I think all the staff are great and caring, my mother in law has been with you for over 4 years and now bed ridden as she broke her neck and stopped walking. The staff are really attentive to her as she really doesn't want to be here any more she has had enough.
She cannot get involved with any activities
now so misses out and mostly only eats toast.
Reply from Lisa Wright, Home Manager at The Spinney Care Home

Thank you so much for your lovely words about our team - I will be sure to pass them on to them. Please be assured we will continue to ensure your mother-in-law is always as comfortable and engaged as possible, creating meaningful moments of connection with her, relaxation through multi-sensory Namaste Care sessions in her room, and ensuring her tea and toast, which she's particularly partial to, are made exactly how she likes them.

My precious Mum has lived contentedly at Heathfield Court since early April 2024. Family are so grateful that Mum has always been loved and cared for outstandingly well, just as me and my husband had always strived to give her. The amazing Manager and her entire team meet my high standards of care for
Mum's complete wellbeing, allowing me to spend irreplaceable quality time with my Mum, enjoying each others company, in a relaxing environment. The Manager, Staff, Residents have become our extended family as they give Mum and me the support we need, that is missing from parts of family; so they all mean a lot. Heathfield has become a second home, warm, loving, and always much wanted, whether visiting early, late, day or night, you'll feel the same and see the professionalism. Nothing is for show, it is, as it is, truly is, outstanding care, support for Mum's every need, mine and family to. I have recommended, will continue to do so, it is the best, because they care from the heart. x

Mum's first month in Heathfields.
The staff have been kind and understanding, getting mum to understand her new environment.
All staff are approachable if a question or issue arises, and respond positively.
There is always a good atmosphere when I visit, staff and residence are always positive and
friendly, apart from one of the (two) little dogs who live on site, who hates me and yaps at me until I pass by! I'm sure she is protecting the residence. Despite this, comes to visit my mum in her room on a regular basis witch my mum loves. Plenty of activities are provided, which family's are encouraged to join in, everybody is welcome.
We get a regular news letter. This highlights birthday parties, special events (BBQ etc) and when outside entertainers visit, to which all family members, carers etc are warmly invited. The manager runs a tight ship. She will regularly check in with you to ensure everything is satisfactory, but is also great fun! Very happy for mum to be here.

Heathfield Court is exceptional. Having experienced various care homes and being able to compare - Heathfield stands head and shoulders above the rest. My father began staying for week respite stays and became a full time resident, March 25. Having already experienced the home for respite, as a family
we wouldn't have seen him placed anywhere else. I can't praise the home highly enough. The staff all the way from Manager, to, receptionists, carers, nurses and house keeping are amazing - friendly, welcoming and professional. Rather than a care home they have created a home from home environment appreciated by residents and their families alike. The staff take time to know the residents and their families as individuals - it feels like an extended family and it goes such a long way to making the care journey that bit easier. The daily care is impeccable, and the effort to keep the residents stimulated with various activities/trips is commendable. Would without hesitation recommend.

I am delighted to have chosen Heathfield Court Care Home for my Father. It had been highly recommended to me by a friend as her Mother was a resident there. We have not been disappointed! It is the perfect place to live and receive care when living at home or alone is no longer an option. Every aspect
of care is given with kindness and consideration towards the user/resident. Heathfield is a wonderful community which has taken away the isolation and loneliness that appears in illness and advancing years by their in house activities and entertainment - there is something to do or see every day and it is lovely to see the friendships
Growing stronger day by day. My father is very happy there and I have no concerns over his care. I highly recommend Heathfield Court 10/10

When my mother moved to The Spinney a year and a half ago her dementia had begun to take hold of her life and her mood was always, what can only be described as 'flat as a pancake'.
She was always a shy person and we were worried how she would cope with her new life.

However, from the day she moved

in the positive vibe of The Spinney started to work it's magic!
She received the most fantastic care from her carers. She engaged with the incredible varied activities programme. My mother loves the food (ate better than she had for decades) and really benefited from her private space (her spotless and pretty en suite room), the friendly lounge (which is a well designed) and the gorgeous garden. My mother is an animal lover and Ruby the cat senses this and sits on her lap when she is in the garden.
The combination of all these things means that my mother is now a genuinely relaxed and happy person. As a family we could not ask for more, and visiting her is always a pleasure.

