Claremont Court Care Home is an award-winning care home that provides specialist dementia care with love and compassion. It also holds platinum accreditation with the Gold Standards Framework for end-of-life care.

The experienced team ensures that residents live well with dementia and achieve a high quality of life by receiving person-centred care, stimulation and social interaction designed to support their overall health and wellbeing.

The calm and welcoming home supports its team to provide expert residential dementia and nursing dementia care, having been designed to meet the needs of those living with complex dementia. It features wide corridors, clear signage to aid wayfinding and memory boxes for residents to personalise.

There are comfortable and spacious dining rooms, lounges, a library and salon, not to mention the home's loving cats, Clare and Monty, and therapy dog Ruby. The home’s large sensory garden features vegetable boxes that residents take pride in looking after.

Residents enjoy a varied schedule of activities tailored to their interests and abilities. These include arts and crafts, reminiscence activities, and dementia-aid computer games and puzzles. There are regular visits from performers, minibus trips to local places of interest and partnerships with schools and charities. It also hosts a monthly dementia support group.

And, with soothing lighting, music and aromatherapy, residents can experience multi-sensory relaxation as part of a group, or in the comfort of their own bedroom, during regular Namaste Care sessions.

Claremont Court provides the most wonderful warm atmosphere. Its something that I am aware of every visit and it is something that all the friends and relatives comment on.
Each staff member addresses us by name, shares a greeting and a little chat.
The care and kindness shown to my husband is absolutely
exemplary. Nothing is too much trouble in their care for my husband and they are so tactful as he dislikes needing help from them.
The activities team use encouragement for my husband to participate with the activites and Namaste is such a positive thing.
The relatives all know how very difficult it is to look after people with dementia which is such a cruel disease.
I think we all feel so personally supported by both the staff and the management team.

My brother moved to Claremont Court back in December 2024 and throughout this time the care he has received has been excellent.


My brother is not the easiest resident - he has significant learning difficulties, dementia and cannot communicate in any way - but the team at Claremont treat him with

respect and care. And, no matter how much fuss he makes when he is receiving personal care, they always provide this with kindness. Moreover, the staff are fully aware that my brother is resistant to personal care, so two carers turn up to help him and get his changed and clean in a prompt and highly efficient way.


I have also been impressed with the way that they spot things like UTI's and get him treated and they way that they are able to ensure that he always takes his medicine, Prior to Claremont he was at another home, where the care was poor, resulting is missed medication which resulted in seizures and stays in hospital.


In short, I highly recommend Claremont Court.

We have been really impressed with the excellent care from everybody....Everyone has taken so much trouble to settle my mother in to Claremont and she couldn't be in a better place. A very bright, positive atmosphere with a lot going on and excellent spaces both inside and outside.

My mother has been very well cared for at Claremont Court for more than three years. She was able to enjoy her birthday activity in October 2024, despite being very frail. Unfortunately, she can no longer take part in activities and is completely bed bound. The staff are kind and helpful and very professional
in their dealings with the residents and their families. My family and friends who have visited all comment on what a lovely place Claremont Court is, with a lovely atmosphere.

Friendly, helpful, caring staff working together as a team. Plenty of smiles! Management staff approachable and happy to discuss any general issues. Regular visits by GP who, together with nursing staff, keep us informed of any developments.
When selecting Claremont Court, we were advised the aim was
to make residents feel, as far as possible, like being at home. Not by chance, they achieve this in full measure.

Claremont Court is a fantastic home for my mother. She is safe and happy and her individual needs are really well understood and met. The care givers are motivated and wonderful at their job, the team spirit shines through. There are so many activities the residents can participate in, the team is
very creative with their activity offerings with something to suit everyone. The innovative namaste activities in a dementia dedicated setting is a leading program that creates calmness and comfort for the residents. I cannot praise and recommend Claremont Court enough!

Dad has been so happy at Claremont Court. Staff are caring, kind and respectful of all residents taking the time to get to know them and it feels like one big, happy family. Dad is supported to join in activities when he wants to, allowed to make his own choices about those he doesn't and clearly loves
the staff - they get a bigger smile than I do! They know his interests and preferences and support these. The staff have also been so kind and supportive of us, his family. I could not have asked for a better home for dad.

The carers treat the residents with great respect and kindness at all times, the atmosphere is friendly. It seems to me that great care is taken to make residents' lives as fulfilled and meaningful as possible even though many suffer from difficult symptoms of advanced dementia. I love the way carers
smile, wave and say hello to my mother by name as she endlessly walks up and down the corridors. She responds positively and tells me often that she doesn't know who tbe people are that walk up and down but that they are friendly and kind to her. I doubt I could easily find another home where my mother's difficult needs could be so well met.

