My husband seems to be happy with all the staff. There was one carer that he didn't like but that carer has now gone. The family are happy is still with you, he needs care and he certainly has it.

All the carers and staff do a brilliant job under the difficult circumstances never more so in lockdown. Thank you.

My friend has been residing in Alexandra View since just before the COVID-19 pandemic started. On arrival, the staff were very welcoming and could not do enough to accommodate. I speak to my friend on her mobile often and she always has good stories to tell from her day. The staff often ring the family with regular updates.

It's quite difficult to write an objective review as most of my mams stay has been during the Covid-19 lockdown and we haven't been able to visit.
Initial impressions of the home were very good but I do feel more could have been done to maintain contact between mam and her family, perhaps regular organised calls or better still video call?

Maybe window visits could be arranged similar to the ones I have seen on news programs.

My mam initially went into care as she needed a hospital assessment bed after a fall. due to Covid-19 and not being able to return home, she is still in their care. When I was allowed to visit I found everything excellent. Staff were very friendly and caring to mam's needs. There were excellent activities provided by the activities lady which brought out a marked difference in mams behaviour and attitude. I have been unable to see mam since lockdown but the carers have kept me updated on her well-being. Thank you.

It was difficult when it agreed mum would need professional care. I found staff very supportive to family as well as mum. At first, it was hard to visit knowing she would stay there. Staff were excellent reassuring me all the way and helping me, giving me a synopsis of mum's day. I am happy she is very well cared for.

Since the takeover almost 2 years ago, there has been a huge change in how the home is run. The changes are highly positive and the staff are fantastic with my dad now. He tends to be very vocal and can make people jump. However, through this distress, other's and staff chat with him and see to all care needs. After a short stay in the hospital, the home staff were very quick and responsive with realising his health was not good and got him the medical help needed at the time.

I understand a little better of how old and infirm people are cared for. It takes people of a special quality to undertake this difficult job of a variety of ailments to contend with. My experience visiting this care home has been an eye-opener, with some staff having the self-same problems at home and some have illnesses themselves.

They still manage a smile and a song, maybe more staff would be helpful.

I feel that the home gives a good standard of care, due to limited staff.

Thank you for your comments - staffing is in line with dependency of the current service users and is reviewed regularly to ensure enough staff are on duty to meet service users needs.

It was a difficult decision to place my dad into care. After viewing several homes we decided on Alexandra View. We soon realised we had made the right decision, the care and support from the staff was second to none. My dad was very happy and settled in very well. He loved the staff and he held a special place ion their hearts too.

My mother has been a resident at Alexandra View Care Centre for three years over this time she has been treated with dignity and her needs are met and care given to a high standard with respect.
During periods of illness changes have been recognised quickly, assessment and treatment timely. Staff are very approachable and deal quickly with our concerns, also establish contact quickly in times of conditional change.

Staff are all visible, friendly and keen to assist. Residents are a priority however their care attends to the family even to contact me when my dad didn't visit at his usual time checking he was well! Above and beyond care.

My auntie is well looked after by the staff and is given plenty of support at all times.
Activities are excellent and they involve my auntie at all times.
The manager is very nice and helpful and interacts with residents and family.

I feel there could be room for improvement with the laundry as cloths go missing and never seem to be replaced.

Since February I have found a big difference in how the place is run.

The meals are more filling and nutritious and the care is a lot better since the new manager took over.
