My father has been in Beechdale Manor for eight months now and we viewed five homes when we were looking to place him. On our initial visit, we found a warm feeling when we first walked in. Everyone had a smile on their faces and it was a very friendly atmosphere. It has proved our instincts right as
the care he has received has been excellent.
All of the carers are very professional and have a great understanding of my father's dementia. They show a great respect for his dignity and, as I visit regularly, I notice the extremely warm and friendly approach extends to dealing with the needs of all the residents.
He is very secure on the first floor and his room has en-suite wet room facilities and is always kept clean. There are two lounges on his floor and a cafe with great views across the school playing field where my father loves to sit and watch the children play football while we have a cup of tea on my visits.
I will certainly recommend the home to others.

My mum stayed here for approximately 6 months in 2018. There are no doubt plusher and fancier care homes in which to place your loved one. However, I would challenge anyone to find a care home where there are more friendly, attentive and approachable staff than here. Everyone was friendly and treated
us with kindness and respect.

My mum was shown love, warmth, respect and her dignity was maintained at all times. Even if staff had worked on a different floor, they often came to say goodnight to Mum and gave her a friendly kiss. Her time in here was short due to a serious illness which in the end rendered her confined to bed.

Unfortunately, my mum has recently passed away. However, she could not have been in better hands and neither could we. It will act as a comfort to us that her final few months were spent here in such a warm, professional and friendly environment. Thanks to everyone at this home. You should all be very proud of yourselves.

This is a very safe and secure home for my elderly mother. The facilities are excellent with all areas and rooms well presented with every modern convenience. The staff are totally committed and professional whilst being extremely patient and caring. We are relieved that my mother is in such capables
at this time in her life.
A huge thank you to all concerned!

My mum has been in a few care homes but not been able to provide proper care for dementia. I can honestly say Beechdale Manor has been amazing. They totally understand dementia and give lots of encouragement and do their utmost to help them keep their independence as much as possible. Would recommend
Beechdale Manor to anyone.

My 92 year old mum moved into the home 6 weeks ago, and has settled in well. In fact, she seems to have taken on a new lease of life!
Despite her dementia, she is fully aware of the good care that she receives, and how kind and caring the staff are towards her.
Although English is not her first
language, staff try really hard to come up with novel ideas to get around this issue (they manage to get Mum involved in conversations/activities, and she ends up really enjoying herself).
The home itself is lovely and clean, bright and airy, and doesn't restrict visitors to certain times of the day (which is a massive help to me).
I am full of praise for this place.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.975)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.975) out of 10 for Beechdale Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.710 for Beechdale Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (68 Excellents x 5) + (23 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 93 Ratings = 4.71
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.265 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beechdale Manor Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.65
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 13 = 0.615
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
