My mother didn't want to go into respite care home but after two weeks of respite she didn't want to come home. She says the food was very good and the staff were lovely and she had made many friends there. She can't wait for her next respite time.

I have found the manager and staff to be very supportive concerning my aunt's move from sheltered accommodation in Devon to the dementia unit at Waterfield House. She has settled in very well, everywhere is immaculately clean, and the staff are always cheerful and approachable. I have put some of my aunt's own furniture and pictures in the room to help her feel at home, friendships are encouraged, and she is enjoying the food. The garden is a lovely place to sit. Relatives are encouraged to become involved in events at the home. I am delighted that my aunt is now so near to me, and is safe and well cared-for.

I, Serin Jose, began my career with Runwood Homes on 3 March 2022 as a Night Carer. Through dedication, hard work, and continuous support from the organisation, I was promoted within a few months to the role of Night Care Team Leader. I successfully carried out this role for one year, demonstrating strong leadership and the ability to manage and support my team effectively during night shifts.
Following this, I progressed to the position of Day Care Team Leader, where I further developed my leadership, communication, and organisational skills while ensuring high standards of care and teamwork during daytime operations. During my journey, I also completed the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care, which enhanced my knowledge and professional practice in adult care.
I have been given opportunities to support other homes within the organisation, which helped me gain broader experience, adapt to different team environments, and contribute positively to maintaining care standards across services.
In September 2025, I was promoted to Unit Manager at Waterfield House. In this role, I continue to lead by example, ensuring person-centred care, staff development, and effective team coordination.
I believe I have strong leadership skills, good communication abilities, and a high level of empathy, which are essential in delivering quality care. I am committed, hardworking, and always willing to support both residents and staff. I take pride in promoting a positive working environment and ensuring the well-being and dignity of all individuals in my care.

Hi, I'm Sathian! I have proudly served as the Maintenance Man at Waterfield House for the past seven years, and I’ll be celebrating this milestone on January 31, 2025. I have a deep passion for repair and maintenance work, and I love exploring new techniques and tools to enhance my skills.
One of the most rewarding parts of my role is interacting with the residents—I enjoy our conversations and the sense of community they bring.
Outside of work, I like to unwind with movies and music, two of my favourite pastimes. They keep me inspired and relaxed, much like my work at Waterfield House.

Hi, I'm Mandy! I have been the Home Administrator at Waterfield House for three wonderful years. I truly enjoy meeting the public, including residents' relatives, and spending time with the residents themselves.
I believe in keeping life light-hearted and finding joy in every day. Outside of work, I stay active by running, going to the gym, and walking. When I’m looking to relax, you’ll often find me diving into a good book.

My role is the head housekeeper. I make sure the environment is clean and well-presented. I have been with Runwood for 10 years. I have received Dignity Star of the Month several times and won an award for best-dressed showroom. A fun fact about me is I was the new year baby for 1988 I was in the paper and my mum received a ring from the local jewellery store which I now own. What I like best about my role is the satisfaction of a well-presented home and making it comfortable and homely for the residents and families visiting.
My main hobby is walking, I have completed all the highest peaks in England among many other smaller ones.