From the very beginning of my husbands stay, I have received nothing but warmth and cooperation even in those small moments when I have had cause to be concerned and I was always listened to.

The toughness of my situation has been hugely helped by the listening ears of the staff generally.

The

phone line is annoying bug I gather will be improved on. I have also made my own comments to staff regarding close watching of my husband and they have responded even during busy times.

Overall I am very pleased with all that is done to look after my dear husbsnd.

My mother has been at the Spinney Care Home for 3 years and in that time I can honestly say I do not have a bad word to say about it. The staff are caring, helpful and completely there for the resident - we visit regularly on a Saturday and the level of care at the weekend is as good as the weekday.
One particular carer knows my mother very well and also shows care and compassion to my learning difficulties sister - she goes above and beyond and I find that so special.

Great care home. Carers are very good and management are always available to talk to if there is anything that needs to be discussed. I think the food is the only thing that lets the care home down. It's nicely cooked but portion sizes are small, not enough vegetables at all and no proper hot meal at
night. Supermarket bread thst is used for evening sandwiches is low quality. I think the nutritional value of meals are not great and it seems like it is business profit over nutrition.

Thank you for your kind words about our home and team, and for taking the time to leave a review. I was sorry to hear your concerns about the food but appreciated the chance to speak with you and explain our approach. Our menus are planned in partnership with residents to offer a variety of nutritionally balanced meals, including fresh vegetables and salads daily. While the main meal is usually served at lunchtime-based on residents' preferences-we often have a hot tea-time option too, like homemade lasagna. We also offer lighter choices such as sandwiches made with quality branded bread, antipasti, and seasonal options, especially during the warmer months. Following your feedback, we're pleased to add a wider selection of breads and rolls to our weekly menu.

Mum has been a resident since late 2023, and we know that she is being cared for, and the staff will always let us know if there are any issues with her health, or anything she needs.

The Spinney is a lovely home, and the atmosphere is very friendly and caring. Our Mum loves her weekly bingo session

and enjoys the visits from local school children.

Heathfield Court is exceptional. I can't recommend it highly enough.
The ethos of the place is clear from the moment you arrive and witness the smiles on the residents' faces.
Nothing is put on for show here. Day or night, you'll see the same friendly welcome and professionalism on display.
The entire
team follows the Manager's lead with a nothing-is too-much-trouble attitude. They treat every resident with dignity and get to know them and their families well. It's definitely not "one size fits all", with things tailored to each resident.
I now enjoy visiting as a daughter rather than a care-giver. I am kept informed and can relax, confident that all my Dad's needs are being met. Beyond that, it's somewhere he's encouraged to enjoy life with stimulating activities every day.
If you are agonising over the heartbreaking decision of needing to move a loved one into residential care then choose here. They'll put a protective arm around your loved one and a comforting arm around you too.

My mother-in-law has been at The Spinney since early 2021 and we have never had any reason to be unhappy with the care and support she receives. The staff are friendly and caring and are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure residents and their families are treated with kindness and respect.
The range of activities available for the residents is excellent and the garden is a joy in the spring/summer. We are so glad we found The Spinney as a place for my mother-in-law to live, close to us and where her dementia-driven needs and behaviours are understood.

Mum has been a resident for over four years now and we know she is in safe hands. The staff all take her welfare seriously and are very kind in their dealings with her, the other residents and visitors. Mum is a great one for misplacing her belongings, such as glasses, necklaces and gloves/hats and
many such items have not been found, but this must be a challenge in a care home where most residents have memory issues. The activities on offer for the residents are great with plenty of variety and something for everyone. Mum's physical health has improved over the time she has been a resident, which we attribute to the care, the food, the weekly schedule of entertainment and the company. I would not have my Mum live anywhere else.

I thought that my mother's previous care home was good, but after my mother came to Heathfield Court, they were below standard by comparison. The staff at Heathfield Court are outstanding, and the care and consideration given is of the highest standard. The cleanliness of the home is first class. Every
member of staff seems to work upon the residence as if they were part of their own family. I cannot recommend Heathfield Court highly enough. I am more than happy with the care and attention my mother is receiving.
