandmother, who has quite severe dementia. The staff are all wonderful,...
The keypad entry to the home and the dementia floor is a reassuring feature and the coffee shop and garden areas are great to be able to use whenever we visit. Our grandmother says she enjoys the food and activities which she regularly joins in with.
We are extremely appreciative of the care our grandmother receives at this home and can highly recommend it.

At the age of 85, my mother was made homeless and was placed temporarily in Waterfield House. Although a 100-mile round trip each week to visit her, it soon became apparent that this is where she was happy and wanted to remain. The care she received in her eighteen months here was exceptional and the facilities excellent. All the staff, from carers, cleaners, management at all levels, friendly, approachable and always available when needed. Unfortunately, mother has just passed away but we will always be indebted to Waterfield House for making her final eighteen months so happy and a place she always referred to as home.

My aunt was a resident here for about 5 years and was happy and well cared for. Food was excellent and the staff were friendly, cheerful and kind. In her own words, she felt safe here.

The home has a wonderful ambience and a kind and friendly staff. We would never hesitate to recommend this home to anybody.
Firstly the home itself is light and airy and doesn't have any unpleasant smells. It is welcoming. The staff have gone beyond what was necessary. When my mother was admitted to the home her needs were better suited to a nursing home, but as she has already adapted to the home they were reluctant to...
This included preparing special meals for her as she had difficulty swallowing, also being attentive as to when she had urinary infections so she could be given antibiotics and therefore made more comfortable.

I, Serin Jose, began my career with Runwood Homes on 3 March 2022 as a Night Carer. Through dedication, hard work, and continuous support from the organisation, I was promoted within a few months to the role of Night Care Team Leader. I successfully carried out this role for one year, demonstrating strong leadership and the ability to manage and support my team effectively during night shifts.
Following this, I progressed to the position of Day Care Team Leader, where I further developed my leadership, communication, and organisational skills while ensuring high standards of care and teamwork during daytime operations. During my journey, I also completed the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care, which enhanced my knowledge and professional practice in adult care.
I have been given opportunities to support other homes within the organisation, which helped me gain broader experience, adapt to different team environments, and contribute positively to maintaining care standards across services.
In September 2025, I was promoted to Unit Manager at Waterfield House. In this role, I continue to lead by example, ensuring person-centred care, staff development, and effective team coordination.
I believe I have strong leadership skills, good communication abilities, and a high level of empathy, which are essential in delivering quality care. I am committed, hardworking, and always willing to support both residents and staff. I take pride in promoting a positive working environment and ensuring the well-being and dignity of all individuals in my care.

Hi, I'm Sathian! I have proudly served as the Maintenance Man at Waterfield House for the past seven years, and I’ll be celebrating this milestone on January 31, 2025. I have a deep passion for repair and maintenance work, and I love exploring new techniques and tools to enhance my skills.
One of the most rewarding parts of my role is interacting with the residents—I enjoy our conversations and the sense of community they bring.
Outside of work, I like to unwind with movies and music, two of my favourite pastimes. They keep me inspired and relaxed, much like my work at Waterfield House.

Hi, I'm Mandy! I have been the Home Administrator at Waterfield House for three wonderful years. I truly enjoy meeting the public, including residents' relatives, and spending time with the residents themselves.
I believe in keeping life light-hearted and finding joy in every day. Outside of work, I stay active by running, going to the gym, and walking. When I’m looking to relax, you’ll often find me diving into a good book.

My role is the head housekeeper. I make sure the environment is clean and well-presented. I have been with Runwood for 10 years. I have received Dignity Star of the Month several times and won an award for best-dressed showroom. A fun fact about me is I was the new year baby for 1988 I was in the paper and my mum received a ring from the local jewellery store which I now own. What I like best about my role is the satisfaction of a well-presented home and making it comfortable and homely for the residents and families visiting.
My main hobby is walking, I have completed all the highest peaks in England among many other smaller ones.
