My Mother was moved to Claremont Court at the beginning of 2017 and I have nothing but praise for this nursing home. The expert care and consideration provided by all staff is above and beyond my expectations. My Mother's physical and mental state has improved and a huge worry has been lifted from my
shoulders.

I would recommend Claremont Court without hesitation.

Leaving a loved one in a nursing home is always a traumatic experience. The settling in period can be difficult. It would appear Claremont Court is both sensitive and aware of the needs of client and carers . Caring for a stranger with dementia is a challenge and Claremont appear to be up to the task.

Claremont Court provided a caring and supportive environment for the last month of my mother's life. The staff were superb - they not only cared for Mum but did so in an affectionate manner. They tried to maintain her dignity as her health failed and always responded to her sense of humour with appreciation.
The physical environment was well designed apart from problems with the lift to the second floor on a few occasions. I am very grateful to Claremont Court for their care of my mother.

My mother was moved to Claremont Court from her care home when her health deteriorated and she needed more nursing care. During her last few weeks, she received excellent palliative care. Nursing staff took time to encourage her to eat and drink she was bathed nightwear and bedding changed daily. We
could visit any time day or night and offered hot drinks. A small fully equipped kitchen was also available to us.
How we wish mum moved there earlier so she could have enjoyed as best as her health would allow, to partake in the activities and use the pleasant dining room with other residents.
We could only observe the dedication of the staff in their care of other residents all of whom suffered from dementia. Staff had time to spend with them and preserve their dignity at all times. The staff also had time to spend with us and said their care was for the relatives as well as their residents and it showed.
Although we as a family were involved with Claremont Court for a short while, we would have no hesitation in recommending them as caring environment for those suffering from dementia, being looked after by staff who really care.

There is a relaxed atmosphere at the home with freedom for residents to move around on their designated floor. All staff are friendly and approachable and willing to assist when problems arise during visits. The menu appears to be varied although I cannot comment further on the food/meals itself. More
information on my wife's behaviour/progress, either good or bad, would be welcomed. There is a good range of activities available for residents.

I would recommend Claremont Court to anyone looking for a care home for someone with dementia. My uncle moved to the home directly from hospital. Apart from dementia my uncles first language was British sign language as he had been born deaf and he had always lived on his own. We were concerned that
he would struggle to communicate with the staff, but this was not the case. The staff went out of their way to communicate with him, even putting up simple signs on his bedroom wall to help the staff going into his room. The staff cared really well for my uncle, this mean't he settled very quickly. Sadly my uncle passed away 4 months after moving to the home. But we were comforted by the knowledge that he was well cared for in his final days. As a family we felt that both my uncle and the family were really well supported under very difficult circumstances.

My mother-in-law went to the care home at the end of last year as she was in her last stage of Dementia. I liked everything about the home but would recommend they review their food. The residents looked happy and the place was very clean and staff were very friendly.

Before he came to Claremont Court my father's dementia had led to very difficult behaviour at times. When we discussed this before he came here, the staff took it in their stride. They have worked with us to ensure that he settled in, and we have been delighted by how calm and happy he is now. Whenever
we visit he tells us how kind and friendly the staff are, and that is obvious from the way they treat him.
His care plan focuses very much on him as an individual and they have always involved us in developing this. When there has been an occasional problem, they have always contacted us promptly, explained the situation and their plans to resolve it, and sought feedback from us.
His own views are taken into consideration and respected. It is a joy to see him so content.

I am extremely pleased with the level of care and welcoming approach that has been given to my mother from all the staff since taking up residence some two months ago. Clearly she is going from strength to strength and has settled in well. The ambience of Claremont Court together with the stimulus of
both staff and other residents around her has helped my mother become much more relaxed and very happy in her new environment.

My mother initially went into Claremont Court for two weeks respite after I had moved in with her in own home since February 2015. Whilst I was with her she was very restless and agitated and at times violent. I now think this is because she was no longer in charge of her own domain. However, after
her respite (she settled in extremely well, much to my surprise) it was decided that it would be better for her to become a permanent resident in Claremont Court. The change in her has been amazing; every time I visit she is totally relaxed and calm, and not at all concerned when I leave her. I am sure this change is due to the welcoming environment as well as the attitude of the manager and her staff.

After nine months of searching, we were really pleased for my wife to be offered a place at Claremont Court. My wife has now been in residence for 3 months, and has settled in well. She has become much calmer, has put on weight and is eating, drinking and keeping well, and this is a great relief to
me. The staff are very welcoming, warm and friendly, and treat my wife with dignity. The location of this home is superb, being at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. Activities in the home are many and varied - Highly recommended.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.918)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.918) out of 10 for Claremont Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.918 for Claremont Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (305 Excellents x 5) + (23 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 330 Ratings = 4.918
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Claremont Court Care Home is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
