Water Mill House have been very accommodating with their help from the very beginning of our journey.
We were made to feel welcome from our 1st visit to view the premises with very little notice. We were met at reception and given a comprehensive tour with nothing hidden, everyone going about their
day to day routine.
The staff are all friendly and welcoming and all play their part in making the care home a nice place to reside.

Mum was a resident at Water Mill for the final six years of her life, and throughout that time she received excellent care. The staff showed genuine kindness, patience, and respect, treating Mum with real compassion. For the most part, they took the time to understand her needs, preferences, and personality,
and this made a significant difference to her quality of life as her needs changed over the years. In particular, I would like to highlight the exceptional care provided during the final three weeks of her life, when she was placed in palliative care. The compassion, sensitivity, and professionalism shown by the staff during this period was outstanding. They ensured that Mum was comfortable, calm, and well cared for, and they were equally amazing in the love, support, and reassurance they gave to us as a family at what was a very difficult time.

Honey Lane Care Home

I cannot praise Honey Lane enough for their care, attention and respect towards mum. All the staff are so lovely and kind, not only to the residents but also their family members. Mum moved in in November 2025 after a prolonged stay in hospital and, when discharged, was no longer able to live at home.

When looking at various homes, we were invited along to visit them before deciding. The warmth we received immediately was exactly what was needed, and we knew straight away that that was where we wanted mum to be, and she soon settled in. There are a variety of activities and interactions, or residents can just sit quietly or watch TV. The team all work very hard to maintain a good balance for their residents regarding their care, health and enjoyment of life.

Mum has since been back in hospital, but she is now back at home with them and getting the care and assistance she needs. I can also contact them and visit anytime knowing she is being well looked after.

My husband went into Ashbroook Court Care Home in April 2025. He was very difficult at the beginning, but the staff persevered with him, and he began to respect them all. He had a stroke in October and was unable to do anything for himself. The whole staff were absolutely brilliant. I called them my

Brooklands Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Mother spent her last 2 months of life in Brooklands, having been moved there from hospital for end of life care.
The support she received from all staff was fabulous, both while she was still mobile and in the last 2 weeks, where she was largely bed bound. Staff were very friendly and attentive,
including the management team.
She was made to feel comfortable from day one and looked forward to chatting with staff and other residents.
I was able to visit any time of day, as often as I wanted and was made to feel welcome every day.
My overall impression of Brooklands is that it is so clean with very good facilities. I was also very impressed by the level of activities put on for residents, with a weekly timetable provided. Mum was really happy to learn that there was a hair salon on site, which she used regularly!
The care in her final days was also very good and Mum left us in a very dignified and painless way.
Thank you Brooklands for the excellent care.

Overall home is providing a very good level of care to my father, care support is excellent as is the range of activities provided. Being predominantly female oriented residency, does present some challenges to Dad however the home has made every effort to involve him and keep him stimulated. Mobile
phone signal has been an issue at times, so quality of calls between Dad and family have not been easy. He is kept well fed and watered, though the food choices do appear somewhat bland and repetitive. He does have a medical condition which dictates what he should/should not eat and drink which I would like to see the home get on top of. Otherwise all good, room is spacious and comfortable with en-suite facilities and most importantly Dad seems settled.

From the moment our mother moved in, we felt reassured that she was in the right place. The home is always beautifully clean, warm and welcoming, but it is the people who truly make it special. The team are kind, patient and compassionate, and their professionalism and knowledge - especially in caring
for those living with dementia - shines through every day.

What means the most to us is seeing how happy our mother is. She tells us she feels safe, cared for and at home, and hearing that brings us enormous comfort. There is always something for the residents to enjoy, with thoughtful activities that bring joy, purpose and connection. Knowing that she is surrounded by people who genuinely care has given our whole family real peace of mind, and for that we are deeply grateful.

After mum passed in February 2025 the outstanding care continued from Nikki and all her team staff at Alderwood. First touch was the dignified manner in which mum's room was left after her passing to give us space and time to process her absence. Next, 6 weeks after her passing when life was moving
on for everyone else a beautiful memory rosebush arrived in the post for each sister - all were lovingly planted to mark mum's presence. Finally, 10 months later to mark the first Christmas without mum a surprise crystal heart alongside her photo reminded us that she was not forgotten and the outstanding care continued at Alderwood.

My husband has returned to Alderwood after he stayed there for a year previously. His health significantly declined and he had to be taken to hospital for some extra care and Alderwood was the only place I would ever have him return to. They have already in only a few months completely transformed him
and I am so happy with his care. I feel happy and confident knowing he is in the best place possible and I feel so much more relaxed when I am not with him as I know they love and look after him so well. I couldn't recommend Alderwood any higher and tell anyone who asks about care that Alderwood is the home they should go to.

My elderly mum has been in care at the Spinney for several months now and the care facilities are first class and very comfortable.
The care staff are friendly, supportive and caring and always attentive to their residents needs with quick response time. The kitchen catering is generally very good
with a variety of decent menus.
Overall, I would say The Spinney is a first class care home and is highly recommended.

Mum has been very well cared for at Heathfield. Despite her being unable to join in the numerous activities on offer, she is always included. Staff greet her with kindness and respect at all times. Dad and I visited lots of other care homes, none of them came close to matching the support, care and
ratio of staff to residents, particularly for those living with Dementia. Personally, the one word that sticks in my mind in relation to Heathfield is joy. It's not a place of sadness. It could be, like so many others are, but it's far from that. Activity planning keeps residents stimulated, events bring the community and families in. It's a place of celebration at what is for some of us, a very sad and difficult time.
