The meals are excellent 5 * + better than a 5 * restaurant. The service also. The staff are very patient and well trained. The gardens surrounding the home are well laid out and equipped with many surprises gym, shop, cafe + an excellent and dedicated gardener (also creative). I am keen on keeping fit
also rambling (aided by our minibus)

My wife and I do not have enough words in our vocabulary to express how wonderful Queen Elizabeth Care Home have been looking after the resident in all of her many needs throughout the last two years. Even her last few days before her death were beautiful and managed with much attention. Well done to

We moved my Mother to Water Mill as she had stopped eating or engaging with life at her previous care home.
In six weeks this situation has completely turned around. She is smiling again, engaging with staff and eating really well. The chefs/cooks at Water Mill have listened carefully to what Mum will
eat and have bent over backwards to ensure that she has nutritious food that she can enjoy. A very special mention for the hairdresser. She has encouraged and succeeded in getting Mum to trust her and have her hair cut and blow-dried for the first time in months. We are delighted and relieved to see Mum enjoying life again in this calm and caring place.

Since my mum moved to Water Mill Care Home, I have witnessed a new energy in her. Before she had become reclusive. She now has a smile on her face every day. She also joins in all the day's activities and loves getting her hair done in the salon. The staff are accommodating and so kind and friendly.
Nothing is too much trouble. Dealing with all her appointments and medical needs before, therefore this is all taken care of so I can enjoy quality time with her. I am frequently asked by the team how is Mum, is there anything more we can do for her and for you. I would highly recommend Water Mill, I feel have my mum back again.

Review of

Ashbrook Court Care Home

from Richard W (Son of Resident) published on 15 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 2.0 out of 5

My mothers experience was not good. Following an assessment by social services, they said that interim care was a good idea and stated that Ashbrook House confirmed that they had availability. Obviously we were anxious for mum to be in a safer in environment, however it took nearly 2 weeks for them
to assess and admit her. When she arrived there she was placed in a terrible environment for her, with poor dementia patients wandering around when my mother has fully capacity. On this wing, she had strangers wandering into her 'private' room, there was loud music blaring in the corridors. She wasn't allowed to chose her own outfits, and finally, she didn't like the food. Trying to contact my mother here was very problematic, very often excuses were made, and on one occasion I was connected to a stranger. Finally we transferred mum out of here, she had no discharge papers and they had 'binned' her prescription meds, leaving her without necessary medication for 24 hours.

Reply from Jonathane Ribeiro, Home Manager at Ashbrook Court Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and I'm sorry you felt that way. I was sad to read your thoughts and disappointed you hadn't raised your concerns before as we're always open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement to deliver exceptional care. Our residents are always encouraged to make a variety of choices including how and where they spend their time, what they eat and the clothes they wear. If someone is struggling to decide we may suggest a couple of ideas to help. We find the music in our corridors is a welcomed feature as it's made up of our residents' favourite songs. I wish we'd known you found it too loud as we'd have been happy to turn it down or relocate it. Please be assured, I was there when our nurse handed her medication over to a team member from your mother's new care home and the full paperwork was emailed across to them that day. Whilst I'm limited in the length of reply here, please contact me so we can discuss your feedback in more detail

My mum has had a hard time settling. Also does not want to live or eat kitchen home made special meals. A particular staff member went out his way to get her the emergency mental health team. Management have moved her room so she can see fields & animals & the school. Staff at all times go out of their
way to help her make her feel loved & special.

Dad has been so happy at Claremont Court. Staff are caring, kind and respectful of all residents taking the time to get to know them and it feels like one big, happy family. Dad is supported to join in activities when he wants to, allowed to make his own choices about those he doesn't and clearly loves
the staff - they get a bigger smile than I do! They know his interests and preferences and support these. The staff have also been so kind and supportive of us, his family. I could not have asked for a better home for dad.

Heathfield Court Care Home

from Catherine B (Daughter of Resident) published on 11 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Heathfield Court is exceptional. I can't recommend it highly enough.
The ethos of the place is clear from the moment you arrive and witness the smiles on the residents' faces.
Nothing is put on for show here. Day or night, you'll see the same friendly welcome and professionalism on display.
The entire
team follows the Manager's lead with a nothing-is too-much-trouble attitude. They treat every resident with dignity and get to know them and their families well. It's definitely not "one size fits all", with things tailored to each resident.
I now enjoy visiting as a daughter rather than a care-giver. I am kept informed and can relax, confident that all my Dad's needs are being met. Beyond that, it's somewhere he's encouraged to enjoy life with stimulating activities every day.
If you are agonising over the heartbreaking decision of needing to move a loved one into residential care then choose here. They'll put a protective arm around your loved one and a comforting arm around you too.

The carers treat the residents with great respect and kindness at all times, the atmosphere is friendly. It seems to me that great care is taken to make residents' lives as fulfilled and meaningful as possible even though many suffer from difficult symptoms of advanced dementia. I love the way carers
smile, wave and say hello to my mother by name as she endlessly walks up and down the corridors. She responds positively and tells me often that she doesn't know who tbe people are that walk up and down but that they are friendly and kind to her. I doubt I could easily find another home where my mother's difficult needs could be so well met.

Claremont Court is truly outstanding. We couldn't wish for our relative to be anywhere else. The staff are so very kind and we have complete peace of mind.
The staff are friendly and approachable. Importantly they treat the residents with great care and love. There is always something happening. They
have lots of people in to entertain such as singing, dancing, animals visiting and so much more... plus lots of outings.
We would highly recommend Claremont Court to anyone considering a dementia care home.

My Mum is having some respite care after falling and breaking her hip in January.
She is being well cared for and the staff are all very kind and friendly.
She has enjoyed joining in some of the activities when she has felt well enough to do so. She has found some days that the food choices are
not to her taste and the nights are quite noisy with buzzers waiting to be answered.
But overall she is happy and would choose Queen Elizabeth Park again if needed.

My father has been at QEP for a couple of months. He is wheelchair bound, catheterised and has very limited sight. For the first few weeks he was quite agitated in his new surroundings and it took him a while to get used to new staff helping him. But now he does seem more settled and in fact has gained
some weight which is encouraging.
The staff caring for him seem really friendly and kind and they really try and get him involved in the activities - most of which he does seem to enjoy even though he sometimes falls asleep in them.
At weekends there seem to be less activities and maybe this is something that could be improved on? When I run out of conversation during visits, we love doing crosswords together. Could the ones available in the bistro area be "updated" more frequently please? I try and remember to bring one or two with me but I often forget so having more of a choice available would be helpful.
Overall I am very pleased with the care my father is receiving.

My mother had to move to Queen Elizabeth last August as a matter of emergency because her house became unsafe. The staff were very accommodating and helpful in finding a room for her and in settling her in. Since then she has been cared for very well , both physically and psychologically. I know this
has challenges because of her dementia. She enjoys the meals, and everyone is very kind to her. The home always looks nice and is kept spotlessly clean. There are plenty of activities, even though she doesn't always join in.
