Nestled in the 'Rose of the Shires', Northamptonshire, Elm Bank Care Home is a spacious and inviting residence in Kettering with great access to local amenities. Members of staff get to know everyone individually so they can provide a high quality lifestyle and activities that each resident will enjoy. The home welcomes respite and long term residents.

Bedrooms are divided between a community for people with lower care needs, a separate supported living house and a dementia care community. Elm Bank also has a premium respite suite for short-stay guests. Each community has its own living and dining rooms, with private dining options for visiting families and special occasions. Furnishings and décor throughout the home are of a high standard and offer a homely and comfortable feel.

There is a secure private garden in the centre of the grounds, a patio area to the rear of the home and a Victorian summer house - all perfect for outdoor socialising.

Meals are prepared by trained chefs who offer a varied daily menu and tailor meals to individual preferences. Residents may eat in the restaurant-style dining room or in their own rooms if preferred. All dietary requirements are catered for.

A dedicated Activities Coordinator plans a busy programme of daily events for residents to take part in if they wish. Residents also help to plan activities, outings and entertainment that they will enjoy, to make sure there is something for everyone.

The overall approach to the building was pleasant, well presented, clean and with parking.
The reception was wellcoming and nicely decorated and had a lovely feel.
The residents rooms were clean and of a good size and nicely appointed.
The communal area was wellcoming and comfortable.

On admission two staff offered to care for my mothers every need. Despite being informed by me 24 hours earlier of her departure no one knew of her leaving and nothing was prepared. The personal care was not there because her cardigan buttons were uncoordinated. There was no one to tell me how she has
been and what had she done rather than she had been no trouble! I emptied her drawers and packed her suitcase but there was no washing for the week.

There simply isn't enough stars to give this place and the amazing staff. From the minute my mother-in-law arrived the care and support had been beyond what we ever expected, but they also gave us invaluable support during the difficult time. They took time to understand my mother in laws needs and
personality and gave her the space and care she needed. They encouraged her but never forced her to join in with activities. She is now a very happy lady who loves who new home. I never thought we'd find a home good enough to look after my grandma. She means the world to us, so as you can imagine, no one could care for her as well as we'd like. Well, I stand corrected. My grandma has been given a new lease of life. I cannot thank the manager enough for supporting and enabling
such a rapid move into Barchester Elm Bank Care Home. She immediately put us at ease. One staff member in particular greeted us on arrival with a warm and friendly welcome, displaying a personable, professional introduction to the home. My grandma is now engaging in social activities and has a good friend among the residents. I love the banter I hear between the team and my grandma. It's exactly what she needed. The family are all made to feel welcome when we visit and the kids love the hot chocolate when they visit grandma. The best asset at Barchester Elm Bank Care Home is the wonderful staff. Without exception, everyone is welcoming and cheerful. We witnessed the very caring attitude of one member of staff who was patiently encouraging a resident to try some food. As well as helping them to drink and eat, she offered
several suggestions of varying items, bringing them to the table to try. Although we were only staying for a week, the chefs preordered special dietary requirements and daily checked the suitability of the menus with us. Our break was refreshing and beneficial. It felt as though we were part of a big happy family.

Mum is extremely well cared for and looked after.
The food is great and coffee and biscuits aplenty at all times.
The entertainment/activities are regular and plentiful and residents are even taken offsite to visit places and things of interest on a regular basis.
All the staff are friendly and caring
so I am comfortable that this is a great place for Mum to see out her remaining days.

As a family, we cannot put into words how caring, supportive and professional all the staff and management have been at Barchester Elm Bank Care Home. From the first day we set foot through their door, we were looked after and treated as family.
They have all looked after my mother and father so well.

Hello, my name is Tina and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Elm Bank Care Home.


I joined Elm Bank in May 2023 as a Team Leader soon becoming the Head of Care before moving to the role of Activities Coordinator and leading the team in January 2024. My passion is to provide life-enriching activities that enhance the lives of our residents.


By providing entertainment that is not only stimulating but person-centred. Our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home of interest, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities. We are a pet-friendly home and fully support the benefits animal therapy can bring to the lives of our residents and welcome animals of all kinds to the home regularly.


Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends meetings, we can gain a greater understanding of their loved one's interests and lives before joining Elm Bank which will make for a richer activities program to be developed. I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.

Hello, my name is Amanda and I'm the Non-Clinical Head of Care here at Elm Bank. I joined the team in 2018 as a Care Assistant in our residential community for people with lower support needs before progressing to Team Leader in our Daisy Lane Community for those living with dementia.


I am proud to be part of a home that delivers care based on each person's individual needs and provides support with respect and dignity. When I’m not at work I love spending time with my little boy or going shopping, and I enjoy eating out and going on holiday with family.

Hello. I am Sophie and I support our Head Chef to produce a varied menu every day, and I manage the kitchen team . It is very important to me that every resident enjoys their food, so I get to know exactly how and when they like their food. I work very closely with the General Manager and the team to ensure our home's high standards are maintained. When I’m not at work I love spending time with my 2 children and husband, going to country parks, day trips and having many family get-togethers.

Hello. My name is Isabel and I have been working at Elm Bank Care Home since 2011. I am the Customer Liaison Assistant for our home, supporting with enquiries, show rounds, showrooms and welcoming visitors to the home. Hello. I am Jill and I have lived at Elm Bank for many years so I know the staff really well. I enjoy attending all the activities and I always want to try the new things offered here. I help to put up decorations for special events throughout the year, to create a celebratory atmosphere. Staff and residents work together to make special days really enjoyable. I am a confident person and it is part of my role to liaise with the General Manager any residents who want to express their wishes but are unable to do so. I make a special point of welcoming all new residents to our home and helping them to settle in. I am very proud to be part of Elm Bank as we are all cared for like family.
