All I can say about this care home is a massive thank you! The staff have been amazing since I needed them suddenly. In addition to looking after Mum with kindness, care and dignity, their professionalism really took the pressure off of us at a very difficult time. All of the staff have been very kind and helpful, especially the actual carers who are simply angels as far as I am concerned.

My nan has been part of the Cliftonville family for the past 4 years and it has given her a new lease of life! As a family, we love how well cared for she is and how welcoming all the staff are. The bedroom is always spotless, as well as the lounge which offers tea, coffee and biscuits for your visit. During Covid, the staff were a massive comfort to Nan and helped her to stay in touch with our family by teaching her to use video calls.
We often look forward to the regular social media updates, with the personal favourite of the infamous carpet bowls competition on a Monday. This is one of Nan's highlights of the week and loves to show off the trophy when she has been triumphant.
Along with the singalongs and movie screenings, the staff organised a party for Nan to celebrate her 100th and 101st birthday in style. Organising all the food and entertainment, these are 2 days we will not forget.

We cannot wait to celebrate another year with Cliftonville!

Dad moved into Cliftonville Care Home in August 2022. He is 95 and has settled in well. He really enjoys ambling around the lovely garden area - almost as much as he enjoys the food! He actually put on weight in the first couple of months, which was great to see. We find the staff attentive and caring, they all know the residents extremely well and with different floors for different needs the residents aren't overwhelmed by lots of different people and new faces all the time, which we thought was an important aspect for Dad. The rooms seem to be well designed for their purpose and the overall layout of the home is very pleasing for residents and their visitors alike and we are all happy with the care Dad is receiving at Cliftonville and the fact that he has settled in so well.

My grandfather was nursed for 3 years after suffering a stroke. His sister, my great aunt, has been happy in residential for 3.5 years. I have visited frequently for over 6.5 years. As a nurse of 30 years, I can confirm that the home, standards of care and the staff are excellent. It is home from home for residents, with fresh decor, pretty gardens and it is always warm and spotlessly clean. The food is fresh, tasty and nutritious with varied menu choices. There is a cinema, a varied activity schedule for the residents and a hair salon with a visiting hairdresser. There is a summer fete and regular events for residents and their relatives. The staff all go the extra mile and nothing is too much effort, as well as all being caring and very kind. The main staff are all lovely, as are the rest of the team. I couldn't wish for my aunty to be better cared for. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, I admire you all for all you do.

My grandmother has been residing at Cliftonville Care Home for the past six months and all of the family have nothing but positive feedback. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted into a wonderful environment. The staff are all helped with anything you may need. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you everyone at Cliftonville Care Home for the care provided for my grandmother. There is nowhere she would rather be!

Excellent care home, staff always pleasant, helpful and courteous, despite being extremely busy. Thank you all and a huge thank you to the customer service manager who always goes the extra mile to make sure my father, who visits my mother all day everyday, is so very well looked after as well. It means so much, thank you again.

My Mum moved into the care home in April. She did not settle but the staff were very attentive and she was a lot better off than at home. In November she became ill and went into hospital, then came back to the nursing floor of the care home for end-of-life care where she was looked after very well and kept comfortable, dying peacefully. I was very happy with the care provided.

My Mother required end-of-life care, we had been assured that this care home could provide this level of care. Unfortunately, this was not our experience and I would not recommend this care home for this level of care. We had been promised that mother would be comfortable and pain-free for her final weeks and days. This was not the case and there were occasions where we had to push the nurse to administer morphine. This home seems to struggle retaining and recruiting staff. There was very little continuity of nursing staff with bank staff being used on a number of occasions, with the result that they were not familiar with my mother's needs. At one point an ambulance was called and she was taken to hospital because she had worsened, what did they expect as she was end of life! On mothers passing we submitted a formal complaint, this was not answered within the 28 days and I had to chase them for a reply. I understand the manager that started as my mother was admitted left some weeks later.

Just wanted to post a review to thank all of the staff involved in the end of life care of my friend of 45 years, who was in residence on 2nd floor from June to August 2023.
I know that everyone involved in his care did their best to ensure that his dignity and quality of life was as good as it possibly could have been. This was appreciated by my friend and visitors to the home during his brief stay.
I would have given a 5 star rating, but if I had a criticism it was that there were too few staff in the home, based on the fact that I have had 10 years experience of monitoring my father, who had dementia in another care home, and that the staff who were on site were constantly being thanked for working really hard to cover the shortfall and were clearly under pressure.

