Very good overall care - carers and nurses are always kind , attentive, and in general efficient, though sometimes messages about my individual needs, though agreed in principle, don't get handed in to new carers and have to be explained by me. If very occasionally I need attention in the night, I always get it which is reassuring. I appreciate the comfort and spaciousness of Bridge House and the careful decor. So far, I'm able to get out, so I don't join in many activities, but I am aware that these are well arranged.
Standard of food I find variable - sometimes it's fine, often just ok, and occasionally poor.

My Mother needed respite care after shingles and moved into Bridge House for 24/7 care & nursing support. She was familiar with it as she had been to Bridge House twice previously whilst family members were on holiday and had liked the staff and enjoyed the activities on offer.She is now well recovered and healthier than ever and has become a permanent resident with all its advantages.
We have previous experience with care homes and cannot recommend Bridge House highly enough in comparison. Residents are treated with respect , the entertainment is outstanding and staff all go above and beyond .

Generally good but difficult to be very positive as relative has dementia and cannot give reliable information. Information from staff can be contradictory and some services seem to be lacking in proactivity.

My mother was resident of Bridge House April 2025 -April 2026. At first she was in very poor health, but with nursing care she made good recovery. Initially a poor joiner-in, with staff encouragement she became really quite active in the less strenuous of the numerous activities on offer such as animal therapies, crafts, music and would show enthusiasm and interest in what was coming up and despite being confined to a wheelchair took advantage of quite a few outings. I have nothing but praise for the politeness and friendliness of all staff I had dealings with. Should I have any questions or concerns I felt well able to approach anyone and if they were unable to fully answer, they made it their business to steer me towards somebody who could. They all seemed prepared to go above and beyond!
Sadly, my mother passed away April 2026, but the care she received right until the end was a credit to all the team at Bridge House.

My mother recently relocated to Bridge House from a care home where, as a family, we were unhappy with the standard of care she was recieving. The change in her has been nothing short of incredible. She is noticeably happier, more settled, and I have not seen her smile so much in years. It has been very reassuring for our family to see such a positive transformation. I truly cannot praise the staff enough for their kindness, dedication, and genuine care they show every day.

Due to necessity I desparatley needed respite care for my husband and was reluctant to leave him in the care of others. After visiting several care homes I knew that Bridge House was the place - how lucky I was to find such a place. He was made so welcome I immediately felt love and care from all. Time has past with my husband having regular respite and daycare at Bridge House it has become our second family. Everyone knows each other and the love and expertise from all staff and a excellant, caring management. The support by all in Bridge House has been amazing for which I am most grateful.

October has been a month of lots of different and interesting things that Rosemary has been able to join in with. This is the point that there is always during the day something that residents can join in with. However my mum loves motorbikes and we do take her to Oxford Speedway. Bridge House did a residents wish to go to the motorbike café. The trip was full but the lovely Chantelle found a way that my mum and I could be included. We all had the best time and the cake was yummy. This is what makes The Bridge House Care Home special - they will always try to go above and beyond for their residents and families.

My mother has lived here with worsening dementia for over 3 years now. It is a wonderful humane place where they treat residents with respect, care, love and a sense of joy. Nothing is too much trouble. Kindness is in everything each staff member does. There is a real sense of energy and fun. Food is wonderful, family and friends are welcomed and celebrated, premises and grounds wonderfully clean and well maintained, there is a fantastic programme of events and activities, care is considered, appropriate and respectful, nothing is hidden. I could not be more grateful for the staff's tireless smiling efforts every single day.

Marta has been part of the Carebase family since 2015 and, as a registered nurse and trained Dementia specialist, she has extensive elderly care experience.
Marta spent an earlier part of her career as Deputy Manager at Bridge House, before returning as Home Manager in 2022. She holds a master’s degree and Leadership and Management qualifications.
Marta is passionate about enabling our wonderful residents to live life to the fullest and providing expert guidance and support to families.
Speaking about her role at Bridge House, Marta said: “Nothing beats seeing residents smile, knowing they are happy and fulfilled. I’m proud to support and develop our wonderful team to deliver excellent care.”

Anita has been part of our Bridge House family since 2016. From a young age, Anita knew her future was in the care sector when she completed work experience in a hospice and found herself staying late and returning every weekend to spend time with patients. She loved being able to make a positive difference in people’s lives and that passion has definitely transferred to our residents, families and team at Bridge House. And, with extensive care experience including roles as carer, senior carer, head of care, care services manager, and deputy manager, she was our perfect choice for acting home manager.
Speaking about her position at Bridge House, Anita said: “I love how every day is different and that every day you have the opportunity to make someone smile, to make their day better and to have a positive difference – it’s really rewarding. I’m also proud to support and develop our amazing Bridge House team – they truly are exceptional.”
In her spare time, Anita enjoys spending time with her family; her husband Leion and little boy Isaac as well as enjoying a good movie and nice ice cream!
