My mother recently stayed for a week for respite care following a period in hospital. From the moment I contacted Wadhurst Manor to the time we left, the care and welcome were second to none. Everyone was so friendly and eager to help. A perfect place for my mother to regain her confidence before she went home.

My Father has been a Resident at Barchester Wadhurst Manor since April this year. It has been a big adjustment for him, and for us as a family. It has taken me a while to complete this review, however, I now do so in the knowledge that my Father is settled, relaxed and confident in his surroundings. All the Staff I have encountered are caring, friendly and willing to help or advise. They also have a sense of humour which is invaluable. It is very tough seeing your elderly Father become increasingly frail, however knowing that he is cared for, comfortable and can enjoy his meals in the company of others is very reassuring. I would on behalf of our family like to thank the manager and each and every one of the staff who looks after my Father. Whether it be the handyman, the cleaners, the cooks, care staff, nurses, receptionists, finance team, indeed everyone who has helped us during the transition from respite to permanent care. He now refers to the Manor as 'home'.

Thank you all for the wonderful week I have so enjoyed with you at Wadhurst Manor! An operation was planned for me a quite short notice; on realising that I would need a little while to recover, I asked if it was possible to book into Wadhurst Manor, and, wonderfully, there was a room free for the exact time needed! I was happy to book in, and my family brought me straight from the hospital a day after the successful surgery.
I found the warmth of my welcome, the friendliness of all the staff, their courtesy, car, kindness, thoughtfulness and helpfulness heartwarming; in fact, I have run out of words to describe the lovely week! I thought of it as a holiday, an experience I will always remember with joy and thankfulness. Every family member and friend visiting me noticed the peaceful, friendly atmosphere and joined me in my enthusiasm.

I wish to express my gratitude to each person of the outstanding staff who made this respite holiday so special.

We moved my 91-year-old frail and seriously ill father to Wadhurst Manor, and I battle to find the right words to show our level of gratitude. This home is the most special place you will find. They cared for Dad like their own family. The leadership is organised and professional, and the staff are caring and kind. The level of empathy and support runs throughout the home. Dad sadly didn't pull through, but we have absolutely no doubt that he was in the best place when he passed away. I cannot recommend Wadhurst Manor enough. Although we moved Dad a little too late, it still feels like a safe place for my family and will hold a special place in our hearts. These people are angels on earth. Thank you.

My husband aged 86 was seriously ill with Covid and Pneumonia and was in hospital for two weeks. When he was discharged I was very pleased to arrange for him to come to Wadhurst Manor, as I knew they had a good reputation locally. My son and I appreciated being able to visit him regularly and I was impressed with the care and sympathy shown by the staff. Unfortunately, he did not survive, but I was absolutely sure that he was in the best place possible and will always be grateful for their help.

My mum stayed at Wadhurst Manor for 3 weeks of respite care, she was very well cared for and took part in the activities which I am thrilled about. Mum has dementia and I know that this stimulation has helped her immensely, she has not been able to take part in her usual coffee mornings and bingo sessions at home due to the pandemic. The staff were wonderful with her and were very friendly and approachable. The management team were very efficient. Overall I am very pleased with Wadhurst Manor and hope that mum can stay again very soon.

The staff at Wadhurst Manor care home are very good with my mum and are always kind and patient and go the extra mile to help her. The manager is excellent and I know I can always contact her easily and she is very helpful. I wish the staff had additional time to sit with my mum, but it is difficult as they are very busy. One of the caretakers is particularly kind and caring to my mum and takes every step to care for her well-being. I really appreciate all that the staff do at Wadhurst Manor Carehome. Thank you.

I have nothing but praise for the excellent team at Wadhurst Manor. Anyone who has had to make the decision to put a loved one into 24-hour care will know how devasting this can be. The team have looked after my dad as if he was their own relative. They welcomed him into their family and have dealt professionally and kindly with his inevitable settling in problems and confusion. My heartfelt thanks to them all.

Dad had increasing nursing requirements, which could no longer be met at home. Due to Covid times, Dad went to Wadhurst Manor, which he had not seen. He likened it to a hotel, he received a really great standard of care. The staff were very quick to react to any changes in his condition and get him additional professional help he required. As his condition deteriorated, he received compassionate, personable end of life care. This comfort and wellbeing were at the forefront of his care, and for this, I will always be grateful, especially in these times when we were completely relying on the staff.
