My mother initially came in for respite care but became a permanent resident after the death of her husband. The care staff have all been amazing from day one, helping Mum through a difficult time. The doctor for the care home was already Mum's doctor, so this helped with Mum's transition. All the staff are wonderful, and Mum loves them all. She has a beautiful room and looks forward to all the activities, especially the fitness class. Her hair is done every week in the salon, and she has regular pedicures and dental checkups. I am always kept up to date with any medical issues, and the staff is always available for any general updates. I can't fault Newcross Care Home and would highly recommend.

My mother has been a resident at Newcross Care Home for twelve months. From day one all of the staff made her transition from independent living to care home residency trouble-free. The staff are professional and friendly as well as treating my mother with dignity. Facilities at the home are excellent including a wealth of monthly activities. In addition, the home operates an excellent relationship with a local Doctor and Dental Practice which has supported my mother when needed. I would not hesitate to recommend New Cross Care Home.

My mum came to Newcross Care Home after a fall resulting in a fracture which meant she was unable to go home. She could not walk very much but the care given by the staff has meant she is now walking with a frame and getting further each time this has meant she has kept her muscle strength. Mum is so much brighter and getting involved in activities we never thought she would as the encouragement given by the staff is fantastic. They have taken away all of our worries as we know she is well cared for and they keep us informed of even the slightest change in her health and doctors and other teams are on hand should she need them. She is eating much better and looks healthier than she did at home. I cannot praise the staff here enough.

My wife has settled in well due, I feel, to the excellent staff. All her basic needs are attended to as well as emotional support. I had visited several care homes in advance of my wife's residence and Newcross was by far the best.

I have always found the staff to be very caring and competent with Mum's care. They keep me informed of any issues and have managed to encourage Mum to join in activities and take her own outings, which she has really enjoyed. This has greatly improved her mental and physical well-being. The staff are always friendly and encouraging and will do all they can to help in any way.

I find the staff looking after my wife attentive and caring. She is very relaxed and content. As she suffers from Alzheimer's I feel this is very important and obviously not an easy situation for the staff who cope well with this problem.

Mom is very happy here, the staff tell me that she has always got a smile for them. Everyone is very professional and the level of care is excellent. Any issues are dealt with promptly. The covid restrictions obviously impacted upon the level of activities available. It would be good if the variety of activities returned to normal because they were excellent. In January 2020 when Mom was admitted, she used a walking stick but now her mobility is much improved and she no longer uses her stick!

Hello, my name is Beverley, and I am delighted to be the Home Manager here at Newcross.
I have 40 years of experience within the healthcare sector and have achieved qualifications such as the Management level 4 Registered Manager's Award. Working in residential and nursing settings, my previous roles have been as an Operations Manager and a Nurse.
Within this time, I have shared many treasurable moments with the residents I have had the pleasure to meet along the way. One proud moment that has stayed with me throughout my career was when I was able to reunite one of my residents with their brother, who had lost contact and not seen each other for 15 years. To their surprise, they found out they had only been living a few miles apart the whole time.
I would best describe myself as someone who is very outgoing, warm and welcoming and always wanting the best for the home. I pride myself in providing a high-quality service to all residents ensuring they receive an exceptional level of care and have a fun, enjoyable life here at Newcross Care Home. In my spare time, I enjoy going on holiday, meeting with friends for meals out and spending time with my family.
Avery Healthcare, owners of Newcross, strives to be the best in care, providing high-quality services whilst offering its best support to managers and staff. Our home is truly unique as it reflects Birmingham’s rich cultural heritage with our diverse and happy community.
I look forward to welcoming you to Newcross.