Claremont Court is truly outstanding. We couldn't wish for our relative to be anywhere else. The staff are so very kind and we have complete peace of mind.
The staff are friendly and approachable. Importantly they treat the residents with great care and love. There is always something happening. They
have lots of people in to entertain such as singing, dancing, animals visiting and so much more... plus lots of outings.
We would highly recommend Claremont Court to anyone considering a dementia care home.

Finding the right care home for my father has been a tricky problem and this is his 3rd home in the space of 5 months but from day 1 since he has been at Claremont Court we knew we had found the right place. The staff are all lovely, friendly and thoughtful. There is always lots of activities. His bedroom
is bright, sunny and spacious. I only have high praise for this home.

My father has improved so much since he has been at Claremont court. He is socialising , getting involved in activities and walking alot more. None of which was happening before he moved there. He seems to be so settled and happy and everytime I visit he says how well the staff look after him. I find

I could not be happier with the team at Claremont Court, my experience with them and my dad's ongoing experience there. Dementia is an extremely difficult and nuanced disease to provide care needs for, and requires an almost limitless well of positivity, patience and perseverance, something that every
member of staff at Claremont Court display on a daily basis. It has an excellent management team, a superb and highly professional nursing team that provides regular updates and support, fantastic support team including two staff members in particular who feel like an extension of the care team, the vivacious activities coordinator who is constantly organising fun things for the residents, and each and every carer in the whole team contributes to the positive atmosphere and excellent functioning of the home. Every single person in the home deserves a shout out for their contribution on a daily basis and I know dad would be extremely thankful to each and every one of them.

My husband has been in Claremont Court since the end of January this year, and to start with, having been a very vibrant and active person, was quite a challenging resident for the first couple of months. However, Claremont handled it all very sympathetically, and sensibly and he is now happy and settled.
Claremont
organise a whole range of activities, outings, and entertainments to stimulate the residents, and is so lucky to have brilliant and caring staff at all levels. Dementia has to be one of the most challenging
types of behaviour to deal with, and Claremont Court certainly rises to the challenge.

My husband has been and still is receiving excellent care at Claremont Court. The Carers and staff are very patient and show empathy to both my husband and myself. There is always a relaxed atmosphere when I visit and the abundance of activities arranged for the Residence are very imaginative and fun.
They have a great Chef who makes lovely meals and amazing cakes. I have peace of mind that my husband receives the care that he deserves and needs and thank my lucky stars every day that he is looked after so very well.

The most wonderful and caring home for residents with dementia. The staff are so genuine including all the management staff.
I moved my Mum from another care home to Claremont as they were unable to meet her needs with dementia and Claremont was just amazing through the whole process. I cannot fault
them in any way! The facilities are spotlessly clean and all the residents are very well cared for and happy in there. Most importantly they have love and comfort around them. The manager and her team are the best you could possibly wish for! I am so very happy to have found this fabulous home for my Mum as it is such a difficult disease to deal with not only for the person affected but for the family members too in so many ways.
If you're looking for a care home for your loved one with dementia then look no further!

Our lovely mum has been a resident at Claremont for almost a year now. The staff are just incredible, showing warmth and compassion to the residents and families alike. Despite Mum having low mobility and not being able to speak so well since a minor stroke recently, her happy demeanor lets us know
that she feels safe and cared for. We really appreciate how the care assistants show her respect and dignity during personal care, where she can be difficult. We are also kept regularly informed of any issues/changes. The staff take the time to get to know the residents and what they like, so it's lovely to see Mum always involved in the singing and dancing activities going on, as she enjoys these immensely. We often come in to find her dancing in her chair in the lounge! As a family, we couldn't have asked for more, and we rest easy knowing she's in the best hands.

Karen Byres

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2014

Karen Byres, the Home Manager at Claremont Court has worked in care for over 25 years having started her career as a carer. Karen spent nine years working for another care home operator in the Guildford area as a Registered Manager so has a wealth of experience in managing and leading established care homes. Before joining Claremont Court Karen worked for two years improving the care standards of a care home that was judged as ‘inadequate’ by the regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and led the home to achieve fully compliant status. Karen is NVQ qualified and holds the Registered Managers Award. In addition, Karen has been trained in supporting people living with Parkinson’s and Diabetes, as well as completing a course in ‘Attachment and Awareness in Dementia’ at the University of Southampton.

Karen says: “I love working with the team at Claremont Court, who are dedicated to providing very personalised care to meet our resident's unique needs. Every day at Claremont is heartwarming.”