Particular thanks goes to the nursing team and also the young entertainments lady, who on my friend's arrival personally went out of her way to ensure my friend had access to some things that the home did not normally have on site.

Disappointed at the lack of activities. I asked for information to be added to the care plan at least twice - still this was not being actioned. The nurse was great. Obviously cared about my Mum and listened/actioned my requests. Clean and lovely decor. Many of the staff didn't seem interested in their role.

My dad has moved into Cliftonville Care Home recently for end of life care. We have found it to be nothing but excellent. The staff are so kind and caring, from the receptionists as you arrive, to the care givers and management. Watching how they interact with him and genuinely support and care for him leaves us in no doubt that he's in absolutely the best place.

We placed my father in the care of Cliftonville Care Home, for end of life nursing care.
The care which my father received was, in his own words "Perfect".
All his needs were met. All the management and staff went above and beyond, to ensure my dad's experience was the best possible.

I'd like to thank everyone for their kind support to both me and my wife during a difficult time.

My lovely husband went to Cliftonville in December 2020, and I really cannot fault the care he has been given. I was suffering badly from anxiety and depression after his diagnosis of vascular dementia, but the staff, from reception to floor caregivers, were so kind and supportive to me as well.
They seem to genuinely care for him, and you could feel that... he responded to them with a smile, even on bad days.
He has suffered quite a bit physically been admitted to the hospital many times, but they have always done their best to care for him there and have sorted out many problems themselves. I have made many phone calls checking on him, and I have never been made to feel a nuisance by reception staff or the carers... they have kept me in the loop even though Covid when life was difficult for them.
There are always little things that come up now and again, but the best efforts are made to put them right.

This is my personal experience, but I do feel the ladies on the Ashby floor deserve full credit for their loving care.

Although we have had issues in the past we are now delighted to recommend Cliftonville Care Home because under new management and staff have improved significantly. This has included arranging for Mum who is bedridden to go outdoors which she was desperate to do.

Very pleased at how a member of staff is now involved in the oversight of Cliftonville, bringing many years of successful experience. My mother is positive about the regime and is happy there. Not everything is perfect, and I know this is hard to achieve in any care home, especially after Covid and recognising we are in a care crisis. I also have experience with a relative in a different home.

My dad has complex nursing needs and despite this, he initially seemed happier at Cliftonville than before his health issues took over. But in the 3 years since he first arrived, the quality of care has gone downhill. My dad still has his needs attended to, but will be considered an afterthought compared to those who are able to do some things for themselves, visiting him can be difficult as these needs will usually be done during 'safe' visiting times, whilst other residents/relatives do not have the same restrictions. There have been lots of staff changes and the home has recently been downgraded from "good" to "requires improvement", the acting manager's attitude to this was "lots of care homes have had their ratings reduced due to Covid". Communication has been non-existent at times. Hoping the new manager will change things and the new staff settle in.

I have always found, over the last ten years or more, the care and attention the staff give the residents are amazing. Our family have had two members here, and I have had two friends here, as well. Through the pandemic, I could not have asked for more from the staff in keeping everyone safe and happy in such difficult times. Also, when needed, help with forms and letters when I have not been allowed in. When losing family, they have been so caring to them and ourselves, making things easier to deal with. Well done.

Mum has been a resident at Cliftonville Care Home for three years. Her room is well-proportioned, light, bright and she has been able to personalise it. Although a large home, the individual floors with their own lounges and dining rooms keep it more cosy. Access to the shared gardens with sister home fosters extended friendships through shared activities/entertainment. The home is always very clean, both public areas and personal rooms, and residents' housekeeping/laundry is always efficient and of a high standard. All staff are professional but friendly to both residents, relatives and visitors and Mum has commented on the positive relationships between staff and residents and staff to staff. Many have been there since Mum arrived and know our family situation well.

Activities are offered and they offer a varied weekly diary with additional themed events for monthly birthdays and awareness days. Some of the outside entertainment is of a very high standard.
