I've always found the staff friendly and helpful though not always easy to contact over my wife's everyday care and frequent falls. But I have noticed bedside care etc though I regret she never seems to have been given chocolates given her by her visitors. The last couple of times staff have kindly
wheeled her out into the garden and my wife has lifted her head and made real eye contact. So many thanks for all you do. Thanks also for the regular contact with the doctor.
Reply from Karen Byres, Home Manager at Claremont Court Care HomeThank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We’re so happy to hear you’ve always found our team to be friendly and helpful. Please be assured we will continue to encourage your wife to enjoy the chocolates gifted to her and do all we can to be on hand to answer your calls. We’re also pleased that you have been able to enjoy spending time in our gardens together. As the weather continues to improve, we hope you will be able to spend more time out there together as she seems to enjoy it very much.

My 98-year-old mother suffers from dementia. Despite being disorientated in time and place and lacking awareness of the world around her, she continues to be happy, all her needs met and she is obviously well cared for. Since moving into Claremont Court, she has not expressed any word of complaint and
is obviously very fond of all her carers. Despite visiting at different times and days, I have always found her very well cared for. I am impressed by the resident-centered care which helps my mother to feel as though she is living in her own home. I have been highly impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the Care Home. My impression is that the home is well run with my mother enjoying the food, the activities and the comfort of her own room. It is a comfort to know she is so happy and well cared for. In my experience, any issues or concerns are easily and quickly dealt with. Communication from the care home is excellent.

I have been so delighted with - and humbled by - the loving care my husband receives at Claremont. He is always in immaculate condition whenever I visit, and is as comfortable as he can possibly be. The bandaging he needs on his feet is immaculate. I feel so fortunate that he was transferred to Claremont
in January and would like to give huge thanks to all the kind and very proficient staff who look after and care for him (and who are always ready to answer and deal with any questions or concerns). Sincere thanks are also more than due to those who are in charge and oversee Claremont. You are all absolutely amazing!

My wife has only been a resident since January 12th 2021 and because of Covid I have been unable to visit her.
However the help and friendly way she was greeted and the helpful way the staff have been when I have called to ask how she is getting on I cannot fault.
She has also settled very well.

The whole experience from the beginning to getting my dad into the home was easy, nothing was too much trouble. All the staff are so helpful, I haven't been able to go into the home due to Covid-19 but when I can it will be nice to thank the staff personally for the care they have given my dad.

The care and courtesy given to my wife has always been of the highest order. She has thrived in the environment of Claremont Court, and although her dementia prevents her from describing her experience it is clear in many other ways that she is comfortable and happy.
I too, as a visiting relative,
am always treated with kindness and courtesy by any member of staff that I meet. It has always been clear to me that there is a culture of care among all of the staff which must come from the very top.

In the many years my mother has resided at Claremont Court I have had every confidence that the management and staff have her best interests at heart. My mother is well settled and I wouldn’t dream of ever moving her, despite her being a distance from my home, but it was the best place I could find
for her within 25 or so miles at the time I was looking. There were many other homes I visited but there were many I would not put her in for a number of reasons. The manager, the staff and the home were the place I had been searching for; the best place for my mother.

Claremont Court took my husband for respite care after one care home had refused to have him, and another had thrown him out after six days. I immediately realised that he was not the most difficult resident there. Thanks to new medication and the excellent care, after a month I took him home calm,
lucid and happy. He enjoyed the many activities. I was impressed by the wonderful way the staff handled very mentally ill people.

My aunt was moved to Claremont after having a number of falls and her dementia deteriorated. In Claremont we know she is well looked after and is safe which is a huge relief. Claremont provides excellent food and there are always activities going on. Claremont understands the needs that are required
for each individual. Since being in Claremont my aunt's behaviour has calmed down and she is more settled. As for us it's nice we can visit anytime and are felt welcomed.

Claremont Court has a friendly, family and welcoming atmosphere to both residents and their families. The staff are professional, patient and always respectful of their charges. Nothing is too much trouble. There is always a staff member present, keeping a watchful eye on their safety and they are quick
to reassure anyone who displays signs of anxiety. I have never witnessed anything but positive caring from all members of staff.

Dad wanted to keep living alone as long as possible, but his health deteriorated, and the family were constantly worried. Now it's such a relief to know Dad is now safe, with somebody to look after him 24/7. We viewed several homes and Claremont COurt was the best. It's purpose-built, so everything
is well designed and equipped for Dad's needs. The decor is light and cheerful and kept spotlessly clean. The staff are all very well trained and have endless patience, never rushing Dad. This enables him to preserve his independence where possible. Importantly the staff are very caring and compassionate to Dad, and also to the family when we find it difficult to cope with his dementia.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.918)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.918) out of 10 for Claremont Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.918 for Claremont Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (305 Excellents x 5) + (23 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 330 Ratings = 4.918
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Claremont Court Care Home is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
